Their lomo saltado is delicious and I highly recommend!!! The décor inside is very nice. Their service on the other hand is where it loses a star. I often order takeout from here and no matter what busy OR slow, I find myself waiting a ridiculous amount of time for a plate. Honestly though the food makes up for the wait in my opinion.

I was a little nervous to go here at first. Never had food from Peru before. The parking lot is small and tight. Wasn’t sure what to expect. We were welcomed kindly. our waiter was sweet and knowledgeable. We tried several different things. Each was presented so beautifully. And the food was delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

I was in the area on a holiday Monday and found myself being led by my nose across Main Street to a converted diner. The sign on top said«Steak and Seafood,» but it was definitely a barbecued meat aroma that was bathing my senses. I felt like a cartoon character, you know the scenario in which some delicious smoke forms the image of a hand gesturing, ‘Follow me…‘ And let me tell you, I’m so glad it found me. Los Andes has a big Grand Opening sign on its front, but the perfection of menu, food and service would lead one to believe that experience isn’t lacking here. So many inviting choices, and I opted for a plate of ½ rotisserie chicken, over a bed of crisp fried potatoes with a salad. The chicken was perfectly cooked, large moist chunks of white meat pulling away via my fork, with delicious skin. And my delight of great sauces was just inside of heaven here: they start you off with a small bowl of popped hominy to munch on, served with a mismatched creamy dill sauce that is yummy and fiery, with hot peppers. What a fantastic concoction, and not too hard on your taste buds if you don’t dip too deep. Then, with the chicken and salad, there were two dressings. The first was a little thin and nothing to write Unilocal about, but the second was a buttermilk based sauce that was aces. They put ketchup and packets of mayo on the table for this ugly American, but I left them alone, right where they were placed. The décor is still reminiscent of the diner from its previous incarnation, but clean and the authentic Peruvian music made for an excellent dining experience. Service is top notch, polite and attentive. Just wish I lived closer, but I will surely return.

The flavors are excellent. The portions are generous. The staff is not the most professional staff but very friendly. You will notice right away the inexperience in the industry. But overall highly recommended.

We got the mini special, which is a ¼ chicken, Peruvian chicken or pork fried rice and french fries. It was so much food. My husband and I could’ve ordered just one meal and still had leftovers. The special was $ 10.50 and quite delicious. Will definitely go there again. The service was great too!

Yes! A gem. This is one of 2 Peruvian restaurants in the area. The chicken place being another. This place is off the corner of 112 and Main Street. Next to a gas station. The atmosphere is airy open and spacious. The décor is cute. The waiting staff is good. The food is very well presented, very tasty and good portions. Yes they know how awesome their green sauce and their salad dressing is. They charge for extras when ordering out but if you have left overs you shouldn’t have to pay for any condiments. I absolutely love their food but I guess they could be a little more friendly and less pushy as to what you should buy. Helpful is different than talking someone into a more expensive plate. I am Peruvian and can defend myself as to the choices and what I feel for at time of ordering but others may not. Winning choices here are: To shower in green sauce get the following: rotisserie chicken, fried yuca, Jalea, tostones, etc. Other top favorites: tallarin verde, lomo saltado, arroz con pollo, and arroz chaufa. Give us some more deal days. Maybe a groupon or 2. Loyalty discount or something of that sort. UPDATE: business starting to change a bit. The love in their cooking is decreasing. I hope it’s just a bad day. Don’t change from where you started. No shortcuts please.

I’ve been here a couple of times. In both instances the food was great, especially considering the price. Good quality for a fair price. The service was also very good on my first trip. Our server seemed invested in the business and was genuinely eager to ensure our meal was a good experience. I am rating 4 stars. Try the seafood with the special sauce. Also the beef heart appetizer… I’ve since been back a few more times… Food is always awesome! Hidden gem.

We came here recently and had a fun time. For an appetizer we had a plate which had 4 large slabs of mashed potatoes with chicken salad in the center. It was tasty and different. For an entrée I ordered a combo with half a roasted chicken, a thin slab of beef, a pile of french fries and a salad, all on one very large plate. The chicken is juicy and falls right off the bone. The food is unusually good for the price and the portions are huge. There was plenty to take home. My Spanish is lousy as is their English but we were warmly welcomed and at every opportunity the staff was friendly, hospitable and made sure our needs were met. I’ll definitely go back.

As a new resident of Patchogue, I was excited to learn that my town features not one, but two Peruvian restaurants. We decided to try Los Andes even though The Chicken Place was the main one on my radar given the mixed reviews of Los Andes(although with just two previous reviews, it’s hard to tell what the experience will be like). The menu features some of the Peruvian staples I adore like ceviche, anticuchos, rotisserie chicken, and lomo saltado. We ordered the Leche de Tigre ceviche appetizer, which we learned is the same as the regular ceviche, but a smaller portion. The appetizer came in a margarita glass(not the huge kind), but it was packed with delicious white fish. It was more than enough as an appetizer for two people, and for around $ 10! We were still working on it when our entrees came. I even imbibed the leche de tigre itself(the marinate juice) because it was just that good. I ordered the Bistek de Parrilla which was a very thin cut beef with two cooked plantains on top, cup of rice, and some white beans. It was very satisfying, and I particularly enjoyed drenching the meat in the sauce they served at the start of our meal(it was a spicy, cream based – I’d guess buttermilk – cilantro and chili sauce, they also gave us popped hominy at the beginning). Next time I’d try the anticuchos and the rotisserie chicken. Menu items I wish they had, but didn’t: aji de gallina, more authentic Peruvian sauces for the meats, sangria and beer(they probably don’t have a license for alcohol though, so I may inquire about corkage in the future). The lack of these items still doesn’t warrant a removal of a star; restaurants are different and there’s no reason they must all cater to everyone’s desires all the time. Servers were friendly too! We will definitely be back. They’re open until 10pm. They also played Peruvian music, which is a plus, but at some point it was turned down too low. Keep playing the music, guys, it makes the ambience that much more special and festive!

They tricked my husband and I into ordering a «combo» when he asked for the choices for ordering a whole roasted chicken. I ordered the paella. The«combo» was indeed a whole chicken as well as a pound of French fries and cut up hotdog, and about two pounds of fried rice all served on platters. The dish was meant to be ordered for an entire family. They tricked him into ordering it to upsell the check. We felt deceived and overwhelmed with food. It was a disappointing experience especially when they tried to tell us «Spanish» people order it all the time and did not compensate for their misguidance. Maybe it was my blonde hair but I am Puerto Rican and I still did not want enough food for ten people when I was on a nice lunch date with my husband. The experience was horrible and the food was easily 1 – 2 stars. Ceviche was a good hit. Such a mistake.

Hidden Gem! This place is delicious. The best Peruvian in the area by far! The only thing I would criticize is they charge you when you want green sauce or salad dressing to go with your left overs. Other than that the food is great and the staff is very friendly.
