Came here last night for the second time because it was the only hookah bar open at 3:30am. I had been here before, about a year ago, and the hookah wasn’t bad, but I had never planned on returning because I ordered an arabic coffee and there was a cricket in it, which I had not noticed until its corpse was in my mouth. Now I was pretty desperate last night, so I called and they said they were open til 5am. I sit down, order a blue mist, and then a bunch of people with alcohol show up. I’m all for drinking, but I’m not into rowdy drunk people in a really small place with live coals burning. Other patrons kept bumping into my hookah. Now for the hookah itself. They charged me $ 25 for one hookah. WHICHISRIDICULOUS. I MIGHTASWELLHAVESTAYEDINTHECITYANDWENTTOKAZUZA. ANDTHEYHADMEPAYBEFORE I FINISHED! The bowls were prepacked, I saw the guy grab a head and toss it on. The grapefruit bowl was poorly cut, leaving very little room for coal distribution. The flavor was stale, who knows how long that bowl has been sitting in the fridge? Think I’m gonna have to keep my hookah in my car from now on.

This is a typical local Egyptian hookah spot, you would find those a lot around the corners of almost every Egyptian main Street. And that’s what I like about it, it brings me a lot of these back home memories. It’s nothing fancy at all, a hookah and a drink will run you $ 15, not bad at all compares to other hookah places near by, the owner Ashraf is a cool guy, very laid back. I used to go there almost every night till last month when the city of Paterson had issues with people smoking indoors, so now the outside seating is open, gets a little cold some nights but as long as you smoking and enjoying some hot tea then it’s alright.

This is a great little place. This is NOT a fancy hookah spot with loud music, leather couches and flat screen televisions. This is simply a café that has hookahs. BUT I LOVEIT Ashraf is the gentleman that owns the place and hes such a hard worker. Its open super late and you can stay here till the early morning and he continuously will change your coals and is always walking around making sure everything is ok. all the hookahs are CHEAP! no matter the flavor they are all $ 12 a piece. my personal favorites are blue mist/mint… and lemon/mint. this is a great little spot to just chill and relax, its BYOB which is nice and Quicks food mart which has the best sandwiches ever is like 100 ft away and you can bring food over and chill. Perfect for summer nights with friends. If your looking for something low-key, relaxing and cheap and enjoy great hookah! this is your spot
