Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery and Grill

For a franchise/​chain that’s been around since I was a wee, poo-​putt little kid? They’ve still got it. THE place for Jamaican beef patties, dinner cuisine, bakery items, and other Jamaican ingredients and such.
Most people know them for their beef patties (mild and spicy), as well as their curry chicken, jerk chicken, shrimp, vegetable, and callaloo (spinach’s Jamaican auntie) patties. However, in the last decade or so, they’ve ventured into general Jamaican cuisine, cooking hot plates of all your Jamaican favorites. This particular GK location is right across from two other Jamaican restaurants (pointless if you ask me, because that’s too much competition). They may not make great Jerk chicken like their «friends» across the street, but they surely have some other decent food items on deck.
They’ve also got a slew of the Jamaican baked goods that many of us Jamaicans — or in my case, JAMERICANS — grew up on. Your hard dough bread, Fruit Bun (especially for Easter) & cheese, Gizzarda, bread pudding, potato pudding, and a plethora of other awesome things!
Never mind the neighborhood, though. Just walk right through and grab some shtuff.
