Used to work down the block on Spruce Street in Paterson, and would come here for lunch on occasion. Hadn’t been here for years. Stopped in the other day, and really enjoyed. Simple stuff, Burgers, Dogs, Sandwiches all done very well. Prices are low, food is good quality. Its like going back to the past, very old school… but great. If in Paterson, I would recommend Libby’s

This place seems like a staple in the area. We came here for lunch after work because of the good reviews and they Libby’s didn’t disappoint. I’d stick with the burgers, hot dogs, and fries, but everything looked great. Not to mention the food comes out super quick.

I HAVe been going to LIBBYSSINCE1985. I know the whole family and they are very friendly to all. If you like the dogs all the way this is where you come North jersey style. I Love the Cheese steak platter Hard roll Gravy on the side. They are a stone throw from our new National Park the Great Falls. And they have a liquor license ITIS A MUSTSTOPWHENINTHEPATERSONAREA!!!

You can NEVER go wrong with Libby’s. Their dogs are deep fried for that perfect snap. Sauce is AMAZING. not quite chili sauce but it has small chunks of meat in it with great spices and flavor. Get anything«all the way» and it comes with spicy brown mustard, finely chopped onions, and sauce. I personally always go for one dog all the way and a cheeseburger platter all the way with cheese and sauce on the fries and an extra side of sauce. Always get birch beer which they have on tap. So delicious. Never lets me down.

Been going there for decades. It’s quality, well prepared food and with usually very good service at a very fair price. The«dog-all the way» is a must have. While in the area, be sure to visit the Passaic Falls. You can walk across the footbridge and see the rainbow on any sunny day.

While I was a fan of the now, long-gone Falls View as a child Libby’s is still a great option for dogs all the way. I find their sauce has a similar taste and texture and the preparation to be closest to my favorite location from the past. While this is in no way a gourmet meal it is tasty and nostalgic. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. They also have beer on tap which always goes better with this kind of fare than soda in my opinion.

Hot grill has nothing on this. Hands down best dog I’ve ever had. I’ve had the burger too, delicious. I won’t be looking for a better hot dog, I found it.

So we heard about this place during a road trip up the east coast. We where nearby at the Great Falls and after learning they had been the first to introduce the«Hot Texas Weiner» i knew I had to stop in and try one. The staff is nice and the service is prompt, but if this place sets the bar in terms of what a hot texas weiner is I must say that Hot Texas Weiner’s are the most awed thing I have ever tasted. I took one bite of it and promptly offered the rest of it to my daughter who absolutely loves hot dogs. She took one bit and then refused to eat any more of it. Perhaps Hot Texas Weiner’s are one of those things that you have to have a taste for. I mean heck I eat crickets and bugs with out an issue and people think those are gross so maybe its the same deal with these things. There are tons of great reviews for this place so either I just don’t understand what a Hot Texas Weiner is supposed to taste like or everyone else who is saying these things are great has spent there life eating from a garbage can and doesn’t know what food is supposed to taste like. Personally I’ll never return but on the plus side I can check off the box on my Bucket List that says eat a Hot Texas Weiner at the spot they where created. Granted that item was never on my bucket list to begin with and after having one I know why!

A generous 3.5 stars. Very clean for such a sketchy neighborhood, friendly and welcoming staff. Texas weiners all the way are what brought me here and I wasn’t disappointed. Good sauce, finely minced onions so they’re not overpowering and mustard the way they ought to be. Platter gets you a huge mound of fries though the oil needs to be changed which affected the flavor. N.B. They give refills on fountain drinks, but the birch beer is deceptive as its served in a cup with ice but comes from a can so no refills.

Located right next to the Paterson falls, Libby’s is another landmark hot dog joint in northern NJ. Love all the way sauce? Don’t feel like driving to Hot Grill?(In my case Libbys is closer to home). Come to Libby’s! Its a much smaller version of the hot grill… hot dogs are cooked differently and of course there’s a variation in the famous all the way sauce but overall its the same kinda place. On this occasion we went with cheese/gravy fries, onion rings and all the way dogs. The dogs with all the way sauce were scrumptious(and the real reason I came here). Cheese/gravy fries, ehhh, not impressed. Mad gravy and no cheese, bad ratio. Onion rings were golden, crisp and large. I enjoyed those. The service on this particular occasion was not great but that’s not always the case. While hot grill is absolutely my favorite place to cure my crave for hot dogs all the way, Libbys comes in at a close second. Check Libby’s out if you want to experience some hot dogs all the way and while you’re at it go experience the Paterson Falls as well.

Chili is to die for, a little sweet and I think cinnamon in it? Location is the worst, but worth the adventure getting there.

This place has to be a Paterson landmark. But, if you’re not nearby I wouldn’t have a good reason to dine here. The all the way weiner is not worth coming to sketchy Paterson. I ordered a cheese steak here and the meat was cancer-causing burnt. The onion rings are made with onion rings good. The server was nice. Side note: they don’t serve homefries here.

Libby’s is a nostalgic old-school Paterson hot dog joint and bar right across from the Great Falls. As long as this hometown establishment is around, I’ll never have the need to go to any of those other places in Clifton. I recommend sticking to what this place is famous for, the Texas Wieners. For larger appetites, you might want the X-Large, which I think is only $ 0.15 or $ 0.25 more than the regular. I like these dogs all the way(spicy mustard, chili, and onions). The steamed bun, crispness of the dog, and the way the mustard and chili flavors blend together is something special. They have a pretty extensive menu with burgers, fries, cheesesteaks, gyros, wings, chicken fingers, and roast beef sandwiches, so feel free to explore. If you get the fries or burger, it’s definitely worth trying them with chili and cheese, but you may hate yourself later on.

We stopped in for dinner while we were in town for my mother-in-law’s birthday. My husband is from Paterson, but never mentioned coming here as a kid. The servers are all very nice and their customer service is outstanding. The menu was a little overwhelming for me because I really wasn’t sure what I had a taste for, but I ended up getting a turkey burger from my MIL’s suggestion. It was pretty tasty. The food service was quick, which we appreciated because we had kids in tow. The food was great, the portions were not too big and not too small. Great food for a great price in historic Paterson, you can’t beat it! Thank you!

I have so many memories of Libby’s. This is where, in my early youth, had come to understand and love texas weiners! My father and his friends grew up in the Paterson and Clifton area and I’ve been to Rutt’s Hut and The Hot Grill but, this is my goto place whenever I am in the area. The chili sauce is a perfect fit with raw onions and mustard(all the way). It goes perfect with a beer and a trip to the Great Falls! It’s a small dive bar/diner but, it will always be in my heart as the greatest place to get hot dogs in NJ(the second greatest is Hot Dog Johnny’s but, that is for a different review!)

Great place. 1) The location is excellent. It is near Great Falls, as such, making a visit here is a perfect addition. 2) The hot dogs and chilies are great. Try the fries with gravy, it was great. 30 The ambiance is nice, service is good, and the food is good and affordable.

I work in Paterson & was tired of eating the same things for the past year, so I decided to find something on Unilocal & came across Libby’s Lunch. Glad that I did, the food was great & the prices were unbelievable. On the outside looking in, you would think its a mechanic shop or that it was closed, but I went in anyway & seen that it was very much so crowded. Wanted hot wings but they had just ran out :(so I ordered a cheeseburger with some fries & it was delicious! On the way out asked the waitress for a To-Go menu so I could take it back to the office to tell my coworkers about the place & she said they just ran out(2x in 1 day ONMY1STVISIT) Not a good look but overall this place was great, staff was very attentive & I will be going back this time to eat in & try something new.

Stopped here for a couple of dogs for lunch. Had two extra long dogs with mustard, chili & kraut. The dogs were very good & I loved the birch beer on draft. Will be making this a standard stop in the future.

This Great falls view lunch spot has a few great things going for it, old school tradition of good food, good service, and a menu that has something for everyone, not just fantastic hot dogs. I tried the bot dog all the way which had a thin, flavorful chili that had some secret spices in it, and fine chopped onions and a birch beer from tap to start, great start. I followed it up with a classic with sauerkraut and mustard but received a relish and mustard, no biggie though, it was a busy day there, and I like relish too. The best of the bunch was the Italian hot dog, peppers and onions, which I had with provolone– so good. Ill be back to try the gyro next, the place is Greek owned, so its probably a safe bet.
