The worst Chinese food I’ve ever had!!! I ordered the general tso shrimp with shrimp fried rice. The rice was bland with big chunks of onion and a couple of bean sprouts. The General tso shrimp wasn’t any better. Very disappointing. I couldn’t even finish it. Had to throw it out halfway through. This meal was a waste of money and time. Time especially since it took over an hour to be delivered. Never again.

I had just about given up on Chinese food in Paterson. The majority serve fried rice which is some pre-packaged yellow rice with little bits of pork or shrimp, they don’t even put any of the typical onions, green onions, or bean sprouts in it anymore. Some of the better places are only carry-out, no delivery. So Peking Garden left a menu in my mailbox one day, cards accepted and they deliver, and I was like what the hell, let me give it a shot. I was surprised when the food arrived. Pork fried rice was old-school and tasty with actual veggies and visible chunks of pork in it. Plus I tried the rotisserie option for their half chicken and gave that a shot. It came with some side sauce(garlicky and soy sauce-type mix). Man, that was good. This was the best Chinese delivery I had in quite a while. I’ve tried their egg rolls, noodles, house specials, mixed dishes, and have been satisfied every time. I will give some tips in this review, since it is their first. They do kind of operate in a mainstream fashion. Taxes and a $ 1 delivery fee accompany your order, but at least they give you a computer-generated receipt. They have my address stored in their computer(welcome to the 21st century Chinese delivery). I guess the taxes & fees are just a consequence of accepting credit cards and such, but they’ve been reliable every time. Be aware that the rotisserie chicken is in high demand here. They may run out as soon as 8 pm, so just be warned. Overall, the prices are typical, but have the additional tax and delivery fees tacked on. However, the food is good enough quality to not make me mind the extra costs so long as I sit on ass and wait for them to deliver. A side note is that they are a step up in modernizing an otherwise outdated Chinese-food delivery system. One day, maybe we’ll see online ordering? Regardless, give this place a try.
