Food was good. Took way too long to bring it out though. And service was very spotty. Don’t think we will be back. No good food is worth poor service

The food had great flavor! Maria was our waitress and took excellent care of us. The chips were crispy and the salsa had just enough kick. We never had to ask for our drinks to be refilled. The same for the salsa. It’s nice to find decent food off of the I5.

My advice to anyone considering Las Gaviotas in Patterson Ca is their food totally sucks and don’t waste your money.

Try «El Molcajete». It makes up for the rest of the plates. The bars is alway a fun place to hang out. Bartenders are always welcoming and very friendly.

Came here for lunch on the advice of my friend after a mediocre dinner the night before. I had the beef enchiladas plate. Chips and salsa were alright — I’ve had better salsa. Enchiladas were good as were the beans and rice. One thing about eating Mexican, you don’t have to eat for another 12 hours! Service was quick and attentive. Thanks.

I have been here many times with mixed reviews. It’s a small place and the décor leaves a lot to be desired but that doesn’t really effect my dining choices. Let me preface this review by saying my husband and I are your average redneck blue collar folks looking to have a decent dining experience. Long ago the food was good but the service was awful. Certain types of people were served quickly while others were ignored. Went back since they are simply the only full service mexican restaraunt in town and I’ll tolerate the poor service. It seemed there were fewer and fewer patrons each time we went in. They then had the bright idea to add live music-​a guy on an organ then 4 piece mariachi band. It was like being front row at a mexican festival-​WAY TOO LOUD. Couldn’t even talk across the table. The last time we went we walked out when our food hadn’t arrived within 30 minutes! They seemed confused as to why we were leaving. Thankfully that owner sold out to a real nice guy. The food was better and the service improved 100%. We were happy to be able to have a nice sit-​down mexican dinner. Now it seems the old owners are back. Same awful woman managing as before. A young lady walked by us at least 10 times wiping tables and shuffling chairs. We thought she was just the bus help. Turns out she was to be our waitress! Yup we were ignored as she took orders from 2 other tables that had the same aforementioned types of people. Then our food took 30 minutes to arrive… again! It was very mediocre. At 10pm they turn the place into a bar/​club atmosphere and turn up the music and add 2 more bartenders (to a bar that’s about 20 feet long). It was another awful experience here. We will NEVER go back!!!

I have eaten here on several occasions… the food is always good and the service promt & friendly. I was in Patterson with some clients who where buying a home in this area to be close to family. One of my clients spoke French, and limited English & a tiny bit of Spanish. He did not care for Mexican food… but I really had no where else I could think of to feed them that was in the area. We stopped in here & the waitress was so cute trying to explain the menu to him… he was impressed that she offered him recommendations. At the end of our meal he had completely cleared his plate & said he’d been mistaked he DID like Mexican food!!!

I look forward to coming here during my Patterson visits. The red enchilada sauce is very tasty… theres someting in it that is so familiar to me, but I can’t place it… but it is really good. Service is good, and the beer is cold. A good place to visit when I’m away from my hometown Mexican hotspots.

We’ve eaten here several times over the years and have always had a positive experience. The food is among the best around and although the atmospher isn’t The Ritz, it’s not a total «hole in the wall» either. Great service and tasty food keeps us going back each time we’re in Patterson.

If you don’t want to become deathly ill avoid this restaurant, I tried to frequent there restaurant even against my better judgment but after the second time I learned my lesson it’s hit or miss with them, one day it’s good tasting food and the next time you go it’s just so, so and you get really sick from it.

Good mexican food. Not the best, but still above well average.
The place is small, almost cramped, but not excessive. Has a small full bar area.
The bathrooms smell. yuck.
The food portions are very generous. And they like to use the seasonings there. Sometimes that can be an awesome thing. sometimes that can be overwhelming.
All and all, we’ll be going back.
