It looks like a rundown place, but oh my god do they have amazing food! This was my first time here today and it was amazing! It has so much character on the inside and their food is delicious. I will definitely be coming back to eat here again!

Disappointing. Ribs were so so. Sides were premade. This place looks the part but doesn’t deliver.

Waited forever to have our order taken. Waitress couldn’t even tell me how much meat was in a full order. Ribs were dry and had little flavor. Sides tasted like pre made canned goods from Walmart. Bathroom and dining area were filthy. This place should be shut down as a health hazard.

This place was terrible. Served dry roast beef and called it brisket! Pork was dry and tough as well. Rib was fair. Best part of the meal was the baked beans.

Eh. It’s hit or miss, sometimes the ribs are great and sometimes they are dry and you can barley chew them. It’s ok when they hit, and not good at all when they miss.

Great little BBQ joint with lots of history and plenty of flavor! Love the atmosphere and pig sandwich was superb! Meat was Crumbly and smokey with a spicy relish that made sandwich pop! Worth stopping in.

The place is everything you want in a dive with fantastic food! This is a five star place. I had the ribs and they were great. The beans are the best! Highly recommended.

Great off the beaten path place. I had the pig sandwich and everyone else had the burgers. Both were outstanding. If you have the time and are in the area I highly encourage you to stop in for a bite. The story of the restaurant alone is worth the visit.

I loved the place from the moment I walked in. The knotty pine paneling and the old newspapers. Real old school and Retro. My girlfriend had the pig San which which was really tasty. Especially with the western Carolina BBQ sauce. She also had the seasoned chili cheese fries. They were perfect especially with the home made chili. I had the prime rib with a baked potato. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and served with real ground horseradish. I can’t wait to go back and try it again!

i’m not even crazy about meat. and by that, i mean that i’m predominately a vegetarian, much to the chagrin of my beef-raising, very-red-meat-eating family. alas, as a girl who was raised on a bustling dairy farm and once had a diet based at least 30%-40% on meat, i can get down on some well-made barbecue. first of all, bob is adorable. he takes pride in what he does, and boy does he do it well. the ribs were perfect. they didn’t fall of the bone, but absolutely NO silverware necessary. get the spicy fries. i’m not sure what they were seasoned with, but i have a feeling it had to be with grease from some type of pork and cajun spices. the beans are record-breaking good and, weirdly, the nachos that we started with were licked clean. i think, actually, more than one person licked the same plate. that good. they resembled more of a taco salad, which was a nice contrast to the main course of meat and grease. all in all, if you’re in the area for whatever reason, go here. ask to see wiley, too! he’s the adopted wolf of bob. no, really. he’s a wolf and he’s sweet. and it’s just not every day you get a damn good barbecue meal and get to pet a wolf.

Opened during the depression, it stills wows. [Home of one stop of the OKIENOODLINGINVITATIONALTOURNAMENT, first Saturday after July 4th.] Fabulous BBQ, and if your lucky enough to attend a catered event, FRANKOMA Pottery dishes! Custom made Ice cream, so leave room for dessert.

Great place to eat if you can follow their hours. Best Bar B Que in town, maybe the county. Grew up eating here and enjoy coming back. Great ribs, great pig sandwich, great fries. And of course the Okie Noodlin every June. This place has been around since the 30’s, really. Drive up window if you order ahead, also has a bar through out the restaurant.

Food — 4 stars Sauce — 3 stars Service — 4 stars Store Intangibles — 5 stars It won’t take you long as a visitor to this quaint little town before someone suggests you head over to the Pig Shop and have a meal. I had the pig sandwich which is your basic pulled pork and it was very good. The meat was tender and tasty, and the sandwich was a good portion. Unfortunately, for me, bbq is all about the sauce and the sauce here left a bit to be desired. It’s a mildly sweet sauce with a pretty healthy dose of vinegar. This was their«mild» sauce I guess, so if they would just add a sweet sauce, I would be a huge fan. Still, it was definitely a good meal, especially in a town which doesn’t really have a lot to offer in the way of original dining. As for the store itself, it’s def worth a stop just to see the amount of history in this place. They started around the Great Depression and have been through plenty by the looks of the history strewn about their walls. It would probably take you a few days to hear all the stories… but hey, at least you’ve got good food and plenty of friendly faces to keep you company.

i was taken here a few weeks ago by some locals. when i first walked it smelled like the best bbq you could ever imagine. you know, just the right amount of smoke, just the right amount of meat and sweet aroma in the air. bbq is what they do and what they are apparently famous for. i had a pig sammich and it was tasty. i heard there is some sort of noodlin’ party they have every summer that has a good turn out and is fun.
