WARNING: This is NOT a campground for families! This is a place where the homeless and/or those with a criminal record who have nowhere else to go live during desperate times or when they are fleeing from authorities. Even these people do not want to be there(this includes sex-offenders, felons, mentally ill, etc.). There are a lot of problems with regards to sanitation(including unsafe water due to the nearby fields which grow citrus fruits and gardens involving dangerous pesticides and the nearby waste-ponds from the casinos), drugs, violence, crime(the sheriff is there frequently, if you are considering coming here I would suggest calling the local Sheriff’s office and asking their opinion about Rancho Corrido), management(lack of, since those that work here are uneducated and highly unqualified to do even their basic jobs), utilities(despite the promises, water is not available at every site as drunk drivers have ran over the majority of the facets and electricity is NOT provided) and facilities(the restrooms have limited hours and are not available 24⁄7 and the alternative porta-potties are not emptied as there are only for the ENTIRE campground). The drinking and drugs is a huge problem, as at night it can be dangerous with the drunk drivers joyriding through the campsites and you hear a lot of domestic violence echoing from the campers. The mentally ill are also a problem, as you can not always be sure who does or does not have a weapon, which of course regardless does not ensure your safety. The pit bulls that are used as fighting/guard dogs are numerous and they sometimes break free of their makeshift enclosures. Please beware, if you are looking to take a vacation this is NOT a place for you. If you are running from the law, this could be the place for you, as you are surrounded by Indian Reservations and Pauma Valley in unincorporated, making it a prime spot; you will fit right in. Just DON’T DRINKTHEWATER!

I am writing from the perspective of a resident at Rancho Corrido. The office management and store staff are friendly and nice people. There are also good people who live at the park. That being said I can not recommend someone moivng in! The maintenance department is VERY disorganized and does a poor job. For example, a few months ago I moved into a rental unit at the park. About 4 weeks before moving in I did a walk through and mentioned all the items that needed repairs. When I arrived to move in I saw none of the things were done. Over three months later I am still working to get repairs done. The latest one is the replacement of a bedroom window. On Memorial Day a maintence man showed up and started banging on the wall just outside my bedroom at 7:30 in the morning. He created a big hole in the wall when he took at the window. After removing the window he discovered he didn’t have a window to put in. And he left. Later that day I found another maintenance person willing to put the window in they bought to replace the broken one. He was there until 9:30 pm that night. My entire Memorial Day was spent having my bedroom torn up & a hole in the wall that let flys in. It is two weeks later and a couple more times a maintence man has shown up to do work but it is still not done. In the meantime I have no covering for my bedroom window. This is just example to point out the dysfunctionality of the maintenace at the park. The bottom line … Don’t Move In!!!
