Pawling Tavern

Definitely the local homestyle bar. Super friendly people good staff. Most reasonable food around!!. Burgers and wings are a must have. often have entertainment on the weekends. It kind of feels like cheers.

I love this place. It’s a nice alternative to the high class McKinney & Doyle bar and Ben is a great bartender. Live music nights are loud, but a total blast.

Is it a dive? Absolutely. However, the nostalgia of the Pawling Tavern is too good to pass up. Best wings, burgers, and turkey clubs in the area — hands down. Excellent prices, generous pours, and good company if you’re ready to have a very good time.

Don’t care for this bar. Like in many local bars, they tend to serve liquor beyond drinking capacities for drivers. A few weeks ago, they served some bikers that were too drunk to stand up n walk. They left the bar. One of them crashed a cruiser into a parked car. The other guy tried to start a fight with the driver of the parked car. Then the cops stepped in. After about 30 minutes, all bikers arrested for DWI n leaving the scene of an accident.
Pawling tavern is not cool n they don’t have my respect.

Local watering hole with great burgers and wings. Friendly service. Because of the bar crowd who range from just 21 to 100, i wouldn’t bring children in here — unless you want them to see their teachers, babysitters and bus drivers getting drunk.

Neighborhood place with good food, cold and generous drinks, and the live music which they often bring in is amazingly good.
Think Cheers with a small town feeling.
Art is an old school barkeep. It appears that Ben has learned a lot from him.
I can easily say there is nothing better than here, anywhere near here.
As a note to AT hikers, you will feel more than welcome by the staff and patrons, there is a laundromat next door, and it’s not unusual for locals to offer a ride back to the trail.

Pawling Tavern rules. It’s a great neighborhood bar that has fantastic food. What more does one need?
The staff is friendly and the drinks are cold but it’s the quality of the food is what makes the PT a total «No Brainer.»
I order a dozen chicken wings, extra crispy, extra spicy. You would be hard pressed to find chicken wings done better anywhere.
I also get the occasional steamers, burger or even a steak. But, the wings are so good, it’s difficult to order anything else.
Good food for a good price is just impossible to neglect. As long as Ben and his team are operating, I’ll always be returning.

When I reach a good drunk, i can do anything. like NOW! YES! i am drunk on the metro north becuase i missed a train and had
to kill an hour here at the Pawling Tavern! It was amazing. I talked to people about, NASCAR, the local cross country skiing trails and, of course, the New Jersey pine Barrens.
SO to all you appalachain trail hikers like me looking for a beer, stop in, (I know you are the only ones that will be reading about this save for that extra weird and female artist from Bushwick on weekend holiday… p. s., said artist, please send me a Unilocal message and lets get a drink whilst debating Pawling MOD vs Wassaic Mondrian Revival))

I really like the food here. It’s simple, honest and done well.
Everyone here is always nice, can’t complain. I haven’t found cheaper eats anywhere in the Hudson Valley. Their mac salad is awesome. I always get the teriyaki wings as an app. no matter what I’m ordering. The food has always been consistant and sattisfied my hunger. I always leave pretty content. It’s a place I’d like to go to more often.

WOO HOO 3 beers on tap, lol. This comfortable village bar not really a dive serves great burgers plus your basic bar favorites till late. You will see your regulars here plus on occasion a few local celebrities who come here to relax and not be bothered. Depending on the bartender be careful as the free hand pours can be spectacular. I have seen screwdrivers in pint glasses where the orange is just for show! Hey its not trendy but its honest with its prices and unless your a wine drinker you will go home buzzed full and happy! They have wine, barefoot etc. If you must and lately I have seen a few cosmo’s and martini’s in the mix. If you had 2 much the bartenders will call you a cab no problem.
ALSO NOTE, Appalachian trail walkers are welcome and they even have a journal with stories and notes from walkers throughout the years, not a walker, ask nicely and they may show you it. Great for some quick one while waiting for the train.
