The fours is only for the great fresh food that they serve here. This place is run down and has zero atmosphere, so don’t expect much.
The restaurant is a small spot with seating for about 10 people. They have a deli style open glass fridge in the middle of the place so you can see the prepared items and kebabs.
My wife and I both ordered the chicken kabab platter, 9 dollars. Delicious fresh kebabs with chicken and vegetables, rice, and salad. So light and well seasoned food. The kind of meal that you feel good after you eat it, because all of the items are pretty healthy too.
Tip: The item to order here is the Tabouleh!!! The most delicious version I have ever had. You can get a Hummus and Tabouleh app plate with pita bread for about 7 bucks, it’s a must.
It’s not much to look at, but the food they are serving is pretty damn good. Highly recommended.

The kebab plates here are delicious. Tabouleh was the best I’ve ever had and in fact it’s worth coming for that alone. I also got the grape leaves since they were so highly rated but will not order them again — just not my personal preference.
The restaurant itself is clean but nothing to write home about; take out is a good choice since everything travels well. I called ahead and while it seemed like they didn’t do a lot of phone orders (they didn’t even bother asking for my name and my bag was the only one waiting) it was convenient and my order was ready when I arrived.
Lots of gems in this neighborhood!

Some of the best Arabic food I’ve had with a very cheap price point. I’ve been going to this place for years and have never had a complaint about the food.

Shish Kabob is a mom and pop kinda disheveled looking space in a nowhere type of neighborhood. But when I consider going here, my mouth waters thinking about 2 menu items in particular:
1. Tabbouleh — BY FAR the BEST tabbouleh I’ve had at any middle eastern/​Lebanese restaurant in RI and MA. It’s absurd how good it is!
2. Chicken kabob — BY FAR the most tender and flavorful chicken kabob I’ve had in RI.
Lebanese/​Syrian/​Mediterranean food done well is so healthy and delicious, but the problem with the better known quick serve spots in RI that serve this type of food is that it’s usually very greasy or otherwise under-​/​over-​seasoned. Shish Kabob doesn’t take any shortcuts to the food preparation, and you can taste the difference how much better this kind of food is here than at any of the other middle eastern/​quick serve pockets places around. Seriously, I think the chef can make a decent living if he went and bottled his Lebanese dressings for retail.
Which also brings me to the only reason why this place isn’t a 5: convenience and consistency. The food is awesome when the cook doesn’t rush, but if he gets busy, be prepared to wait… and wait… and maybe wait some more. I wish Shish Kabob would open up a food truck or restaurant in Providence tho, I’d probably eat there weekly if it was closer to home base.

This is probably my tenth visit to Shish Kabob, but my very first Unilocal.My mom and I originally found this gem about 12 years ago and have come here every time I come home to visit my family in RI.
It doesn’t look like much on the outside, but don’t let it scare you away! If you don’t stop in you are most def missing out on excellent food and excellent customer service by the very nice owner.
For appetizers we had the Tabouleh and stuffed grape leaves… one word magnificent! We ordered the beef kabob platters cooked medium rare, by the way was right on the money and perfectly delicious. It came with salad (ask for the Lebanese dressing, you will not be disappointed) and rice.
If I could 6 stars I would. Needless to say we will be returning continuously.

Shish Kabob reminds me of the food my grandmother makes, and that’s great since she lives clear across the country.
The food is definitely authentic Lebanese/​Syrian, and is absolutely delicious in a home made way. On a Thursday for lunch there was only one gentleman there cooking the food, the owner of the place. He was extremely nice, and worked as quickly as he could for one person.
Don’t come here expecting a gourmet dining experience, but for the comfortable, homey feeling, and the ability to sit and talk with your dining partner for hours without any interruption.
I will definitely be back, especially with friends I want to introduce to middle eastern cuisine!
The prices don’t hurt either — $ 7.99 for a beef kabob platter with rice, salad, and Arabic bread. Mmmmm

I found this place about a month ago. My sister and I had a hankering for Mediterranean food and we tried this place out. It has the best lamb kabobs I have ever tasted! The always-​fresh tabbouleh and baba ghanoush go perfectly with fresh pita bread. Everything is made to order. The owner always prepares the meals using the freshest ingredients. The chicken kabob is also excellent!

Best kafta (burger) around. Everything is fresh and amazing. John is very welcoming and is my go to for lunch. He also makes the best tabbouleh in Providence.

Very good falafel. A bit less filling — and filled — than East Side Pockets in Providence, but the seasonings were tasty and the falafel fresh cooked. We also liked the grape leaves.

I pass this place every day and have always thought about stopping. So glad I finally did today! I picked up a chicken wrap, falafel wrap, tabbouleh, and grape leaves. Wow! Everything was so fresh and absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to go back!
