I heard that when they started there were some issues… But I was there recently and I just LOVED it! The food was so good, the service was very good to. And I found out that they have a bar and the drink that I had was amazing. There’s no reason to me for not going there again! It’s a really cute and good place to go. Congratulations TUGAS.

I will have to say that, wow, these folks really care about their business, customer service, and food quality. I’ll admit that they totally stepped it up! I received in the mail a gift certificate for $ 25 to try them again after not having the best experience on father’s day. I figured I’d come in for lunch and try that instead of breakfast. Boy, was I pleased. The fresh bread came to the table warm and toasty, along with some butter and Portuguese olives. I ordered an item off the specials menu: a pork and little necks dish(carne alentejana), but with shrimp swapped out for the clams. Delicious. Only wish there were that signature sauce on it, as I found the dish overall a little dry. Nevertheless, the pork was perfectly marinated and tender, the potatoes super delicious and crispy, and the shrimp prepared(I assume) Mozambique style was lovely. My partner ordered the Portuguese steak(bife a casa). It was prepared continental style with a thinly pounded steak, slice of ham, and fried egg. The sauce/gravy was flavorful and the potatoes again were crispy and perfect. Steak was requested medium and it did not disappoint. Super tender and delicious! Best Portuguese steak in the area, hands down. Possibly my favorite part of that whole dish, believe it or not, was the rice. Holy good God in heaven. It was slightly sticky like Asian rice, with a wonderful flavor of butter and onion. I just wanted to live in that bowl of rice. Wow. At this point in the meal, I was thinking, OK, I’m going to have to update this review to a four star. Then… THEN… they came out with a dessert sampling on the house. A trinity of delights. The poached pear was out of this world with a fruit compote and ice cream. The Portuguese semi-soft cheese served with marmalade and a fresh fig — amazing! The cupcake, well, who doesn’t like Portuguese cupcakes? So yeah, they impressed. The owner checked on us several times, chatted with us about the menu, and made my latte herself(which was perfect). I can say they’ve redeemed themselves and made a believer out of me! I’ll be back for sure, you should too!

We decided to try tugas for fathers day. Each booth had a TV which is great to keep the kids entertained. The Portuguese décor is great and creates a great atmosphere. The galao was great, complimented by delta sugar! I had the Popeye omelette which was tasty, and full of fresh ingredients. There weren’t that many customers, but unfortunately it didn’t translate into quick service. It was about an hour 15 minutes to be served. It could be because they were swamped in the morning or just getting their bearings with it being a new restaurant. This is probably the same reason behind the empty dessert trays and why they were out of chourico hash browns which was a bummer. The kids got a surprise visit from elmo which they loved. The owner came by to check on everything. We will return!

Not a happy customer. Went here w/hubby & family for a Father’s Day brunch. The first thing you noticed when you walked in the door was a horrible smell. The place was full, and nobody looked concerned, so we decided to give it a try anyway. Mistake. Service was painfully slow. For example, my husband and I both ordered coffee. About five minutes later, I got my coffee. 15 minutes after that, we finally got the waitress’s attention, and my husband got his coffee. Then, when he put the cream in it, it curled! Another 29 minutes passed by before the waitress finally came over and replaced his coffee. Also, we waited close to an hour for breakfast to be served. And when it was served, a few of us were missing parts of our order. This is a nice segue to the food. There were 7 people in our party. Some of us were pleased with our meals. But others were either very dissatisfied, or disappointed to say the least. My youngest got a waffle with chocolate chips and whipped cream; she like it. My second youngest got Nutella French toast: pretty good, but small portion… he was absolutely looking for more food. My oldest got a combination of eggs, bacon, sausage, and French toast made from Portuguese sweetbread; the French toast was pretty good, the rest was just OK. I got an omelette called«drop it like it’s hot»; that was pretty good as well. However, almost everyone else really didn’t like at least one aspect of their meal. One of the items on my husband plate tasted like it was rancid. The other complaint I have is that the wait staff, though pleasant enough, was not very knowledgeable about anything. They didn’t know if they could make a certain drink decaf, they didn’t know what table ordered what food and tried to bring us food that didn’t belong to us, they didn’t know the menu or what was included with the dishes. And our waitress looked completely overwhelmed, despite the fact that there were only a few other tables occupied. I don’t often give poor reviews, but this warranted one. I won’t be back.
