Just hamburgers is just off the road, just 45 minutes away and just amazing. We stopped here late on the way to our flight in Chicago. We each had a double cheese burger with everything, fries and milkshakes. All together we spelt $ 12.00 The fries are the best I have every had in fast food. Slaty, crispy and hot. The burger was juicy and classically good with a slight crunch. The milkshake was good! Not amazing, but good. I would go back for sure! Keep this place alive!

Excellent sliders served by really nice people. Wish I lived closer so I could get them more. Often!

This place smells delicious when you drive or walk by. The fries are good and chicken sandwiches are decent. The burgers are just too salty. It’s like a thin patty of over salted grease on a bun. I think the people who live local have no idea of what a good burger is!

I’m not sure what you call this kind of place in the Midwest, but back in the South, it would have been a dairymaid. Maybe that translates up here too? Anyway, it’s a tiny little hamburger joint that specializes in just a few things – burgers, fries, milkshakes… that sort of thing. I worked at a place like this all throughout high school down in Louisiana, so Just Hamburgers was a trip down memory lane for me. When I first arrived with my friends, I was totally confused. The tiny shop is where you wait in line to order and then wait in line again to pick up your food. I was mostly clueless how this worked and had to get help from the regulars and the lovely lady working. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, so eventually I figured it all out. There’s no space inside for dining, so you’ve either gotta take your food to go or sit outside at the picnic tables. All the food was simple and delicious! I had a double cheeseburger(they’re really thin, get the double) and a side of baked beans and potato salad. All that plus two bottles of water – for about $ 6. And don’t forget your cash… no cards here! I really enjoyed my first trip to Just Hamburgers, and I can’t wait to go again when I’m back in Paxton.

Great place! Mainly locals and you will get a delicious burger and fries — for very little money. It’s strictly carry out but there are picnic tables in front or your car if the weather is lousy. Note the odd hours so you might have to juggle a little bit to get your burger — but don’t miss it. Paxton is a nice little town and it’s right off of I-57. Cash only!

The best places to eat in small towns are packed with locals, and Just Hamburgers is no exception. The service is fast and friendly. The burgers are great. The prices are super cheap. It’ll be a bit old fashioned and a culture shock if you’re fresh from the burbs, but if you’re looking for great burgers at a good price, this is the place to go. Fyi, There’s no inside seating. There is an outside patio. People usually just sit and eat in their cars. You order at the counter and then stand and wait for your order. And check the hours before you go, they’re not open outside of normal meal times.

EVERYTHING is good from here. They’re super busy at lunch time and parking can be rather difficult. The line moves fast and the food is hot and ready quick. The prices can’t be beat! I am very particular about my burgers and hands down this is a GREAT one! Well worth the trip if you’re coming in from out of town. Be careful and remember to bring cash as they don’t accept credit or debit cards. They accept local checks only. Enjoy!

Just love finding these little greasy gems! Well put together burger with all the fixins. I got the double cheeseburger and an order of fries. The burger was packed fill of flavor and dripping cheese. Our total was $ 7.33 for two double cheeseburgers and two order of fries. You can’t find a meal that cheap anymore! Wish I could waste enough time in that little town to stop in again!

Coming from the Western Suburbs with myriad dining options at my disposal, I was in for a culture shock. As the new physical education and fitness training teacher, I was told during my interview that Paxton is known for a few things. A great monster truck driver named Tom Meents(9-time champion) and Bill Morrison who is in the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. I have seen the former at PBL High School Football games and he loves giving it to the opposing coaches and fans. That is not what I am here for ladies and gentleman. I am here to review Just Hamburgers. In this small town of 4601(I added the one since I moved here recently) everyone knows everyone. I have over 100 students and every single one polled(not scientific) had been to «Just» as the locals call it. I was the only one who had not been to this Burger Mecca. Many of my students know that I practice very healthy habits, but one of those healthy habits is rewarding myself every once in a while with food that I should not be putting into my body due to the fact that it will tear apart my insides. Little do said students know that I enjoy large omelets, pancakes, and pizza almost weekly as well as nightly dessert. It’s about balance… but I will get off my soap box of fitness and wellness… for now. This place has that small town feel because quite frankly ladies and gentleman, it is a small town. You walk in and the menu is posted right next to the register. No «to go» menus due to the fact that this place has hours Monday-Saturday 11AM-130PM and 4 – 7PM. Closed Sunday, as these small towns keep the Sabbath holy. Whatever, I am good with that. I wanted to taste these burgers so I went in with high expectations. I went with the double bacon hamburger with lettuce, tomato, and onion. I had the bun put to the side because quite frankly I know I wouldn’t need it. I can honestly say this is the best burger I have ever had. It was so good I ended up buying a «Just» shirt for my brother because I hope he has the opportunity to try this gem soon. He lives in the suburbs, but I want him to rep the sh*t out of this place. If you’re ever on your way down I-57, stop off exit 261 in Paxton and stop by Just Hamburgers. I love burgers, chicken sausage, pizza, pancakes, and eggs, so you know my palette is diverse. This is small town grease/charm at its best. Small town prices… If I wanted to burgers it wouldn’t be more than $ 6 including tax. Oh American Gluttony! I didn’t even get fries… WHONEEDSTHOSEEMPTYCARBOHYDRATES!!! I AMALLABOUTEATINGLIKE A CAVEMAN! Caveman love ground beef, bacon, and vegetable. Caveman need new clothes. Caveman doesn’t like to wear woolly mammoth fur in fall. JUST stop by!

You have to visit this family owned foodie high. Possibly the BEST hamburger joint in all of the mid-west. I don’t know how to describe this place. Its small. There are no places to sit down. The hours are limited. Yet the service is quick, the food is AMAZING. Everything is fresh. The prices are super cheap. The place opens at 11 a.m., and the line is already stacked at the door. I suggest the double cheese with bacon. There is a tasty sauce I cannot put my finger on, not sure what it is, possibly a family secret? Damn delish people. They serve specials every night of the week. Between pork sandwich, steak sandwich, pizza burger, catfish, you name it. Cole slaw is ridiculously good. God bless you Just Hamburgers. Keep it real, keep it fresh, and I;ll be back.

What can you say fresh gound meat, great buns, nice cheese, get them with everything and you have the best burger around. The one thing people don’t seem to know are the hours they are monday — friday 11:00 to 1:30 and 4:00 to 7:00, saturday 11:00 — 1:30, sunday closed. The fries are ok, skip the fries get another burger instead. But its so cheap you can get the fries to. Bacon double chesse burger dosen’t get any better then that. Less then 2 buck for a cheese burger get the dog one to, Mad Max likes them much better then McDonalds.

I love this hamburger place! I grew in CA and since I was little, I have been coming here! It has been a family tradition for over 20 years. You cannot leave Paxton, IL or any of the surrounding areas without coming here! I have tried a lot of burger places and these are by far the best hamburgers I have ever had!!!

Where to start. My order. 2 Dbl bac cheese loaded, 2 hamburgers, 3 orders of fries and a small shake only $ 12.00! There are no bathrooms due to the small size of the place but when the lady heard my daughter had to pee, she was kind enough to let her use the employe’s bathroom. I love the atmosphere. It gives you a comfortable small friendly town feeling. I’ll be back anytime I’m in the area!

My husband is the burger nut in the family, so I was along for the ride to check out these burgers. I will say, however, that I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the meat had a great flavor. Yes, the bun was super soft. Yes, the cheese was like buttah. The fries I could have taken or left, but they were perfectly fine, of the medium cut variety, no skin on. And the prices were super reasonable. Less than $ 2 for a single cheese burger and 80 cents for a bottled water. Any time we are out that way I will gladly stop by Just Hamburgers for a meal.

Wow! What can I say? Until yesterday, the best Midwest style«Smashed Burger» that I have had was Krekel’s Custard in Decatur. But these burgers are by far the BEST I have ever had. The bun is a soft envelope that perfectly surrounds the juicy, heavenly goodness inside. The double cheeseburger is a perfect match of just the right beef, just the right cheese, and a perfect size when you smoosh the bun down. The french fries are a perfect size, just a tad larger than the ones at Steak N Shake, with just the right amount of salt. If anyone remembers«Mr Quick» restaurants, the fries are nearly identical. We had one cheeseburger, one double cheeseburger, two fries and two bottled waters. Our price? $ 7.12 That is not a MISPRINT! When you enter the shop, you’ll see two lines. One for the cash register, and one for a small window in the kitchen. Place your order at the cash register, then move to the line for the kitchen. You’ll soon be rewarded with some of the juiciest, most flavorful hamburgers you’ll ever have. I guarantee it! The joint is carryout only, with limited hours(We were unable to get their hours of operation, they were really busy!) Cash or local check ONLY! Make the trek to Paxton, IL– you know you want to!

Cheeseburger nirvana. No one else makes a burger that even comes close. The beef they use is out of this world and makes you realize what a sorry excuse for a burger most fast food joints serve. Prices are lower than the chains and service is twice as fast. The fries and fountain drinks are great too. I’ve tried a few other things on their menu-the steak sandwich, the shrimp, and didn’t like those that much. Just stick with the burgers and you’ll go away very, very happy!

This has to be the best hamburger joint in the mid-west. You simply cannot beat the dirt cheap prices on the food. You can literally stuff yourself for under five dollars. Just Hamburgers serves more than just burgers. Each night there are specials, from pork tenderloin, steak sandwiches, you name it. The bacon is all crispy and fresh, and after speaking with owner I found out the grind their own meat, which you can taste with each bite. I can talk enough about the fries, the are unbeatable. If you are ever in the Paxton area, makes sure to stop by this little gem. You will not be let down!
