We were there last Sunday, when we ordered we were told there was no bacon, ranch dressing, tomatoes, etc. We were hungry so we decided to eat there anyway. The food was nearly inedible! The produce(what of it there was) was brown and wilted and the rest of the food had no flavor. I used to look forward to eating here but after this I don’t think we will be back.

My boyfriend and I decided to eat here for lunch since we didn’t want to drive 30 mins back into town. It had pretty decent reviews and my boyfriend had come here before a very long time ago for breakfast when he was a younger teen. We missed breakfast so we decided lunch would be fine. The man who sat us was very outgoing and friendly, our waitress on the other hand was very frazzled and just generally put off a bad vibe for me. Maybe she was having a rough day, so I didn’t worry too much about it. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch sandwich that they said was a big hit, and my boyfriend got the French dip. I like my au jous on the saltier side and so does he, and it was just that. French dip was good, fries were good, but my sandwich was just kind of sad. Their ranch tasted very funny. It was incredibly sweet. Tasted like wishbone or hidden valley, but maybe one that had been sitting on the shelf a little too long. My sandwich came out on a hot dog bun that was toasted, but immediately fell apart completely when I picked it up. Tasted very stale. The chicken was very bland and the presentation of the sandwich itself made it difficult and very messy to eat. Portions were all out of whack for the sandwich to fit together. I would probably come here again to try the breakfast, but lunch will be a no go for me.

Worst prime rib I’ve ever had. Tastes like it was microwaved or boiled. Our party ordered 4 prime ribs — none cooked to order. Two ordered«medium,» two ordered«medium rare,» all done«well» with no flavor. Appearance of the meat was a grey, sickly color. Texture was dry and grainy. Way overpriced for a piece of gross roast beef. Mashed potatoes tasted like they came out of a box. Gravy tasted like it came out of a jar. Corn was weird — had a vinegar taste to it.

«New» owner Sheila. She has been around CC for a bit doing different things. This«change» has been quite a positive for the business. First off, I frequently go to Christopher Creek with the family. This«new» Creekside is fantastic. Food, service all top notch. I can now give 5 stars to what I hope will be a successful reboot of a local fixture!

Good food, but«steak house» is misleading. Its really more of a diner(reuben, patty melt, etc.) etc). The staff is kind and helpful the food is great– if your expectations are diner fare. Most of the negative reviews I read seem to be holding the place to an unfair standard(«i expected fancier salad» «classier ambiance» «a fancier prime rib» etc). Its not a michelin 3 star steakhouse; It is a decent small town diner. They have cheap, tasty food. The breakfast burrito is $ 4 and filling, we grabbed a few before hiking a few times and they were perfect. I cant decide between 3 – 4 stars.

We had the meat loaf dinner and the fish fry all you can eat. Pete loved the meat loaf. The fried fish was by far the best I have had in a long time. Crunchy batter outside and moist fish inside. Cole slaw was fresh and wasn’t the overly dressing end out. We’ll try the breakfast this morning and report our findings. :-)

Went here tonight and was excited. My husband got prime rib I got the recommended cheeseburger. First of all, the food was lukewarm at best. The prime rib was well done when my husband ordered rare. The only time the waitress came to check in us we told her we needed the butter and sour cream for baked potato. That was a long wait. Old bun fell apart on cheeseburger. Our check was put on the table promptly without even asking if we may like dessert or another drink. The worst part is we brought our own food but my husband saw«steakhouse» and had to go.

We came here for Mother’s Day dinner because we were up at my parent’s cabin and my husband didn’t want to cook dinner. We hadn’t been in years and didn’t know it was under new ownership. We were pleasantly surprised to find it much improved! My husband got the Marshall Trimble chicken fried steak and loved it. He was raving about the chunky mashed potatoes. I got a salad, I can’t remember which one, but it was delicious and the blue cheese dressing was chunky. My son(6) got a kids menu hamburger and it was huge! You could tell they made the hamburgers themselves – no frozen food here. We are definitely going to make it a point to visit here every time we go to the cabin.

Came in with a group of 8 hungry hunters at a little after 7 p.m. On a Sunday. Even though they closed at 8 and were starting to clean up, the waitress graciously welcomed us! I didn’t get her name but many thanks to both you and the cook! I had the Kobe beef chopped steak special, which was cooked to perfection and very tasty! The portions were large and we topped it off with a piece of VERY delicious apple pie! I wished there was a little more steak selection, a good ribeye or T-bone would have tasted good, but overall we were very happy with our dinner! We’ll be back!

We had a welcoming greeting and a waitress that was sincere about giving great service and I really appreciate that on any road trip. It just makes a trip out of town so much more pleasant. We ordered breakfast and loved that they had crispy hash browns cooked perfectly(just like I love them). The sausage patties were also fantastic(my favorite on the plate) and the rye marble toast was warm and of great quality. The only complaint that I had was that the eggs didn’t seem fresh and were tasteless(comparable to tofu) and were not completely cooked as requested(over medium). They were super runny eggs with a very light yellow yolk and not the dark gold yolk that I’m used to having when I come here for breakfast. I would have given it 5 stars if the eggs were better.

Steak(filet mignon) last Saturday night was not too good. then again I walked in right before closing. Tried the pizza this weekend, tasted pretty good but crust was a bit under baked. Good service though! I’ll try them again.

Ive been coming to creekside for 20+ years and have considered it a must stop every chance when we stay at our nearby family cabin. I especially loved the mad jack(patty melt with green chili) with the added hamburger patty. Sadly, the place has changed ownership and it has fallen off the cliff. And the worst part — no more mad jack at dinner time. They’ve determined that we shouldnt be eating that for dinner, only lunch. We will be eating for the next 20 years someplace else…

DONTDOIT! This is under new ownership and is not even worth half a star. Our cabin at Christopher creek advertised this restaurant with a buffet. We were starving and thought a buffet should do the trick. At 14 dollars a person the lumpy nasty gravy, 4 x fried chicken, and brown lettuce in the salad bar was beYond disappointing. It was a scam .My husband is a saint and wouldn’t let me complain or request any refund, but I think you should know you would be better off grabbing snacks at the convenient store down the road. $ 45 was an expensive lesson when I could have cooked at my cabin.

Family decided to go off the beaten track on the way home from Pinetop. I ordered the fried chicken w mashed potatoes. It looked ok when it came, but there was no meat on the chicken. It was like eating fried bones. It took over 15 minutes for the server to bring our drinks and there was only one other table with guests. Another in our group ordered fish and chips. It came with only 2 pieces of fish and he found 2 hairs in his potatoes. I could go on, but will warn you not to bother with this place.

Not much to look at but the food is outstanding. Well worth the short drive off of the 260. The breakfast sandwich is very good & the pizza is highly recommended !

Great place, great meal. Definitely had a rustic, woodsy feel to it, but sometimes you get the best meals at those types of places. This place didn’t disappoint. Ordered fried mushrooms as an appetizer, and they were gigantic! We got twice the amount I expected, too. My wife loved her NY strip, and my grilled trout was delicious. The potato and ham soup I got before the meal was obviously homemade and tasty. We even noticed how good the garlic toast was. Good beer and wine selection as well, though there aren’t any drafts — everything is bottles. We’d planned to go back for breakfast the next morning, but we were still too full. If we’re ever back in the area we will definitely go back. And thanks, Marcia(hostess and bartender extraordinaire), for the enjoyable conversation!

I visited the restaurant while on a long motorcycle ride. We called ahead and they had it all set up for our large group near the back of the restaurant. Food was all home-made and excellent, portions were modest but filling, and best of all was the fresh brewed iced tea! Awesome! I would go again just for the iced tea!
