I love their frybread, best I have ever had in these parts, 1104 S Beeline in the School Bus parked out front of Western Village, stop by and try it!

Blah. Not even fresh or homemade beans, costs 3 $ more for their«taco» which is just lettuce tomato and onion in addition to Rosaritas beans and cheese. And they don’t even give you any salsa unless you buy the whole damn jar. Oh and they take cash only. Note to self: don’t stop at the first place you see off the freeway!

What a cute little food truck in the middle of small-town Arizona! I love Indian tacos, and this place delivered! Nothing fancy, only a handful of options. But the fry bread is done right, which is what makes or breaks Indian tacos.

Drove up to Payson for a day trip this Sunday. Saw the Indian Fry Bread and was super excited to get one with honey and powdered sugar… Drove up. CLOSED and its 2 ½ hours before closing. They’re only open 3 days a week for a few hours, you’d think they wouldn’t be closed or run out of fry bread ingredients… Disappointment :(

I feel bad giving a bad review here — the people were nice and they’ve got a nice humble frybread business out of a converted trailer. Also, for all I know, I don’t like frybread. I haven’t had it before. However, as a total tourist passing through this town to get gas, we saw the sign and read a few reviews on Unilocal that were super positive so we gave it a try. If my story sounds like yours I need to do for you what nobody did for me. That is warn you first that frybread isn’t good. It’s a savory version of funnel cake, that sweet, fried nothing that they make at carnivals. So just basically crispy chewy grease. Then they make«tacos» out of the grease bomb. It’s just shredded iceberg lettuce, super low quality shredded cheddar, chopped tomatoes, and beans — none of which is seasoned at all. It is as close to tasting like nothing as possible and it feels really unhealthy. I would give an extra star if they did anything legit like make their own salsa. But they don’t. If you already like frybread, you may like this place.

Yes, one of the most memorable things I have ever eaten. We had it with honey and I only wish I could have gone back for another. AMAZING.

I had been trolling around Phoenix strip malls during my last AZ trip looking for a joint with a little more local flavor, but everything reminded me too much of back home in CA. One day, I decided to roll out into the Tonto National Forest for a hike, and I caught a glimpse of an old school bus parked off the freeway with a funky painted sign on it that indicated«Indian Fry Bread». Yeah, that’s about as local as it gets. Needless to say, I stopped for some grub and sat down with owner Jerri J’s husband, an older Italian man with braided long hair and a Native American style he called«Wop-ajo». As I sat at the makeshift tables, he told me about how he was in the vinyl pool business for 50 years, and how the tables were crafted by him. On the other side of me was an old miner/railroad worker who had 25 years of stories from the local copper mines. These guys were CHARACTERS in the best sense. My group and I ordered Indian tacos all around and we got a couple Honey and Powdered Sugar breads. The taco was composed of a fry bread which was fried slightly crispy and flaky on the outside, but doughy and a little chewy inside. It was folded over a spoonful of warm, creamy refried beans and cool, refreshing lettuce and tomatoes, with thinly grated cheddar cheese on top. Finally, to elevate the flavors, it was served with a mildly spicy, thin, red hot sauce out of a squeeze bottle. The taco was substantial enough to stick to my ribs, but it did not weigh me down with greasiness. The honey bread was totally decadent. While the taco was certainly tasty, to me the honey bread just felt right. It felt like the warm, oozing honey was made for the fry bread, especially in the real honey-soaked spots that get all soft and spongy with honey. The crispy edges and soft, honey-soaked middle made a killer textural combo, and the honey itself was right on point. I would say this little joint is worth its weight in gold in terms of local flavor. To be clear, the food is by no means pretentious, and there is nothing gastronomically groundbreaking going on here. It’s just a cool little spot to enjoy some unique, tasty street food and meet some interesting people.

Great tasting, crispy yet soft. Fresh, light and won’t weigh you down. True homemade taste, I just wish I was closer. Just one more thing to look forward to when headed into Payson. Jeri & J are a pleasure to meet. Thanks Jeri and hood luck! We’re rooting for you. Michael & Raquel

This is the absolute greatest fry bread I’ve ever had on earth. I would make the two hour drive from Phoenix alone just to eat this fry bread.

Good fry bread. Fast food-ish. Nothing great but a fun alternative. The experience(eating at a bus outside a casino) was better than the food which was good but not great.

Sign says only open on Fri and Sat now. Sun hours were tapped over and that’s when we were there so I don’t really have a review.

Grabbing lunch at Jeri J’s truck was one of the highlights of our Payson vacation. I dragged my husband out to the truck on the promise that Indian fry bread was something not to be missed. We split a «taco» fry bread and as generous as it was I was sorry I hadn’t ordered my own. Jeri’s fry bread is really delicious and the whole experience is really unique. I am sure that if Jeri got herself a food truck in LA she’d be the hit of Echo Park! Her fry bread is a must taste!

Just had an amazing Taco Fry bread w/beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato & onion. I really loved how the bus was a bright Neon green!

Okay, for newbs to the Payson area(like me) — the casino you are looking for is the Mazatzal Casino, just south of Payson on SR87. If there is a multicolor flag hanging from the front of the bus, they are open.(Fridays and Saturdays only!) But this is definitely worth checking out! I don’t claim to be an Indian fry bread expert, but the«taco»(bean, cheese, lettuce, tomato filled) was terrific, and one with the honey/powdered sugar made a great dessert. The bread is very light, soft and crisp — mmmmm — you gotta try it!

Hysterical! Just what the last guy said… no address. in a parking lot of a casino in a bus. But, the best darn indian fry bread I’ve EVER had. It wasn’t too think and doughy like fry bread could be, it had the slightest bit of crunch and very very flavorful. I had the beans & cheese… SUPERBLYYUMMY!

so this place has no address… it is in the parking lot of casino in a bus. it is only open and fridays and saturdays but the fry bread is about the best you can get. Jeri makes all of the dough by hand and her husband cooks them up. if you are in or around payson when they are open you have to get one of the Inidan Tacos
