The worst experience I have had at a Gamestop. I was looking for a used accessory that very few stores in the area had. Gamestop’s website said that they had this particular accessory, used, in this Peabody store. Gamestop’s website also says to CALL in advance to be sure that they actually have it in stock. I took their advice, seeing as how I would have to drive from Malden to Peabody for this thing. I called and the phone rang and rang. Finally one of the girls working picked up. I asked about the accessory, specifically asking about USED. They said they would check in a second. 15MINUTESGOBY(my phone showed this as the call time). The person left the phone off the hook and I could hear everything in the store. I was yelling into the phone to no avail, because I figured if I were to hang up I wouldn’t be able to get through again. I finally hung up and called back about 15 minutes later. A different girl picked up this time and I explained my situation again, asking«do you have this USED accessory in stock.» They assured me they did, so I asked them to set it aside. I made the trek to Peabody. When I walked in, I said that I was the one that called about the accessory. They start ringing me up for the brand new version of it. They were asking about some damn service plan when I interrupted and said«I was asking for the used version of this.» She says«Oh, yeah we don’t have any of those in stock.» Then she tried to blame the mistake on ME, saying that I didn’t specify I wanted to used one(which I clearly did multiple times). Terrible, terrible service. I normally would never buy from Gamestop but the deal on this used item was great; it was only $ 10 vs $ 40 for the new version. I should have just bought the knock-off version for $ 5 on eBay than deal with this incompetence.
