So you can see my bad in my original review. Finally got the floors done and they look great. It was a bit of a keystone cop scenario the first day… forgot their tools, didn’t have the quarter round on hand so had to pick up special from home depot, knocked off early thinking it would be a breeze to finish up the next day… not quite. 6 guys on the first day, left at 3:30 then 2 guys the next day show up and end up working until 8:30 pm to finish. I had reminded them that painters were coming to finish up the quarter round the 3rd day morning and had to be done on Day 2, and that didn’t stop them from leaving early and coming back with less than half the team. But the main installer did take special care in manually cutting it to fit our fireplace stonework. The Sales Rep stopped by repeatedly to make sure things were going OK. Unfortunately corporate ordered black caulk to go around the fireplace that ruined the precision of the custom cut. Looked horrible for about 2 weeks until they came back to chisel it off and replace with light beige that blended with the fireplace. Because of the lack of proper tools, they couldn’t cut the quarter round properly so we have gaps at our corners, but it isn’t that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. They over ordered about a case and a half of flooring, so about 12 boards. We’ll have that on hand for repairs I guess. Corporate still hasn’t called, nearly a month later, or sent a follow up eval card… so don’t really care about approving operations. Final assessment: Their lack of project management and coordination and communication that created the original problem carried over in how they ran their installation. But at the individual level, they did their best to complete the job to our satisfaction. They took pride in their work. The floors look great. I hope they hold up and I don’t have to wrangle with them about repairs.
