HMSA Center

This is a review of the usefulness of this HMSA center and some of the tips and tricks which others should know in order to take full advantage of their health benefits.
Who has been to this strip mall and walked by wondering wtf do they do in there? I have many times and finally walked in one day and asked the workers just that.
Basically any time you have a question on concern you can pop in and ask someone face to face instead of pressing 1, then 2, and then waiting half an hour to speak with someone at a customer call center in a foreign country.
Here are some reasons I’ve visited:
1) I lost my health insurance card. I need a replacement.
2) I took the online health assessment ‘and don’t know where I put that credit card with $ 50 on it. Can you send me another one?
3) It’s been a couple months and I still haven’t received the replacement debit card
4) Do you have a list of acceptable items I can buy/​pay for with the benefits card?
5) If I move to Japan for 3 – 5 years, do I need to change my health insurance coverage?
Each and every time I went in with a question/​concern, I left with an answer usually after only a minute or two for the easy questions. If you have a simple or difficult question, pop in and the workers will be glad to help you out.
Thankfully they’re open until 7pm so you don’t need to leave work early. ;)

Didn’t realize they had a an outlet or office opened on the weekends close to home! had to visit the center to help my mother in law sign some documents.
Workers were extremely helpful and very professional! This office is beautiful, and so is the wait room.

Omg… what can I say… was struggling with insurance, trying to find doctors… representative at HMSA, she went out of her way, 200%, to help me find doctor for my entire family. What an excellent person she was. Dont we wish we have more people like her working for big companies like this, then we will all be so succesful! Wow, what an exceptional service that was… !!!

We went there to get our medical plan changed and to get a dental plan. We got a great service representative, Traci Fujioka. She was very informative and very helpful. I appreciated the fact that she explained everything and took her time with us. She did not rush us and was so patient. I cannot say enough about her great customer service!

Why does HMSA even have their useless phone number if places like this exist?
I just got a new plan through a new employer, so I had to discontinue my old plan… which was more than painful via phone. So painful in fact that I just couldn’t get the damn thing done due to the 30+ minute wait times and I ended up getting a bill for an additional month. Ughhh. Whyyyyyyyy must this be so harrrrd?!
But…then I realized that theres an HMSA center thingy near the Petco I frequent, so I decided to drop in and hope they can help with this issue. They not only helped, they did it really fast, and in a really friendly manner. They even retroactively requested to cancel the old account so that I wouldn’t get billed for it. I wish I knew that they did this stuff there BEFORE I tried calling in the first place!

I am so impress with this location. They greeted with a smile. I highly recommended this place

After waiting at the Keeaumoku location for 90 minutes and finally speaking to representative they mentioned in passing that they’d just opened this Pearl City location and that there’s usually no wait time.
Well I’ll be a turtle’s toothache! Why did I drive all the way out to town and wait for so long?
The next time I had to talk to HMSA I jumped right over to this location & within 30 seconds was talking to someone about my options for coverage! Amazing service! Also the representative was a young adult like myself and we chatted about a few TV shows and things before getting down to business.
Health insurance isn’t really that fun or interesting but at least on this day it was quick and painless! I’d definitely recommend this location over the Keeaumoku one!
