Peckman’s holds a special place in Pearl River history. It was opened in 1947 by Herb Peckman – author of «Pearl River: Then and Now” – and has remained opened ever since. It is still run by the same family. Even as Pearl River’s 1920s era movie theater with its alcove for a piano during the silent era gets converted into… well… something less charming; this store still operates right across the street. But don’t think for a second that the store has become stodgy. Rather, the small store contains standby spirits as well as small batch exotics. If you don’t know what you’re looking for, the whip-smart staff will help you find just the right bottle – be it something from Napa, Santiago, Hunter Valley, or the Loire. For a small store, they’ve got a wide selection of spirits – gins, whiskies, liquors, etc. You can also by NY Lottery tickets there. Enjoy!
