I went to an evening with my wife she ordered a Bailey’s The barman Went down in the cabinets underneath and poured something that was not Bailey’s it was that cheap Irish cream when I asked the barman he just ignored me And charge me nine dollars The bottle probably didn’t even cost nine dollars also the barman was rude

My wife daughter and I had some real bad food. My wife had the cream of mushroom soup that tasted very gritty and no flavor and her baked clams just weird tasting all bread crumbs and very dry. My daughter had plain pasta with butter it take like dirty dish water she couldn’t eat it and I had the crab cakes the worst I have ever eaten and the fries are coated in some weird crunch on them. It’s sad because saloon had great food in the past. this is the third time in a row that the food was bad. I don’t think I will come back 3 strikes your out.

Likes: It’s a cute family establishment. The atmosphere has a very festive feel to it. I also liked the décor of the restaurant; the look was fitting for a saloon Service was slow but the staff was super nice! Which is why I gave this place 3 stars instead of 2. Prices: not bad. $ 11 for a panini with fries and a pickle Disikes: Didn’t enjoy parking in this area. I opted to park further away just so I wouldn’t have to parallel park. Good luck finding a spot in front of the restaurant… may the odds be forever in your favor! Food was alright. I got a bacon panini because the bacon was advertised as «crunchy» in the description. I should’ve known better… when they try too hard to convince you of something, it’s probably not true. Derpp. conclusion: probably wouldn’t come back here unless it’s happy hour and i’d only order from the appetizers section

It was an average visit. The food wasn’t great, wasn’t bad. I got the cheese steak and onion rings. The onion rings were good, cheese steak was just OK. The bread was not that good. Service was just Ok also. I wouldn’t rush back here any time soon.

So I came down here on Friday night on a blind date to kick off the Memorial Day weekend. I met this cute girl on tinder and figured that the saloon would be a good place to break the ice. I knew the saloon had a great bar atmosphere and decent food. I ordered the Mississippi Gambler without thinking about the consequences of eating a greasy cheesesteak in the middle of a blind date. To make a long story short, I lost that gamble. I was about halfway in when I felt a sharp pain rip through my gastrointestinal system. Shortly after it felt as if lucifer himself was blowing hot gas bubbles from my stomach straight to my bungus. My date watch horrified as my stomach churned and burned the cheese, steak, onions, and peppers in a hot, fiery, molten pit of hot gas hat was now openly spewing out of my butt. There’s nothing you can say about my scphinctor that night that hasn’t already been said about Afghanistan; it was bombed out and depleted. The surrounding tables are starting to realize what is happening. I want to make a run for that bathroom but I’m scared if I move even an inch, the saloon will resemble Mt. St. Helens in 1980 and better yet, I didn’t want to cover the patrons of the saloon with hot as(s)h like the citizens of POOPeii. Suddenly I make a mad dash for the bathroom and my ass unleashes a tsunami of shit that could rival the 2004 Tsunami in the South Pacific. Thank god we had planned on going to a white party later that night and I was wearing an all white outfit. Just wanted to apologize to the staff for having to clean up my diarrhea. Let’s just say we won’t be going a second date.

So I come to this place frequently. You could say I am a local. Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience here tonight. We ordered 3 meals and 5 drinks between 3 people. The bill was 94 dollars. One person 25 cash, another person paid 32 cash, and the last person put 37 on the credit card. Totaling to 94 dollars. The waitress took the money and we explained to her to put 37 on the card and rest in cash. She came back with the credit card receipt and we out a tip. One person tipped her 6 in cash, another 25 cash and we put 37 on the card. So we also get pushed away while eating so the other could have our table. How rude! We go out to smoke a cigarette because we wanted to come back for a drink. The manager goes after us and accusing us of shorting them in the bill. Making a scene. When we paid and tipped well. We are offended. Honestly we want them to sew the camera because we are honest people. She said we can’t go back to there anymore for something we didn’t even do. Why would we go for a cigarette outside the bar if we dinned and ditched. It’s angers me because we are good people.

I read reviews on places like the Saloon and I am greatly amused. It’s a bar. In bars you get great beer, decent mixed drinks and average food. This place is no different. Ok burger, good fish and chips, good open faced Ruben. They don’t hire great chefs in this kind of Bar. The place is nice food ok the booze great. Go have a drink a snack and a chat.

We figured we would give this dive another try since its so close to the train station. Big mistake! Turns out the top shelf bottles are being filled with the cheap speed rack stuff! We learned this after hearing some of the staff laughing about it. Luckily we only drink beer, but again the beers had no head on them. Chicken wings were okay. Staff was helpful, but there was a lot of screaming coming from the kitchen. Don’t think we will be back here again.

This review is pertinent to the late night antics and bar scene at «The Saloon.» Having continually visited this and the other bars on the Pearl River main drag during the summer night hours I can base this review from a collection of first hand experiences. Firstly, the location is great and centrally located to the train station. The quick train ride at 11 or 12PM makes this bar one of many stops on my train ride to Blackout City. Secondly the interior décor is one of the nicer setups compared to the other bars in the area. The bartenders are speedy to accept and fulfill drink orders. So far so good but it tends to go downhill from there. Firstly, the drinks are too weak. I mean, I’m basically sobering up chugging a vodka red bull. Your grandmother could funnel these gin and tonics and still dance on the bar like she did in the ‘40s. This wouldn’t be as atrocious of a crime if they drinks were not quite so expensive. They have priced themselves above the average market value. I normally do not have a problem with this tactic as long as they deliver a premium customer experience. My last visit was far from that. After, through careful deliberation and strange dance moves, I realized I should probably«slow down» and«relax» a little with the drinking. I ordered water, a responsible choice by a responsible individual, of course. After getting pats on the back from friends for my self control I stepped outside the bar to get some fresh air. The bouncer immediately noticed my clear plastic cup and his menacing glare shot up from the cup straight through my eyes. It was as though I knew what he was going to say before his lips even opened the slightest. He was ready for me. He stated I could not have the drink outside. I understood, even though I explained it was water and drank it quickly. Unfortunately the refreshing beverage slipped out of my grasp due to the condensation on the outside of the vessel. The bouncer then demanded I pick up the chalice and throw it away. I obliged and picked up the cup and thought I would be a good patron and return the cup to the bar. After opening the door to the bar and returning the cup I turned around. The bouncer then boomed«OK See you never!» Perplexed and rather appalled by the lewd behavior I advised the bouncer to «have a great night» and left up the road. It was probably for the best anyway as I needed to get some shut eye but the manner of which the situation occurred was rather unfortunate. The bouncer also stated that he «always remembers faces» which may mean he has a photographic memory. He may work as a research cosmologist by day and tough guy bouncer by night but I will probably never know. Either way I will continue to give my business to the Horse and Jockey up the road and vote for them with my dollar!

Every time I come here I am always satisfied with the food and how quickly it is served. I enjoy myself when I come here and I like the atmosphere. The staff makes great old fashion’s(I’m very picky with them because I’m from the Midwest and they’re made differently here). I guess the only thing I don’t like is the music and at night the place turns into a night club. It’s not my thing anymore and this bar doesn’t seem like the type to have a Dj and random people dancing all over. But that’s just my personal opinion.

Generally consistent place. French dip is always a good choice along with some of the wraps. Many tv’s around-it’s a good place to watch a game. There’s a lot of room for a large group and a solid large bar.

Stopped in for lunch and wasn’t approached by any staff. Place was empty. When I inquired about ordering, the owners and a few seemingly regular townies, who were all conversing or giving creepy stares, acted confused. Opted to just get a soda after getting the cold shoulder. They even got the soda type wrong. This place is creepy– almost like it’s just open for regulars. The 1950’s country music doesn’t help. Neither does the bigotry I heard coming from the regulars.

Went there today for lunch with my son. He had a grilled cheese and fries which he liked(I too had a bite and agree). I had the cheesesteak. It was excellent. The bun and ingredients tasted very fresh. The staff were cheerful and attentive. I would recommend the saloon.

This is our new favorite family restaurant! Our toddler son LOVES this place because of the trains(including Thomas!) chugging around the restaurant. They are very kid-friendly and provide crayons right away. Service is very friendly and moves at a good pace. Our son enjoys the hearty portion of chicken fingers off the kid menu. My husband and I enjoy the food enough but the real draw here is that our son will actually SITSTILL so Mommy & Daddy can enjoy some food and beers rather relaxed. Can’t put a price on that! :)

It’s a college bar with no college in site. Reminded me of my over drinking under grad days. Live music was cool but I personally am not into the whole having to yell over the music so you can talk to your friends thing. If you’re into rewinding the clock back to college, go for it. Not my scene though.

I’ve been going here since I was little kid with my folks. Back then they had wait times of up to 2 hours on Friday and Saturday nights!!! Lately I’ve only been going there for lunch or to grab a quick pint of Guinness(which they do a good job of!). The menu has definitely changed, not the same as their old black and white beat up ones which was something I enjoyed reading. It was very old school. The menu now has less things on it, but the food is still good. Again, definitely not what I remembered from years ago, but still a nice place to go with friends. Not going to get gourmet food, but if you’re looking for a nicely decorated American type place, this is it!
