Great park to run, walk, or ride bikes. They put in a new shaded playground earlier this year as well as a shaded exercise area. This park and franco lee park offer pretty much the only large, shaded trails/outdoor green spaces in the southbelt area. It also has a brick and mortar bathroom that they keep CLEAN! This park is the end of the hike/bike trail that starts at Hall/Hughes road. The path is approximately 1.3 miles around, and the shaded loop that breaks off from the main path is probably .5 miles. Another great thing about this park is that it reflects the wonderful diversity of the southbelt area. Come here before dusk when there is nice weather and you will find it filled with all shapes, sizes, ages, races, and nationalities! Smile and wave, and everyone seems to wave back. It doesn’t get 5 stars because there is very little parking. If the lot is full, go up blackhawk and turn left onto Kimberly Loch lane and you can park in that neighborhood at the opposite end of the park.

Great walking trail park in the area – it connects to the Scarsdale Park. I love how this park has a lot of natural feels of it – back wood walking trails, trails made right in the middle of the wilderness. I’ve seen rabbits, deers, birds and other small creatures on this trail as I’ve walked it. I’m still trying to figure out what is the earliest time this park opens – I’ve got here at 5 am and people are already walking on the park. I guess I need to get here at 4:30 am just to walk. It great to bike ride, walk, power walk, jogging, or running trails. Dogs love it – and I’m not sure if cat lovers walk their cats… that just seems pretty strange. There’s nothing like a morning walk that doesn’t get you ready for your day ahead!
