We visited Lafayette Seafood Kitchen, we’ve passed by the restaurant several times and were a little skeptical to stop in because it’s never many cars there but nevertheless we decided to give it a try. It’s August 9th in Houston the temperature outside is 99 degrees, the restaurants front AC unit was not working so they were seating everyone towards the back of the restaurant, where it was warm but not hot. The service was extremely slow, the food was bland seriously no taste at all. The best part about our visit to Lafayette Seafood was the end. We will never go back

Oh, i hate to do this, but being FROM Lafayette, i had to try. Oh boy, i’ve never been somewhere where the food was SO bad, that i couldn’t even eat more than the first bite to try. what a shame! place is in a great location! great name! and the restaurant itself is gorgeous! Food? NEVERAGAIN! :-(

Very bad and slow service. The waiter checked on us two times in the two hours we were there. Will not be going back.

This place is always empty but we decided to stop because we noticed a few cars. There’s about 3 people on staff but we didn’t order food because we didn’t trust it would be good. I ordered a 6 Oz margarita for $ 4. It wasn’t bad but I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Customer service was good. I enjoyed the dirty rice. That’s were the good ended. I had the stuff salmon. It didn’t taste the same with each bite. I started to feel nausea from the fishy taste of the salmon. My son had the kid’s fried catfish and he didn’t like it. He said he couldn’t exactly say what was wrong with it, it just wasn’t good. My husband had the shrimp étouffée. He feels the dish wasn’t worth the price. The shrimp were bland but the sauce had decent flavoring. We will not return or recommend.

Ordered 1 pound of crawfish to go and it’s been 35 mins. All 3 staff have asked have you been helped and all 3 go back to the kitchen and say just a minute. Even a band member asked me what he could do. If I hadn’t already paid I would just walk out. First time to give this place a chance and it will be the last. good job on failing.

The best Cajun Seafood Restaurant in Pearland !! I have read all the reviews and I know some of them are bad, but I decided to give it a try, and I’m glad I did !! They have a lot where to choose from in their menu, you can start with some fried green tomatoes, is ideal for 2 people, or the boudin balls, they have yummy crab cakes too. The fried calamari and the fried alligator are delicious, don’t forget to ask for a bisque or gumbo !! They have really good fish, the snapper Opelousas, Ponchartrain, and Royal are good options. If you want something fried ask for the fries seafood platter or any other combo they have. Poboys are something you can’t skipped !! My favorite is the fried shrimp and oysters poboy. Étouffée has an amazing taste, try the combination of fried crawfish and crawfish étouffée, they called it langostinos. I just gave you an idea of what they have to offer, visit them and support their business. There is a location at W. Belfort and Wilcrest too. They have a full bar too, and their drinks have reasonable prices. Plus they have live jazz music on Tuesday nights.

Lack luster at best. Over cooke mushy served on 1960s plastic cafeteria style dishes. Overly salty and poorly prepared. Everything is covered in sauce and has no real taste.

Won’t be coming back, this seafood is not fresh. Everything tastes the same-I think they fry everything together!

Great local spot with exceptional food at very affordable prices. Portions are a good size as well. Only downside is the service can be slow, but I know that going in and it doesn’t bother me at all. I highly recommend this spot.

So much potential, but poor vision and execution. Unfortunately, when you walk into a restaurant and there are only 2 other patrons there on a Wednesday at 8:00 pm there is a fundamental reason. The food isn’t bad, but not great. When you crown yourself as Louisiana Cuisine, you have to deliver(consistently). When you walk in its a very large open space with a huge bar — that is CLOSED, blocked off(do not enter) ??? Nonetheless I proceed to seat myself, although there isn’t a sign or hostess in site to say do otherwise… My waiter comes I ask what’s the top seller, he looks confused. Nods the suggests the grill snapper with artichoke and shrimp in a white wine sauce(sounds good enough) NOT. The sauce is too much, of I don’t know everything and the shrimp said a FINDME… But no problem, I will swap my dish for the old faithful and other top seller crawfish… Well, I waited and waited and waited… guess what he never came back!!! Wasn’t this place empty I thought, but I think the two additional tables that arrived seemed like a better deal… Oh well??? I politely told the other passing waitress to close out my tab minus the lost shrimp, as I would have ordered an entrée but your coworker never came back… So I paid for the hurricane(which was Actually good btw)… And thought to myself, so much potential + poor execution = vacant business in the next 6 to 12 months because Pearland is A tough market… #good luck with that!

Like a close more realistic cousin of Pappadeux this place has all your favorites for tons cheaper. A bonus? The sweet tea is actually sweet! Service is a little slow but everyone is friendly and efficient.

I keep trying to give this place another chance. But I think I’m done. The place always seems so empty. The fish isn’t bad. The setting isn’t bad. But they put way too much sauce on their entrees. And their vegetables taste like they were frozen and were thrown in the microwave(I can do that at home; I don’t need to pay someone to do that). And there is a waiter who doesn’t seem to speak English very well and didn’t understand what I was trying to say. A family at another table was having trouble with him as well. It’s a shame… because the owner is super nice and friendly.

We needed a substitute for Floyd’s, which has overgrown it’s britches and had a drop in quality. This was perfect, and cheaper to boot. It was a little sparsely populated, but the facility is clean and tasteful, and the food was good. I haven’t sampled all the classic Cajun dishes yet, but you can believe I will be back and slowly work through them all. For now I can say the stuffed salmon was excellent, and the dirty rice was tasty. The fried shrimp had a nice little bite, and the crab cakes had a good flavor. Service was pretty good, though they run a light crew with the sparsely populated location. We will be back!

Very good food and service! We had a kid that dropped his milk and they were understanding:). Coming back for sure! It looks like it’s family owned and since small business is the backbone of our great country come support those who are good at what they do

I’m a fan of this hidden place. My fiancée and I were craving cajun food and found this place down the street. Okay, so we were the only guests in there. But who cares, the food was tasty and the price was right. Just FYI — we went to Ragin Cajun the next day and paid nearly twice as much for ½ the food. Bang for your buck, will definitely be going back.

After reading many of the reviews, I was somewhat hesitant to give this place a try. Having passed by the place numerous times and never seeing many cars didn’t do much alleviate these concerns. Nevertheless, I was in the mood for cajun and figured I’d give it a shot. Not surprisingly, the place was nearly empty even though it was lunch time, Service was OK, nothing remarkable either way. I ordered a bowl of chicken gumbo(added sausage as an option) for $ 7.50. It was pretty good; neither the best nor the worst and I think the price was reasonable. I can’t help but think that often times people let their prejudices influence their reviews. You go into a place, they’re not doing much business, so right from the start you’re thinking there must be something wrong, whereas another restaurant with lots of people and lively atmosphere sets you up for an enjoyable experience. I tried to ignore all that and just review what I came in there for, the food. I would probably rate the place 3−½ if that were an option. I’ll definitely go back again and try some other things on their menu.

Decided to try the new place out! I have to say we were scared but we will definitely be back! The calamari was really good. They could’ve served more but for 6.95 I guess it was good! They’re batter was great! Got the dozen of oysters which were huge. When going to eat I always get stuff I can’t cook at home so I got the New Orleans stuffed salmon with dirty rice. It was very good! We liked it so much we decided to try the gumbo… Not the best but not the worse. Needed more flavor but that was the only problem. There were only two waitresses so service wasn the best but we have had way worse. They did awesome for the amount of customers. Atmosphere isn’t «Cajun fun like» but the food is great! Definitely will replace Floyd’s!

No restaurant has ever survived in this location. Went to try at noon b today and only one other table was occupied. Had the blackened catfish opelousas. Flavor was good, broccoli was cooked well but not drained enough. Catfish seemed fresh enough but shrimp and crawfish in the sauce were clearly frozen… way too much sauce. May try this place again… just not too excited about it.

Keep driving down 518! my boyfriend and I moved to Pearland recently and have been trying out the local restaurants. This one we’ll not be catering. He had the Lobster Bisque which tasted great,(with Saltines?? and that strange canned corn distracted from the creamy goodness) but the waitress asked(what few times she did come by the table, NOT to fill the tea EVER though and taking plates while I was still chewing and eating) but commented she’d tried it when the cook made it LASTWEEK! I became instantly nauseated. A seafood soup made last week? we didn’t get sick but yikes! I had the Snapper Ponchatrain, and it tasted VERY fishy, the fish was NOT fresh, probably frozen as it had that«mushy» texture to it, the shrimp on top in the however tasty brown butter sauce, was raw, it was gross. The canned corn that came with it with diced almost raw green peppers and tomato was unremarkable as the stale french bread. The dirty rice wasn’t bad but again pre-made, or tasted like it. Skip it…
