Pearland-City Of Animal Control

I’ve been here several times and I find the staff and the facility atrocious. They’re rude, condescending and do not appear to have any interest in the pets or educating the public. There have even been situations when they refused to give someone their dogs and were going to euthanize them. They do little to nothing in the way of working with rescues to help get the pets out (alive), and «management» leaves much to be desired. While euthanasia is a sad fact of the business, the selection of which pets lose their life on a particular day should not consist of whether or not they are barking. The worst part, they are a city establishment. You’d think the city might take a bit more pride in their selection of employees and who represents them.

I volunteer with a rescue and we recently pulled a gorgeous puppy from here named Tootsie who had somehow been overlooked at the shelter for weeks. I had never before been to this shelter. They are small and, like all animal rescue organizations, understaffed with very limited resources. They have so many beautiful dogs, PUPPIES, cats and kittens here that need homes and the shelter is frequently totally full leaving them with few options. The staff cares about these pets and are doing everything they can to help them but the community in Pearland needs to step up and take care of their pets, spay/​neuter, microchip, foster, and rescue from here. This shelter needs donations, volunteers, and adopters. If you are looking for a new pet, please come look here!
