Owners are very kind and helpful. I have been out of town for work for the past two months in Pekin, Illinois and have been staying at the Econo Lodge. Owners have kept me in the same room for nearly all of my visits. I have left things behind multiple times after checking out and they have held onto it for me and have given it back the next time I check in. Last time I left, owner helped me carry a bunch of my luggage out to my car. Rooms are always clean and beds are comfortable. TV’s are nice and have all the channels you should need. Overall, I have had a good experience at Econo Lodge in Pekin and would recommend it to anybody. Kurt with UAS

I am currently working out of town for work and the staff/ownership of the Econo Lodge here as been great. Our schedule has been very hectic and they have accommodated our staff with rooms. The continental breakfast has been up and running prior to 6 am to accommodate the schedules of people working during the week. I would definitely recommend this place, especially for extended stays. Maybe I caught them on an off day, but I can’t remember when I’ve been less impressed by a hotel. Where to start? There is no elevator in this hotel(no big) so I walked up to my second floor room only to find that my swipe card didn’t open the door. With all my bags, my laptop and my dog in tow, I went back down to the desk and got another card. The same thing happened again. The desk clerk called the manager on her cell who confirmed that there were problems with this room’s door and it was on the«maintenance list». They put me in the adjoining room and immediately upon entering my «non smoking room», I was hit by the smell of stale tobacco. It was in the 90’s outside and the room was very hot and stuffy. A most unpleasant welcome. On the plus side, the room is large but the furniture is worn and the stopper in the bathroom sink is broken. I can’t fill the sink with water and then drain it without prying the stopper open with a pen. Back downstairs, I listened as another«guest» complained because there was no coffee pot in the room and she had no signal on the TV. She was told that«only some rooms have coffee pots.» On the plus side… the desk clerk, Greg, was very pleasant and tried to resolve all issues with a smile. Thus far, he is the only favorable part of this hotel stay. My recommendation… stay clear of this hotel.

The rate was low. But you get what you pay for. If everything good is booked this place will do.

Place is clean along with the room… BUT…satellite tv has really bad reception(volume cuts in and out, picture distorts and/looses image and screen freezes up), bathroom shower tub sounds like your going to fall through the floor, continental breakfast sucks(OJ is carbonated, coffee is flat)! What a mistake! Last but not least, they had the maintenance man working on a room next to me BANGINGAWAY for 45 minutes at 7:45am on a Saturday morning! WTF! Are you kidding me???

It seems that it’s senior citizens that fall prey to hotels that have no business staying in operation. However, this population that have no idea what a Unilocal is, so I will be the voice of my in-laws who spoke with fervor over the monstrosities they experienced at Econo Lodge. they reported mouse droppings inside the bed, the room had everything to make a great cup of coffee, except a coffee maker, that the continental breakfast consisted of a choice between a stale bagel, and a stake roll, and the staff panicked and screamed when they were told of the mouse droppings. I suppose if you wanted to get the whole«Pekin experience» this place is perfect.

Pool is disgusting, rooms are slightly less disgusting, staff will do nothing to help you. My family stayed over labor day weekend, it was pitiful.

If you’re in central Illinois and are looking for a cheap place to stay, look no further than the EconoLodge in Pekin. With the curb appeal of a bus station, visitors can find inattentive staff, outside doors that don’t lock, and a continental breakfast that begs you to go across the street and eat at the Bob Evans instead. Inside, visitors can find mildly stained sheets and low-grade linens. Lonely and looking for conversation? You can visit with other guests that have an affinity for leaving their room doors open — just like a freshman year dorm floor. On the plus side, the hotel is stumbling distance to both the Avanti’s Dome and Steak and Shake. Whether you’re visiting for a wedding or a soccer game and don’t want to spend three figures a night in Pekin, the EconoLodge will meet the needs of four walls and a roof and a place to lay your head. Just be sure to get a hantavirus booster soon after you leave.

A little run down looking from the outside. Room was clean but no coffee maker, iron or ironing board and the free wireless internet didn’t work. Asked the desk clerk about it and he couldn’t speak any English but he did offer me his laptop at the desk if I needed it. Sweet. Basic lodging for a cheap price. No bed bugs so that was a huge plus. Good enough for an overnight, glad I wasn’t planning on doing any work that night.
