Beautiful location for a wedding or any other event. Wonderful landscaping of the outdoor area. We had our wedding here on 9.20.14 and it was absolutely perfect. Shirley, the owner, will review every detail ahead of time. We wanted the ceremony outdoors and she made sure it happened even after a brief but heavy downpour earlier in the day. Shirley is strict with her rules, but in return will do everything to make sure your event runs smoothly. Larry and other Proven Ground staff helped with bartending, parking, and monitoring the bonfire, which guests loved. They do basically run everything — so you don’t have to! I view this only as an added benefit. You are allowed to use any catering service and can bring in drinks(no hard alcohol) from any place you’d like. I was so grateful for this option as many venues offer limited to no choice for catering and often mandate a minimum amount without even considering the number of guests you have. For our wedding of around 100 including quite a few kids, this was the perfect location for us. Big thank you to Shirley and Larry!

My son’s wedding was at this venue. There is atmosphere in the barn itself and it would have been a charming place for a wedding had it not been for the overbearing owner who insisted on running the wedding which was totally not her place. She was bossy and rude to family members and guests. Because she placed the bride and attendants and groom and attendants on the wrong side as parents of the groom we sat in front of the brides family. She imposed herself during toasts and seemed to want to be the center of attention during this couples wedding. Because of this woman, I would never recommend this venue.
