Troublefree came and serviced my central air /​furnace because it was short cycling. They replaced a capacitor and charged me $ 209 for the part. I thought that the part cost was a little high so later in the day I went on line to see what I could get that same part for and the online store listed it for $ 7.95.
Wow!
Buyer beware. After looking in to the reviews of several HVAC contractors, I find that they all jack up the prices for parts they replace. $ 200 — $ 450 for an $ 8 part. $ 500 or more for a $ 65 motor. Any parts they put in are easily bought locally or online for pennies on the dollar for what they charge you.
