Centre Stage

What great service! I bought some fantastic dance attire & cute gifts! Thank you for the wonderful shopping experience & knowledgeable help (since I was buying for others & didn’t know what I wanted/​needed)! I will be back :)

***I don’t know about the dance programs here, this is a review of our shopping experience.
***We purchased our daughter’s tap and ballet shoes here, since our school district announced a discount. We normally purchase every year from Repertoire in Scarsdale. The taps were uncomfortable in the heel, but the salesman said we could double up on socks or use tape. On returning home, we compared to the previous year’s taps, and found a huge difference in quality. The other taps were smooth and soft inside, wearable from the time of purchase. Even with the school discount, the difference in price was just a few dollars, so we returned to our old store, and they sold us some excellent comfy taps.
***On returning to Centre Stage the following week, they offered store credit. I understand this, if that’s their policy. When the woman opened the box, she said «These have been used!» in a very nasty voice. She pointed to some small indentations in the hard leather bottom. The shoes were pristine white all over, including inside the indentations. I had to repeat several times that we only wore them in the shop once and never took them to dance class. She gave the the credit slip with the most angry look on her face. Did she really think we abused the shoes for a week, re-​painted them white, and came back to get our $ 25?
***If the shoes had really been used, then they sold them to us used. I should have asked for a full refund. But outside of that, what kind of business sense is that, to be nasty to a member of a school dance group? For merchandise quality and attitude, this shop gets one star.
