The facility is 5 stars. Equipment is plentiful, great layout. Everything and maybe more you might need. The staff is always so helpful and members are respectful of space and equipment time. I particularly like that they have restrooms upstairs as well

I’ve been a member of Gold’s Gym for over 6 months now, and so far I’m enjoying it. Below is a bit about various aspects of the gym experience here. Joining/Membership — I’ll start by saying that I’m not the typical member from a contractual standpoint; my work has a very good discount program with Gold’s that keeps my rate low and membership contract-free. I can’t speak on the potential of a hard sell but, when I initially stopped in to join, I was asked the typical questions pertaining to goals, interests, etc. I personally didn’t feel pushed, intimidated, or anything of the sort(not my first rodeo, though), but I was also upfront about my goals and the things in which I had zero interest. Facilities — No question the gym is a phenomenal space for working out. There’s something for just about everyone — indoor pool, track, cycling studio, racquetball court, fitness classes studio, sauna, steam room, large areas for free weights/cable machines, cardio cinema setup, separate cardio area; the number of options is truly impressive. The(separate) locker rooms are pretty spacious and seem to accommodate the large number of members pretty well. The equipment seems to be kept in great shape, and maintenance on those machines is done pretty quickly and thoroughly based on what I’ve noticed. The place is kept very clean as well — no noticeable dust, dirt or sweat lingering, and cleaning persons can be seen during the early to mid-day keeping things maintained. And there’s an area for parents to drop off kids while they work out. Again, I think there’s something to accommodate just about everyone’s fitness goal and situation. Staff — From my personal experience, the staff is pretty good at this location. I generally make it a point to try to speak to everyone I come into contact with while at the gym, and the acknowledgement and reciprocation seems to be most consistent from staff — front desk, personal trainers, cleaning crew, etc. They’re courteous, friendly, and helpful with any questions or concerns brought to their attention. Of course all of this hinges on individual personalities but, generally speaking, I haven’t noticed anything that would change my impression. Classes — I’ve had the opportunity to take a couple of different types of classes, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them. The studio is large enough to accommodate a mid-sized class(approx 10 – 12 people, depending on the class) and is conveniently mirrored so that the instructor(s) can view the class and vice versa from many different angles, and the acoustics, air flow, and temp controls are adequate to keep the room comfortable. The instructors I’ve experienced have all been knowledgeable and welcoming, offering helpful tips during class and connecting with members before/during/after the sessions to answer questions and offer feedback/encouragement. The wide variety of class types and dates/times is also very helpful in determining your personal interests/goals as far finding a good class is concerned. Foot Traffic — This, without a doubt, is the double-edged sword of a gym like Gold’s, and is the thing that drives me batty. Having a LOT of members and foot traffic is great for staying motivated since you see other members pushing themselves just as you are; but at the same time it has the potential to drive you mad when the free space diminishes significantly during gym«prime time»(M-F, 5pm — 7:30pm). Generally there’s no issue with having to wait for equipment, since there’s quite a bit of it present; the larger issue is not having much room to move when you’re surrounded by members using neighboring equipment, and(again based on personalities) being around members that haven’t been taught much in the way of courtesy. It’s this claustrophobic experience that I’d consider a major drawback to Gold’s popularity. The saving grace to the experience, though, is the fact that during other parts of the day there’s plenty of room and fresh air available to get in a really good workout, so keep that in mind when planning your routine. Parking — Since Gold’s sits directly in the middle of its strip mall, there’s plenty of parking available for members even during«prime time». Lighting in the lot is well-distributed, so no immediate worries of any weirdos lurking about. Because of the large number of members, at times there might not be a parking space directly in front of the building but you’ll always be able to find *something* and you’ll never be too far from the front door. And a bonus, a portion of the upstairs indoor track and cardio area looks out onto the parking lot, so there’s a pretty good chance someone’s got an eye on the lot most of the time. In a very large nutshell, that’s my impression of this location of Gold’s. If you’re in the market for a new gym, I think at the very least it’s worth stopping in, speaking with a staff member, and taking a look around. Who knows, it just may be what the doctor ordered.

I cannot stand gold’s gym, their employees and their business model. They turn the experience of getting a gym membership into the equivalent of going to a USED car dealership. They keep on hassling, making up random pricepoints and setting artificial timelines. The employees i’ve had a chance to interact with here were some of the stupidest individuals I’ve met in my entire life and all looked like the alabama version of jersey shore. Hate to generalize, but that was my experience having been here on a few occasions. That being said, you might ask, why am I not giving this place 1 star? The facility itself is actually quite nice, with lots of equipment and a cool setup, thus I am giving it a second star. Facility wise, it unquestionably beats out the dated ymca half a mile down the road.

Great layout of free weights with a greater quantity/quality of workout machines in comparison to the other two Golds in the area. Can get crowded but due to size you’re more able to get the machine you want if you’re flexible with your routine. They could be cheaper/more flexible with a guest program. $ 10.00 for a guest is quite high. Great selection of cardio equipment for the fast paced.

The gym itself is lovely, with dozens of cardio machines– everything from treadmills, to ellipticals, stationary bikes and stair climbers. All of the machines, appeared in to be in great condition, which is not always a given for Golds Gym. There is a pool and rather large group fitness area. The staff was friendly, helpful and provided assistance whenever I asked. For such a well kept and large establishment, it is really amazing how few people are ever in here-it’s always nearly empty… but honestly that may not be a bad thing!
