I had to book this hotel absolute last minute and pulled up to find it has clearly been closed down for quite a while. The windows and doors are boarded up and there are signs stating that it is now county property. There are even big barriers preventing you from parking in the parking lot; I had to park at a business next door to walk over and see what’s going on.
Why Orbitz would let me book this hotel which obviously hasn’t had visitors in a long, long time is beyond me. They even posted their usual bs claim of «the rest of the rooms have been booked, book the last one left!»
I travel frequently for work, and book hotels, flights, and cars very regularly with Orbitz. However, they are giving me absolute hell about getting a refund for this business that clearly wasn’t operating. I called three separate times and waiting on hold for 30, 45, and 140 minutes (respectively), waiting to speak with a «manager» who could approve my refund, only to have each rep tell me that the call volume was too high and they’d call me back. The last time I opted to wait on cold instead of the call back, and after over two hours they told me the same thing at the end of the call.
I can’t believe after booking thousands and thousands of dollars through Orbitz over the years that I’d get jerked around for a refund of a listing hey didn’t manage to keep current.
You obviously need to avoid this hotel since it’s closed, but I’d also recommend reconsidering booking through Orbitz at all.
