First time at the Pembroke Pines library. The parking lot is pretty big with enough parking. As I entered the library, I couldn’t help but noticed how large it was. The areas of the library was labeled with viewable signs to let you know where things was. The children’s services section is nicely set up with rows of kid’s books and DVDs. There are adequate tables for seating and nine computers(reservation is optional), each allowing four 60-minute sessions. There is a large selection of DVDs(neatly alphabetize), books of various genres, magazines, audio books, and CDs. There are plenty of seating throughout this library, and in the very back is where you can find the Quiet, Study Area. The computer services section has 18 computers(reservation is optional). Four of the computer stations offers 2-person workstations, you have to reserve use at the computer reservation station. There are two computer stations without computers that are first come, first serve; and 11 other computers for anyone to use. You get four 60-minute sessions on all. The only minor problem that I have are with the chairs. You see, though there are soft, cushiony seats about; the majority of the chairs are wooden. And after sitting on it for over an hour, my behind becomes a bit sore, which forces me to get up and walk it off. Overall, the Pembroke Pines library is a quiet place with decent patrons. Some libraries that I’ve been to, the people are a bit loud; especially the children, but I didn’t hear much noise here. From what I observed, the staff is friendly and helpful. I find it interesting in venturing to different Broward County libraries. Each of them are different, whether it’s the layout of the building and/or the services and items(books, music, movies) they provide. I wonder where I’ll end up next?
