I was craving a juicy burger and fries and after hearing my friends rave about this place I decided to try it out. This experience was lackluster. I ordered my food for pick up over the phone so I wouldn’t have to wait. I placed the order and the lady said it would be ready in 5 minutes — sweet! It takes me about 10 minutes to get there so I knew for sure it would be ready. Strike 1 — apparently this location is not part of the franchise and only the franchises offer the fancy Rosemary or truffle fries. I really wanted the truffle fries that I saw on the online menu so that was disappointing. Strike 2 — I get there, well after 5 minutes, and I still had to wait for the fries that I ordered to be ready. Strike 3 — I ordered bacon on my burger and when I got home and opened my burger, it was sans bacon. So I figured maybe they forgot or they don’t offer bacon but lo and behold they charged me 80 cents for bacon on my receipt. Once I actually tasted my burger and fries it was just bland. the fries needed more seasoning and the burger was just blah. This experience could have been more enjoyable if I was able to get truffle fries and the bacon that I ordered. All in all, the food tasted like a more expensive McDonald’s meal. You can get a better meal for the some price point at Smashburger or BurgerFI.

After my co-worker telling me how delicious this place was and finding out I have never been she decided to take me for lunch. I ordered the chicken sandwich on wheat with Swiss cheese, lettuce, salsa and onions let me tell you I loved it! With a side of sweet potato fries dipped with tzatziki sauce(don’t ask, just do it). I also did take out for my husband(works close by). I will 100% sure I will be bring my kids here.

Over priced for what you get ordered onion rings and got pieces $ 26 for two people to get a regular burger and a drink with onion rings is over priced

Burgers were good. I’m a fan of their poppyseed buns. Mmm! Sweet potato fries were on point. Would definitely go back for the palomilla burger. Nomz!

I’ve always been a Char Hut fan and recently decided to use them for an office picnic. They were on time, set up, cooked our food, cleaned up and left our leftovers for us. It was the easiest picnic I’ve ever thrown! I highly recommend the catering service if you want to enjoy your party and do not want to spend the whole time behind the grill. Food was reasonably priced and we all had leftovers for DAYS.

NPS = 5 Good burgers and nice people, but no real«wow» factor. Just… you know… burgers. Came here at noon on a Saturday with my girlfriend to try something different. I ordered the Big Bite burger(ground chuck with brisket) while my girlfriend got the chicken sandwich. The brisket, they said would give it a different flavor… perhaps more of a sweeter taste. The Big Bite was juicy and had outstanding flavor. But the chicken sandwich was just… mediocre. We actually had to return the chicken sandwich because the bread had mold on it. That was rather displeasing. Anyway, nothing to see here. If you want to grab a burger, I guess you can come here and get the«char» flavor. But this place really lacks a «pop» and just gets lost in the burbs of Pembroke Pines without really expressing any creativity.

I was not very pleased with my experience. Although the restaurant was clean, the food takes priority here. I decided to get their signature burger, medium rare. The burger arrived well-done. It was hard to eat and rather tasteless. The fountain machine did not have water in the water dispenser; it had soda water. Last but not least, the bathroom was pretty gross.

Not a Fancy place but they know what they are doing. Burger meat is on point. Had a big bite burner with brisket and bacon.

Got a fiesta meal. It was pretty sub-par. Nothing special. I was left with a general apathy towards life after leaving.

Came here with a friend for lunch. I was able to utilize my Groupon. I had 1⁄3 Char-burger with cheese and fries with a Pepsi. Burger was cooked to order, once cooked, the cooks give you the option of adding toppings. I asked for my medium well, and it was very juicy, I wasn’t a fan of fries, but prices are reasonable and you have options if ordering other items besides a burger. If want to try something new, try Char– Hut.

The best burger joint there is, my dad use to bring me here every Saturday when I was younger and now I have introduced it to my boyfriend and friends, and they are hooked! Staff is amazing, even during hectic rushes, dining room is always clean, drink area always well stocked, and sanitized. Literally nothing compares to the juicy burgers at Char hut, and friendly staff!

I used to love Char Hut. I had not been in a while and decided to give it a try. I was very disappointed. The staff were not very friendly but that is not what bothered me. The guy putting the toppings on the burgers was wearing gloves… he was also going into his pocket every minute and pulling out his phone and texting. This is highly unsanitary as there have been numerous studies showing how much bacteria is on the average phone. He would then put his phone back in his pocket and without changing gloves, prepare the next burger. Secondly, my order was given to the customers ahead of me. An employee then chased them out to their car, dug through their bags and got my burger back and tried to give it to me saying that they didn’t touch it — yuck! I will not be back.

Char Hut is a South Florida tradition. Most popular are their char grilled chicken sandwiches and char grilled burgers. What sets them apart from most fast food places is that they cook it fresh right in front of you and they let you pick out all the toppings you want. I had the Fiesta bowl for the 2nd time today. It’s ¼ lb. Char grilled chicken with rice, beans, plantains, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, sunflower seeds, grilled mushrooms, onions and peppers. Everything was very fresh and the staff were super friendly.

When I was in high school, there was a Char Hut near my BFF’s house and we would go all the time. BTW, it was actually a hut! I didn’t even know that they were still around until we drove by the one on Pines. The burgers are good and made when you order. No heat lamps. You can top your burger with as much or as little as you want. All the burgers are pretty large… for me. So I was offered a junior burger or a kids meal. Hell yeah! I love a place that not only does not look down on me for ordering a kids meal but actually offers it! I stuck with a junior. Add an order of frings and I’m good. The burgers were good. I just topped it with the basics plus some mushrooms. I don’t do salad on my burgers. I think my husband topped his with absolutely everything available. That was the messiest burger evah! The fries & rings were yum. Crispy and not at all greasy. The staff was super friendly and helpful. For that alone, they earned an extra star in my book!

Char Hut is a small chain of burger joints which total to four locations(the others are located in Davie, Tamarac, and Sunrise). These days Char Hut has a lot of competition from the big chains, such as Five Guys, Johnny Rockets and Fuddruckers. Also, they have to compete with the plethora of spanish-inspired lunch spots(Chipotles, Moes, La Granja). For the experience and personal touch of Char Huts, I think they beat out most other burger joints in the area. The inside eating area was clean, as well as the open kitchen you could see from behind the counter. Staff were attentive and on the ball. The owner was even walking around talking to regulars, which adds a familial touch. The allure of Char Hut is how the burgers are cooked to-order on the grill right in front of you behind a glass counter. Not many fast food joints offer a fresh grilled burger, but it makes all the difference. The burger itself was so-so, the bacon was thin, but all together it was very satisfying. The onion rings were deliciously thin-sliced and stringy, but they went cold very quickly. Lastly, this place definitely is a winner in my book solely based on the fact that they have birch beer. The nostalgia of biting into a juicy burger with onion rings and a birch beer bring me back to my childhood going to burger joints on vacation with my parents. The only drawback I would say is the prices are not cheap for fast food(this isn’t your normal fast food, though). Expect to pay at least $ 10 – 13 for a burger, drink, and side.

The service here is phenomenal. The food here is pretty good too. I normally get the double chicken or tuna with most of the toppings available. From the standpoint of other burger joints, this is a neighborhood restaurant that offers grill right in front of you service with a topping bar that one would normally not see anywhere else. There are also special promotions depending on the day of the week, sometimes they give free cookies(I forgot which day). The price is a little bit higher than some of the other burger joints but it’s nice to help a neighborhood staple.

My fav burger spot. Was around before the recent trend and will last far longer. What char-hut does that those other spots don’t is simple. It is grilled over an open flame. The taste is unbeatable, freshness is always there, and the toppings bar lets you make a different burger every single time through the line. This was fast-casual before there was even a name for it. The big-dog is enough for a meal. The grilled chicken is great when ordered on pita. The veggie burger I’ve been told is great for those non-meat eaters. Homemade sweet tea is a great thirst quencher. Support your local spots that have been staples of Broward county for years.
