Bring your passport because it’s like walking into a taco shop in Tijuana! When the craving for authentic Mexican tacos hits, it’s hard to find a place that hasn’t become«Americanised». Look no further. It’s a small little place with a bar, a couple of tables, and beautifully colored tiles adorn the walls. We were going to start off with chips and guacamole, but we couldnt wrap our heads around paying over $ 10 for it. So we ordered the chips and salsa to start us off, they were delish! The chips came with a light seasoning and the salsa is home made. No tostitos here! My husband ordered the 3 steak tacos. You can’t ask for a specific number of tacos, only 3 at a time, no more no less. I ordered the chicken flautas, 2 at a time. Within the first bite my husband was raving! The flavor was spot on, full of meat, and not stuffed with cheese and other fillers. Each taco was full of flavor and 3 was the perfect number. Don’t let the size deceive you! The flautas were also very yummy, a tad bit hard to eat as you can not fold them. My biggest down side to my order is that you must eat the flautas very quickly, if not they become very soggy and not as pleasant to eat. Overall this place is very good for authentic Mexican food with out having to travel to far!

The fish tacos are amazing. The restaurant has a nice relax atmosphere, which would be perfect for those afternoons after work. I will definitely be back with friends to dine in.

2 $ tacos can’t beat that. The carnitas was a bit dry but the beef tacos were good. Can’t really complain about 2 $tacos. Both the atmosphere and service were nice

The food wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t good. They brought us the wrong appetizer and brought it with the rest of the food and it took forever. There were about 4 other couples there and the food took about an hour. The tacos pastor were okay but having family in Mexico DF these aren’t actual tacos pastor… So overall the food wasn’t bad, I just wouldn’t recommend it to friends or family and the staff wasn’t the best.

Very small quaint place. Quite expensive. Food was good during this visit but had to request a fresher plate on a previous visit. Not too crazy about it. Experienced it but won’t return.

We have eaten at the Miramar location twice. Everyone who works there is friendly, food has been great both times. They have an amazing military discount which is truly appreciated.

Small place, good food. I prefer to stick with the lunch specials for a good deal. Like the horchata. Not open until 12 which is a bummer cause I like to eat a little earlier usually.

I tried out the fried shrimp tacos and they were amazingly delicious and fresh. Fried shrimp, how can you go wrong? Also, come here if you want to hear Stephanie singing away as she waits on tables. I’ll also be trying out the shrimp quesadillas, salmon, and ceviche at the Boca location(Stephanie’s suggestions).

I used to crave Los Tacos rather frequently back when I worked in Miramar. The quality of the food is quite good, so it was never a problem convincing my co-worker to order from here. The one annoyance that kept me from going here more frequently is this: their dishes are large, and you don’t have the option of ordering smaller portions. I’m talking specifically about the tacos and the sopes, where you have no choice but to get three to an order. I have a hard time eating that much food. It would be nice if you could have the option of ordering two, but alas, that is not the case here. That being said, if you have a good appetite, you’ll enjoy your meal. On my first trip, I ordered the carne asada sopes without beans. These are HUGE. They look all tiny and cute in pictures, but don’t be deceived. I barely managed to eat two of them, and even then I was ridiculously full. I had no clue how it would reheat(given that it’s topped with a lot of lettuce and sour cream), so I brought it to a co-worker who hadn’t eaten anything and offered it to her. She was quite appreciative, and said it was still very good after reheating. I did not order the sopes on subsequent visits because of the size, so I stuck with tacos from then on out. Even then, their three tacos to an order are quite big and almost overly stuffed. I always stuck with the picadillo and chipotle tacos… but don’t call them that. The staff all refer to them as the«American favorite.» In other words, I’m a gringa. I’m okay with that. I ordered these with corn tortillas, with the ground beef, cheese and lettuce inside(I opted to not include the sour cream or pico de gallo). They’ll gladly put a small container of their salsa(I got the verde) on the side if you ask. These were very good, very filling tacos. One gripe is that sometimes they would be extremely greasy, which was rather unappetizing to see a pool of grease on the bottom of my container, while other times they wouldn’t be as bad. It was a tad inconsistent. When I had the choice between Salsa Fiesta in Pembroke Pines or Los Tacos, I usually opted for the former, even though it isn’t nearly as good. Why? Because I could order two tacos instead of three. Los Tacos really should consider offering some smaller portions of their food. I wasn’t the only person at my job who felt this way. If you plan on going with any semblance of frequency, use their SpotOn rewards. If you’ve used a SpotOn card elsewhere, you can use the same card here. I’m pretty sure I racked up enough points here over the course of my employment that I have something for free waiting for me at Los Tacos whenever I do venture back down that way. I’ll just make sure to come really hungry.

There were three things that immediately bugged me about the menu at Los Tacos: 1. Chips and Salsa are $ 3.99 2. Guacamole and Chips are $ 10.90(without an option for a side portion) 3. You cannot mix and match tacos. Plus, you don’t really get a choice of toppings. What really bothered me most was having to commit to three of the same taco fillings, especially at a new restaurant. If you pick a filling you are not fond of, then you are stuck. Plus, part of the fun of eating tacos for me, is trying different fillings. Most of the taco places in the area(including El Agave Azul, Salsa Fiesta, B.C., etc.) do let one mix & match. So under pressure I decided on the Chicken Tinga Tacos($ 10.90): tacos filled with shredded chicken breast in tomato chipotle sauce. The three tortillas were jam packed with chicken and topped with chopped onions. They were served with sauce on the side. The seasoning on the chicken, though, did not thrill me. I also would have liked some lettuce and tomato which were not offered. 10 year old made a much better choice with Los Sopes with Carne Asada filling($ 10.90). 10 year old asked for the little dough caps without beans, but they were topped with lettuce, tomato, pico de gallo, cheese, and sour cream. Absolutely delicious combination of flavors! We did order the chips and salsa but they never got to us. Oh well, I guess we saved some money money and calories! Other than that blip, service was seamless. The servers were friendly and once we ordered our food was out in less than five minutes. This place is certainly not for fine dining. It is very small, with a bar and a few tables for two. The décor is very festive with lots of bright colors. I might just have picked the wrong taco filling for my taste buds. I’m sure there are plenty of other options I might like. However, I’m not sure I’m ready to invest $ 10.90 on three tacos every time I want to try a different filling. With so many other taco places abounding in West Broward, it might be a while before I return to Los Tacos.

I have to say that this is the best Authentic Mexican Restaurant that I have been to. You may say that there are others but this is one of the best that my wife and I found. The restaurant on Pines Blvd will have another name, but the correct one is Los Tacos by Chef Omar. The atmosphere is very positive and welcoming. The staff and service is impeccable and always with a smile. My wife had the award winning Wet Burrito where the flavors are well balanced and contrasted with creaminess of a three cheese sauce that was made fresh daily. Now off-menu you will find an item that is called Tacos Locos that are made of Carne pastor, carne Assada, chucharones, guacamole and poco de gallo. Here is a challenge, can you identify the distinct flavor that is just in the back ground the my wife pointed out, it gives a wonderful bust of color. The menu is not large and just the right size with the right amount of items that the kitchen can execute without compromising Chef Omar’s standards of authentic Mexican cuisine. It is few and far between the I give a restaurant 5 of 5 stars, and this one deserves it. Eat and love well my friends!

Visited on a Friday night. This small place was packed. We waited outside a few minutes until someone finally left and seated ourselves. My recommendation: if you plan on eating from here at night on a Friday or Saturday — make sure you order ahead of time or do take out. We were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. The waiter came quickly over to us and took our order. He informed us they were out of beef(carne Asada) sucks because my hubby loves the carne Asada from here. I went with the fish tacos the waiter recommended were delicious and claimed they use mahi mahi — I was sold. My hubby ordered the enchiladas with shrimp. For an appetizer we decided on chips and salsa. The Food: average. My fish tacos were nice crispy and cooked well, but the texture of the fish did not seem like mahi mahi… Mahi should be somewhat firm and flaky… This fish was somewhat grounded or shredded, soft, and not what I would expect of a mahi. Seems to me maybe because it had been previously frozen. Also from my experience if the fish is mahi the restaurant owners usually proudly state Mahi Mahi and not tilapia or swai fillets. Okay enough about the fish ! :)) The sauce on the tacos and pico de gallo topping was good. My husbands enchiladas were good served with rice and beans. Unfortunately, after waiting for more than 30 minutes our food finally arrived and it was all cold/warm not even hot after waiting all that time. Also, the chips with our appetizer were stale. Disappointed with this place… Maybe we will return on a weeknight when they are not that busy… Let’s see.

I stopped in recently after hearing that«I Love Tacos» widely known for its authentic Mexican was opening a new location east of 75 on Pembroke Rd under the name«Los Tacos by Chef Omar» I’ve tried the Pines location and agree its as popular as it is authentic. Its always packed so an alternate location seems right except this one is quite small and located in somewhat of a crappy rundown stripmall. The food I thought was great, no different than my experience at its other location however this is not the type of place you’ll come in to eat with a family comfortably. Its only bar seating and slightly limited in space. I went on a Saturday afternoon and was fine but I can see where a packed establishment would be uncomfortable for dine in. I’ve returned since then for takeout and I admit its grown on me a bit, the place is cute. It is what it is and as long as the food is good I can’t complain. Is it my favorite Mexican for a nice sit down dinner with the friends and fam? No; but definitely not a bad option if I’m hangry for some tacos.
