Ive been an annual patient of Dr Torres for about 15 years. A few years ago we found out my mom was a diabetic and along with other issues her health complicated even further. As her only son, I became totally hands on involved in her health as never before. In no time I became her caregiver so naturally I introduced her to Dr Torres, she immediately took to his bedside manners and he showed much compassion for her. Not knowing anything about diabetes I asked him everything about it. First I had to learn to administer her insulin, so he prescribed a «pen» that easily gave her the insulin she needed, but first we had to find out«her number» as the doctor explained to me. In order to do this, I had to prick her finger a few times a day so I could read her sugar level and stabilize it with the proper amount of insulin. To do this Dr Torres asked me to call him each time during the day I drew the drop of blood required for a reading and therefore arrive at her insulin pen number. I called Dr Torres for what it seemed weeks, because she had a hard time with her new diet, and just getting used to a very different routine in our lives made the situation a bit more difficult. One night of many, on a saturday, I called Dr Torres with her new reading, he took my call as always, polite, always kind, however that night there was commotion in the background, I thanked him for taking my call and asked him if I had called at a bad time, ever so gently he told me his family was over his home celebrating his birthday. That’s my Doctor, whom has become my friend. I recommend him!
