Charlie’s Too

Got the haddock and shrimp basket with onion rings. The haddock was incredible — super fresh, lightly breaded and perfectly cooked. I’ve never had fried fish so moist. Loved the onion rings too. Service was attentive and friendly. Went for lunch but noticed a great beer selection too.

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. The owners are incredibly rude and disrespectful to their customers. My father and I were looking for a place to get takeout for dinner and decided to go with this restaurant. We pulled up their menu from their Facebook website and called to order our meals. When we got to the restaurant, they charged us almost eight dollars more per plate than the listed price on the menu. We disputed the charge, confused as to why it was so high. They told us that the Facebook page was outdated and had been run by a previous owner who had passed, leaving them no way to access the account to change the price. When we expressed our concern and disappointment their response was less than appropriate/​professional. one of the owners went as far as to call me an «idiot» and tell us they didn’t want us as customers. I will NEVER return to this restaurant. ****Once I posted this review, the owner sent me a personal message telling me if I didn’t have enough money to dine out then I should just stay home and that they don’t offer «hand outs». I am beyond disgusted with this place/​the owners. They state that I was offered the discounted price and a gift card. That is true! But the way they offered it was incredibly unprofessional … He handed me a $ 10 gift card an said that we can use it to get my discounted price with a sarcastic rude attitude. When my father walked away and said I’m not giving you my business, the owner said «well I’m not going to throw away this food so I guess I HAVE to lower the price for you now» and took the gift card back. My father left and I stayed behind to tell the owner how rude he was being and how inappropriate he was. The icing on the cake was when I was walking out the door to leave, he called me an «idiot».

Ate here for the first time and I am really impressed with Charlie’s Too! Fresh seafood cooked up fresh! I got the clam strip basket with carrots and my son got their haddock nugget basket with onion rings. He cleaned his plate, which is rare for him. The clams and fish were so fresh and the onion rings were perfect. Dessert was delicious too –their berry tart is awesome! I can’t wait to try the bread pudding! Steady flow on a Friday night and everyone around seemed happy with their meals. Neat chalkboard tables for the kids (and parents) to draw on too.

Charlie’s Too! Is by far the best seafood restaurant I have ever been to! The best part is that they have soo much more to offer than seafood! I have been here numerous times and will continue to keep coming back! Every single thing I personally have ordered at Charlie’s is fantastic! The bronzed sea scallops, bronzed shrimp, sandwiches, spicy fries… Just to name a few, have all blown me away! Everything is always so fresh, cooked to perfection and I always leave 110% satisfied. I love the wide selection of beers! The desserts are to die for!!! The owners are awesome! They’re so nice and always make a point to come out to say hi to me when I am there! The waitstaff is fantastic! Everyone is always so friendly and make me feel right at home! I will DEFINATELY be coming back to Charlie’s Too! Keep up the good work!!!

Ya lost a star tonight guys!
I got take out a couple times and it was totally 5 star, burgers are great, fries are delish… My hubs says the fishermans plate is the best! But I was so disappointed that the bacon and bleu didn’t have bleu cheese and instead had salad dressing! The onion rings weren’t great either… The service was awesome! She was bringing the food and a shrimp jumped off the plate (we didn’t see it happen) we only found out because she brought a replacement! Such a sweet heart!
Still highly recommended, but just stick to a bacon cheese burger, any of the sea food and the spicy fries!

This is not fine dinning but the better restaurants in the area could take lessons from these guys. Their good is clean, not busy just lots of flavor.

Although the service is kind of slow, the BLT that I ordered was delicious. I’m not a fan of seafood, so I was very pleased to see that there was something for everyone. I got a side of fries and onion rings and they were also very tasty. Prices were pretty foot to. Overall, a very good place to stop in.

For me, three stars is equivalent to something like «I’d happily dine here again, but wouldn’t go out of my way for it.» That about sums it up for Charlie’s. Prices are reasonable, service is quick, and the menu is expansive. The seafood is fresh, but the breading could use a little more punch. .. maybe just a bit more salt or something? It was a bit doughy and a bit bland, in my opinion. And as much as I liked the coleslaw and fries and quality of the ingredients, for a place that specializes in battered fried seafood, the batter part seems pretty important.
Anyway, I’m still looking forward to visiting again. I just picked up takeout last time, but the interior and patio seating looks welcoming and tap list looks decent.

Great Fries, good fish sandwich (it was a little too oily but the bun was awesome). Limited draft selection but always has Sam Adams seasonal on tap. The waitresses are nice and the service is fast!

It’s no wonder the place was empty! The fry cook was over the top rude to me and my son and the food was horrible. We specifically went there thinking that in the past this was a «kid friendly», casual place to eat with good food. Well, I don’t know what happened since we were there last, about a year or so ago, but things have totally changed for the worse! This place was a little bit pricey and the portions are small for the money. The «sea scallops» were tasty but the smallest sea scallops I have ever seen and the breading around them was puffed up to make them seem bigger than they really were. I think for the money they are charging you can do a whole lot better for good seafood.

First or second place I go when I go back home. Clam strips are great. Great staff too.

Don’t forget that Charlie’s Too is normally closed for most of the month of January. This year, 2014, they are closed from January 1 to January 22.

It was pretty good. Very clean. Good service. Was well priced. Fresh. And bonus for reusing the oil for biodiesel.

I went here with the boy and his mother for dinner last weekend. I have to say I enjoyed the atmosphere, open and clean, modern, and quite inviting. You could show up in a t-​shirt and jeans, or get a little dolled up, anything goes.
I opted for the fried sea scallop basket, which comes with fries and tarter sauce… for only 12.99!!! And the scallops were awesome! Like fried to perfection, delish batter… nice crisp fries, soft in the center… I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised! Minor, minor, minor gripe… you didn’t get much food… BUT for the price… can one complain really? And the quality was seriously legit and top notch. Definitely a serious contender when comparing to other places. Next time… because there WILL be a next time, I will get the plate for 18 bucks and get more yummy scallops, and an extra side (cole slaw). We all got fried seafood FYI.
You want some amazingly delish/​quality seafood for a beyond reasonable price… COME HERE NOW lol!

Stopped here for the first time on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Two other customers in the place which surprised me. I am a scallop roll devotee and was not disappointed. Onion rings were very good although a smoother batter than you usually see. My wife is fairly picky and was impressed with her fish sandwich. Good solid food at fair prices

My son and I each got lobster rolls; one medium and one large. I didn’t think there was too much difference in size, but they were great. Just one leaf of lettuce, no other filler at all. Maybe a tad more mayo than some might like, and it did have a hint of lemon. But good sized chunks of lobster. The buttered/​grilled hot dog roll was nice, too. I would get it again.

This place is hit the spot. Random location but if you’re in the mood for seafood & live around here it’s worth it. The lobster rolls were very good– 3 sizes to choose from — i recommend the medium. Typical seafood place– cute décor; very beacy.

Must be new owners b/​c the place has completely changed since we were there years ago. It’s sit down service now and they have beer and wine. It was quite crowded when we were there and people were coming in to pick up take out orders. I had a
gift certificate so that’s what got me back in there and I’m glad it did. I got grilled haddock and my DH got a fishermans platter, both were very good. They have wonderful looking desserts but we will have to leave that for our next visit. Nice outside area too and definitely the cleanest restaurant we have ever seen.
