I have been here one time only to pick strawberries at the beginning of the season. The owner/farmer is very pleasant and took me down to the strawberry patch himself since I told him that I had never been there before. I think I got here after the craze because it took a bit of detective work to find the good berries, but nevertheless I was able to fill up five pints. They weren’t exactly a bargain at $ 3 a pint for something you picked yourself, but I don’t feel bad since it’s supporting a local farmer. This place also offers CSA shares for those who like to eat local all year long, so don’t think this is JUST a berry farm, per se… I would participate if I knew I would be able to eat and use all of it. The website for the farm is a little primitive but who cares… it tells you everything you need to know: what food is ready during which months. The owner also updates their Facebook page with their hours and status of the crops since it can change from day to day. Overall, I had a great time here… I spent a few hours in the fresh air away from technology and people and came up with some tasty strawberries for my jam. That being said, if you do come here please don’t ruin it for the other people out picking by having your cell phone on full blast… unplug for a little bit and enjoy it. I will definitely be back here this summer to see how the other fruits and veggies fare:)
