For me, it is an essential journey to the historic Chinquapin Inn at least once every year for the last 20 years. I have to return to this idyllic setting, on the grounds of Penland School of Crafts, because it is where I find my peace and serenity in order to face the real world. I always bring a dear friend or a family member to share in this experience and they are always as enchanted as I am, every time. Sue will fill you with creative, delicious, and organic breakfasts and share all she knows about Penland, local artists, and where to go and explore. Bill loves to tell stories from The Hills and will give you an oral history of Penland and«Miss Lucy.» The rooms are spotless, cozy and warm, decorated with antiques and art, and perfect for single travelers, students, young lovers, old friends, and families. The Inn is surrounded by dense flora and fauna with secluded areas to walk around or sit quietly and commune with nature. Come and share in the harmony!
