This park is a fun and safe place to bring the kids to explore and play. As long as the kids are playing safely with adult supervision(in my case over protective grandma) I did not appreciate the older man who identified himself as a «board member» and proceeded to yell at my grandson because he didn’t approve of how he was climbing on the climbing structure.

Western Gateway Regional Park is a hidden gem nestled in Penn Valley and it’s one of the best parks in the foothills! Amazing grassy fields and creek that runs through where people can take a quick dip — also the typical basketball courts and mini playground are on the property. Another amazing amenity is a amphitheater area where festivals and BBQ cookoffs are typically held. They have just installed new Bocci ball courts as well which are very nice ! My favorite part about the park is the 18 hole Disc Golf course properly named Hanging Oaks — a challenging course in itself with multiple pin placements and nice teepads and signs — the course is also fairly easy to navigate! I would highly recommend checking out the park if your in the area; the tranquility of the area is epic!

Such a nice little park! I love walking on the trail that goes in front of the park! Most of the restrooms could use some better up keep, but overall the park is kept clean and it’s just a beautiful atmosphere!

My four stars are based on what this park is really meant to be — a neighborhood park. It’s not a world-class park, it’s not a place to be written about in song and story, but it’s a really awesome neighborhood park. My dogs love going for a walk here. It’s a great park!

I am so proud to be the first to review this. During the first part of my life, this was my favorite place in the world! Looking back on the place and going back there on occasion, I love it and it has somehting for everyone. My mother had her baby shower here in the cottage and always told me how hot it was. There are three different playgrounds. Awesome spots for BBQ and picnics. Basketball courts and a recreation trail with exercises. But the best part was swimming in the creek. This is also where little league is played. Lots and lots of acres. Ahhh the memories!
