Without a doubt the most unfriendly winery we visited during our Finger Lakes wine tour. Staff not very talkative or informative. All the white wines were served warm with a «…these taste better when chilled» caveat by the lady pouring… Really? Visited the next winery and met other people who had a similar experience. Overall exceptionally poor experience. Too many other fantastic wineries in the area to waste time here. Will not return nor recommend.

Five stars solely for that rosé. I wish I could I find it on the shelves of a liquor store in Rochester, but alas no luck. Guess that means I’ll need to buy a case on my next visit.(Fun fact: I discovered you can order off their website so I just bought 6 bottles). $ 2 to taste five wines. If you buy a bottle, the $ 2 fee is waived. If you have a group of 10 or more, call ahead to make a reservation. I tried the dry rosé, dry riesling, gewurztraminer, cab franc, and reserve pinot noir. All of them were fabulous, but the rosé was the star for me — well balanced, refreshing, great for every day drinking, and always great in the summer. Bonus: cute cat wandering on the patio area when we walked in. Mew!

Someone claiming to be the owner’s son contacted me via Unilocal and told me to «stay away» from Seneca Shore because I could not appreciate their«fine wine» due to my «unsophisticated» palate. Is this a joke?

Great winery with a good selection of reasonably priced wines. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would certainly recommend a stop here.

Great winery! It was a fun experience to stop here on our tour. We had a larger group(15) and they were more than welcoming. So many wines to choose from and they did not even charge us for the tasting! We purchased several bottles of wine. The staff was very friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Seneca for a wine tour!

This place was delightful!!! It’s $ 2⁄5 wines. She did not collect the $ 2 fee if you bought wine! She was vey nice and friendly toward the kids we had. Gave them some pineapple-orange juice. They had some great wines. We enjoyed the sweet ones especially Way nicer personality than some other wineries we stopped at.

This review is biased. Ok you have been warned. There isn’t a wine I do not like from Seneca Shore wine cellars. My favorites are the Black Red(perfection with pizza) and Forbidden Apple. I will tack on this Forbidden Apple. It seems like they named this gem properly… because it is ALWAYSSOLDOUT! I repeat… always sold out. There isn’t a better apple wine made. I am not a fan of sweet wines, let alone at room temperature. If you make a stop here and LUCKY enough to taste and purchase… have a glass of this stuff and follow up with vying a case. And I mean the case you keep for yourself… do not share!

No frills winery with Plastic Dixie cups. Between the two of us, there wasn’t a single wine that we liked. The employees weren’t overly friendly either. I think we will skip this on our next trip to the Finger Lakes.

Not much to look at on the outside but its a friendly, quirky little winery that’s dressed up in a medieval spirit in the inside. Didn’t love the reds so we bought a bottle of their Traminette and their Chardonnay which were both easy-drinking whites.

So I want to get it out of the way that I work at the Castle winery in Napa, but never have they forced us to wear those terrible costumes with their regular clothes poking through. I understand that you’re trying to create an atmosphere but it just took me out of it to see how threadbare the costumes had become. That being said, they had the best blueberry wine that I’ve ever had and their other fruit wines were delicious as well. The lady was fantastic and even introduced us all to the magic that is a blueberry wine slushie. It was a lot of fun for our last winery visit.

Tasting room decorated like medival castle. Wine tasting is complimentary, staffs are very friendly. They have easy drinkable wines with reasonable price. Their port is tasty.

I loved this place. It was one of the last places we went on a weekend birthday wine tour, and this place is so unique. We walked in and were greeted by several people in medieval mage robes. The owner is apparently very into knights and round tables and all that, and it was very cool in a don’t-take-yourself-so-seriously way. The wine tasting is FREE, which is always appreciated, and all the wines were delicious. In all, an excellent experience. We will definitely go back if we find ourselves in the area again.
