This place has the gold standard for banh mi sandwiches. The best French bread. It’s so crusty and right. Great fillings. The pickled veggies are good — make sure you ask for the fresh jalapeños. The Vietnamese cold cut combo is my fav. Their bubble tea is also in a league of its own. Try their fresh avocado flavor! It’s a fruit — it works so well as a sweet dessert. Good service and very reasonable prices.

This place is the bomb! I was only in town for 2 months and ate that every weekend for lunch and sometimes dinner. Good phở and the rice dishes are spot on, I was just in Hanoi, Vietnam and the food tasted exactly the same!

Great Bahn mi! We were passing through Pensacola on the way to Louisiana and was recommended by friend to try this place out. The food is really good. Very clean.

Come here for all your banh mi needs – wow. This is pretty much the only place in Pensacola to get a good Vietnamese Sandwich. I’m not sure if the other Vietnamese restaurants in a 20 mile radius even sell banh mi. Yummy Deli is located in the minuscule«Asian area» of Pensacola which also happens to be in a lower socioeconomic class area(common to see prostitutes roaming the streets and such). Their baguettes are on point and the meat they use is very flavorful. I think the bread is the most important anatomy of the sandwich. The beautiful ensembles are the typical size along with the typical cheap price. I’ve also had the phở here which is decent. They really only have one type of bowl of phở you can get which makes the decision easy. I’ll keep coming back to Yummy Deli as long as I’m in P-cola living the life. This spot makes me miss Lee’s Sandwiches.

LOVE the grilled pork banh mi here! Phở & the spring rolls are also another automatic go-to for me. They tend to get busy during lunch, but as long as you call ahead, you’ll be good to go! I say everything they serve is always worth the try if you never had it before. Can’t knock it till you try it! Every time I am in town I have to stop by this place on the way to my moms, with it being the only vietnamese cuisine in the west side of town, it make’s it super convenient(so i don’t have to go out of my way) and they also serve tofu spring rolls for vegetarians(my moms favorite). Overall, it’s definitely worth the stop & try!

I order their bun bo hue today. No. Just no. Whatever it was they served me was not bun bo hue. This makes me question what their phở taste like. I wanted to order some banh mi too but when I looked at the meat and vegetable storage on the counter I just couldn’t trust that the meat wasn’t going to make me sick. So I passed. This place is Asian owned so I wasn’t looking for any good customer service, just hopefully good food. I’m a little disappointed the food wasn’t better. I love to support mom and pop establishments but I cannot return here.

I mainly come here for their sandwiches. Its the only vietnamese sandwich store ive been able to locate here in pensacola and surrounding areas. The service was quick and the staff were all polite. The prices are reasonable and the sandwiches taste great. Being the only place I know that makes them here… there is no one else to compare to. I generally make orders of 10… mostly when going on a day trip and the sandwiches last the day without becoming harden or stale. They pack the inside of their sandwiches with a generous amount of food. Ive used both phone ordering and in person order for 10+ sandwiches and the orders have always been correct. I would recommend them if you are looking for a good vietnamese sandwich store.

I didn’t expect it to take this long for my rice cake rolls. Not that busy today either, usually the 20 mins wait is already a drag for us. Extremely hungry, waited literally an hour! He made my sandwiches when I paid, I wish he didn’t. :( I came home with wet and cold sandwiches I had to take out all the veggies and toast my bread. On top of that they never put peanuts on my rice rolls and today they did.

MMM! Yummi Deli totally fit the bill for my banh mi craving! Stopped by here on a Sunday to meet up with some friends and to eat some sandwiches. I wanted a simple place to order food, grab a table, eat, and then leave. I was on a time crunch so this no frills place was perfect! I ordered the cold cut combo and grilled pork & beef banh mi to share with my partner. I walked my friend through the menu since she never had a banh mi style sandwich before. I suggested she try the chicken and egg one since she liked chicken and fried eggs, HAH! After ordering we chose a table and sat down to wait. There are a good number of small tables with chairs to choose from so meeting with a small group is possible. Drinks were available by can/bottle or you can order boba drinks. Luckily for me, they also had Vietnamese iced coffee to help perk me up! Anyway, my banh mi was delicious! What made it different was the fluffy baguette bread that they used for their sandwiches. Traditionally, I’ve had banh mi served with a light crusty sandwich bread, but the bread here had more of a fluffy dough filling. All in all, it was a great pit stop for a quick bite to eat and to have a little pow wow with friends!

It is easy to find. Dont be fooled by the appearance since its all about the food here. No frills in the service dept either. Walk up to counter. I liked that it is a simple menu. Pictures on the wall was a big help. In case you are wondering, they speak English so relax. Grabbed a couple of drinks from the fridge. Paid for it, found a table and waited about 10 minutes since it is prepared to order. The sandwiches are prepared in front of you, if you care to watch. They call out your order and you pick it up at the counter. No frills remember? Picked off the cilantro from his half and promptly Relocated it to mine. Guess it is an acquired taste. They must make the bread onsite, which was a bonus. If you are extra hungry spring for the $ 2 extra meat AND it bumps your sandwich to a foot long. Devoured the grilled pork Bahn mi sandwich! Also got the shrimp & pork springroll. 3 rolls to an order and the peanut sauce elevated them from ordinary to yummy! I typically skip the sauces, but theirs was exactly right. I saw one of their Vietnamese customers ordered a noodle bowl with grilled pork. It looked good too. Yes I am a plate gawker! I unashamedly look to see what landed on other tables. It helps streamline a first visit. Excellent food value. If I ever come through here again, I will try the phở.

It seems to be the only banh mi in town now that Porchetta’s is closed. Price of $ 4 for the sandwich was ok, but for $ 2 more you get the«I’m hungry«meat portion. Not sure if it’s worth it. I’ll probably go again. Hey it’s Cervantes street, don’t worry you probably won’t get shot. Besides it’s just down the street from two big Vietnamese stores.

Great food at great prices. The young guy and young girl here are great at customer service. BUT, I’m sorry, but it does have a BUT and it needs to be mentioned so they can do something about it: It says on the door they open at 8, but instead, the ladies show up at 8 to start stocking and the older lady behind the counter just spent 30 minutes on her cell, obviously not getting much done. Please, if you can’t commit to the hours you claim, just change them. It’s very misleading. And get her off the phone. Also, this place used to really be a great buy, but a 12″ sandwich isn’t really 12, but more like 10. And even if you ask for extra meat you won’t be able to tell the difference… Come on, Yummi! Extra meat means I should be able to tell there is a noticeable amount of meat in my sandwich. You used to. Not anymore

Be warned, you’ll fall in love at first bite. Yummi Deli was suggested to me as the best place for Phở(soup). But, not only is the phở brilliant, so are the Banh Mi. The Vietnamese know pork like the Cubans do, maybe a little bit better, and they apparently know how to bring it all together with their Banh Mi sandwiches and phở noodle soup. This is now my favorite, yes it’s divey, dicey and yet delicious. Sometimes ya gotta take the good with the bad. And everything here eats real good.

I came here today with my best friend for lunch. We shared a Banh Mi, she had the Phở Bo, and I had the Bun Bo Hue. We had a Banh Mi Xiu Mai(meat ball), Pâté, and Cha(steam pork paste). The Banh Mi was edible but not good compared to all the ones back home in Houston. The Xiu Mai was a little on the tough side and tasteless. If you want Phở, there’s only one option. Phở Bo(beef). You don’t get to choose what kinds of meats you want and create your bowl because it’s already set. That’s weird. I’ve never been anywhere like this. The both was. Not necessarily bland but it doesn’t taste like what Phở should taste like. As for the Bun Bo Hue, I could already tell by the color of the broth when it came out that it wasn’t good. I was right when I tasted it. The Bun Bo Hue lacked flavor. There were big chunks of chewy beef and tendon. I think what they are lacking might be Mam Ruoc(shrimp paste) but I’m unsure because it was so bland that they were probably lacking many things. The people here were very friendly and nice. Service was good. I wish I could give them more stars but the food was horrible. Maybe it’s because I’m visiting from Houston and where I’m from the Vietnamese population is greater than what it is here so my expectations are much higher. Either way, I wouldn’t go here.

Overrated. I give this place 3 stars as an update. First of all, they’re friendly. But the lady got my order wrong. We ordered for a large Taro bubble drink, but we got a small because she misheard us. Sad that they didn’t do anything about it, not even apologize. And what’s weirder is that I was expecting to get the typical purple-colored Taro bubble drink, but it was white. I am assuming that they used real taro to make the drink this time around… but pictures they have up and people’s pictures on Unilocal prove otherwise; it’s misleading. I wanted my PURPLE Taro! The«white taro» bubble drink I got wasn’t as appetizing. Next, I got a grilled pork banh mi sandwich. FLAVORISEXCELLENT. It’s the best banh mi in the Panhandle. No other places here taste like it! It’s authentic and reminds me of the good Asian food in the West Coast. However, we were disappointed for having stale bread. =(It’s just not an overall good eating experience when you have such good flavors but STALEBREAD! It’s a sandwich! Come on! I also give the place 3 stars because I mean… The place is a little ghetto. Inside, it seems… lacking interiorly. They need to clean up a bit. We sat down to eat in the small area with few tables BUT our table was covered in crumbs! Seriously?! There’s only like 4 sets of tables and they’re all dirty. Smh. Go clean up! And we have a baby. Their business needs at least one highchair if they ever wish to have more customers take the time to eat in there. If not, just make it a to-go restaurant! I feel like I should give 2 stars, but I’ll be nice.

I’m sad to have to update this review with a diminution of stars, but my sandwich the other day was very disappointing. The sandwiches are now $ 4, which would still be a great deal…*if* the sandwiches were as good as they used to be. They aren’t. Or, at least, mine wasn’t. I got the cold cut combo this time and there was hardly any meat on the thing. Nobody can accuse me of not knowing that of which I speak, because I have had many ban mi ‘wiches from Yummi in the past. The one that I had recently was in no fashion like the ones that I have bought in the past. Now you have the option of paying an extra $ 2 for a sandwich with more meat and larger bread. Maybe that’s why the«regular» ban mi is so chintzy. I dunno. Now phở is on the menu every day, along with some other things. I was too busy salivating and anticipating my lunch to pay attention. Clean place, nice people. No paper towels in the bathroom. I’ll go back, but I won’t be nearly as enthusiastic as I was the other day. Your experience may be better. I hope so. Read my initial review and compare it to this update… I am not happy to pan one of my favorite places, but I am compelled to do so.

After trekking around West Pensacola for an hour, I found myself here. If haven’t been here yet, keep a few things in mind: they’ll put all topping on the bahn mi unless you specify(mayo, jalapeños, cucumber, pickles radish and carrots, cilantro), the prices from the 2013 menus in the pictures have changed(bahn mi, eggrolls, and phở are up, a sign on the front counter explains that the price in meat have gone up, but they want to keep the quality the same, so they’ve bumped them up too), prices include tax, and prepare to wait a little. I order Milk Tea Bubble Tea/Boba($ 3.25 for a small). I also bought Banh Mi Nem Nuong($ 4) and a Bahn Bao($ 1.25). Total: $ 9.50 The boba was alright(first time trying milk tea, but I prefer avacado overall, plus I have a tasty recipe for it, so I’m set forever). The bahn mi was pretty okay. It’s only one of the many they have, so I’ll keep trying the other. I’ll taste some of the other dishes when I get a chance. I haven’t eaten my bahn bao yet, but I have noticed that it’s significantly smaller then the ones at Bien Dong Oriental Market($ 1.79) down the street. I’m full at the moment, but I’ll taste test the two and see which is tastier. There may or may not be boba and bahn mi punch cards. I saw some, but I forgot to ask the guy working for one. Overall, it was pretty okay. They all seem nice and polite. It’s too far away for me to regularly go there to eat. I’ll probably bring my parents here for some lunch when they come up to get their opinion.
