Abe’s Candies and Popcorn

Worst business in Peoria. Customer service is terrible. If you like buying your popcorn from a person with a personality disorder, go here. The owner is nuts!!!

I have shopped here for many years but today was the last time. The owner is an absolute jerk and quite offensive. The $ 4.00 card he made a scene about will cost him hundreds of times that in my lost business.

I can’t remember the last time I was treated worse by someone at a local store. A guy named Lance worked behind the counter and was extremely rude to me. He thought my shopping was putting him out. Hey Lance, if you don’t want to help customers, then find another line of work. I would stay away from this place. I don’t need to pay higher prices and be treated rudely.

I LOVE THIS STORE! They always have THE most unique gift items (Today I found Woozies… Coozies for wine glasses!), as well as the best selection of Tervis tumblers, homemade popcorn and carmelcorn, lots of dip mixes and other gourmet food/​drink items, and old fashioned candy.
I WISH Abe’s would come down to Texas!!!

Great place to find fun kitchen-​y gifts and good treats. They of course have the caramel corn, but also lots of vintage and interesting candies to choose from. They have a selection of bath and body lotions and shower gels and some fun toys, too.

I have been a loyal customer to Abe’s for many years not only enjoying their popcorn and candy selection but also the (slightly higher priced) kitchen and home goods. I have always justified spending a little more here knowing that I was contributing to a small local business. Even after I moved out of Peoria I would always make a point of stopping by when I was in town. Today I stopped in and began gathering an armful of goods only to overhear the gentleman working the front counter very loudly discussing his political opinion with what I can only describe as a very racist undertone. I felt very sick to my stomach, placed my items back on the shelves and left. I am very sad that this person would bring his political opinions to his workplace as this was not the time or place. As for the racisim there is never a time or place. How unfortunate.
