Firehouse Subs

This place is ridiculously awesome! I am not a huge sub fan but have on several occasions drove 40 minutes to get here just for a sub. I’ve been hooked on the Italian sub. Each time I go in I tell myself I’m going to try something else but it never happens. I found what I love and am sticking with it!

Soo many new subs places popping up in this area lately. This one is pretty good. The one thing that does separate them from the others is a large selection of hot sauce for the heat seekers out there. Ranging from warm to one that will make ya fear your next bowl moment.

First time ever visiting a Firehouse subs was last week. They are very good. Good value for what you get and yum yum.
I’ve been back a second time since for more.
The turkey bacon ranch is good and their brisket with cheddar is actually very good too surprisingly.
Keep up the quality.
The hospitality could use a little work but that comes from the bosses from the top in each store.

Really nice clean place. I like the subs. Parking isn’t the best though. Also, i hate that you have to walk all the way in to order and when there is a line, it isn’t very accomodating. The tables are in the way. It just wasn’t organized well in there but the food and service is ok.

Best sub place in town. The decorations are cool too. There are pictures of fire truck and houses and even fire helmets and axes.

First time trying this place. Seemed very clean and staff was very friendly. Went with the steak and cheese. Very good flavor but it was awfully small. I’m used to jersey mikes regular steak and cheese and you get much more meat there. Overall decent and there are other things on the menu that I want to try. But if I had to choose a steak and cheese I would go with the jersey mikes.

I ordered the Meatball sub to go and I had them make it ‘Sweet & Spicy’ style. Damn good! It’s the best fast-​food meatball sub I’ve had yet.

Best sub sandwich that I’ve ever had! Get the #5, you won’t regret it!

We go there at least once a week and have never been disappointed. Tried most of the sandwiches. All great.

I am never disappointed here the sandwiches are Always good and fresh the owners greet everyone and are so good at making you feel welcome. My current favorite is the turkey cranberry and I add bacon cause everything is better with bacon.

Me and my wife just tried it for the first time. Service was great and both of us thought the food was delicious.

My fiancée and I have eaten here twice since it opened. They have very good food and a nice clean enviroment. What keeps this from being 5 stars are two things: #1 the coke dispenser has choices for so many different sodas but only a fraction of them are actually available. #2 the wait time is really long. Took about 15 minutes total with only one person ahead of us. The staff is friendly and they do a nice job of explaining their menu to new customers but this can be a hassle if you don’t call ahead and are heading there for a lunch break or any time sensitive reason. Overall a good place to eat a nice hot sammich.

These are everywhere down in Birmingham, AL, so I have eaten at various locations many times. I was so glad to see one open in Peoria!
For those who have never visited Firehouse — think of them as an upscale version of Subway and Jimmy John’s. Their sandwiches are much higher quality and much heartier. They have a lot of selections and allow you to customize. They’ve also got really good chili and one of the new soda machines with tons of flavor options.
In my experience, the best sandwiches are:
The Meatball — As someone else mentioned, get it sweet and spicy (all they do is add red pepper flakes and a sweet sauce to the regular marinara but it makes a huge difference)
The Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket — If you like BBQ at all, give this a try. The brisket is smoked pretty well and the sauce is really tangy
The Firehouse Hero — I like to add cheddar cheese and ranch to this one, but it’s good even if you go with the regular. Their meat has a lot of flavor, so it really shines through
The Turkey Bacon Ranch — Be warned, this one gets messy! It’s really good though, especially if you love ranch
The staff seems to be pretty good. The guy who has been at the register every time I’ve gone in is very helpful and knowledgeable. The sandwiches are not quite what I remember though. The quality seems to be a bit lower. That’s not to say that they aren’t good — they just aren’t quite as good as the locations I’ve visited in the past. Since this location is new and they are still learning, I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt. The restaurant has been very clean each time I’ve been inside.
Don’t expect to go in and pay $ 5 for a footlong (or large, as they call them). You will pay more for the better quality. Most of their sandwiches cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $ 6 for the medium and $ 9 for the large. The combos (chips/​drink) are generally a couple of bucks more than the sandwich alone.
I don’t know that I would go in there during the lunch rush because of the location/​parking situation. There is very limited parking and it shares a general area with an Arby’s and a few little shops. I think if they begin doing the online ordering like the other locations I’ve visited, they might be able to cut down on the amount of people in the lot at one time as they won’t have as many people waiting on orders.
All in all, I’d give this location a solid thumbs up. They still have some kinks to iron out, but I think it will be okay. Give them a shot — you won’t be sorry!

Most mediocre meatball sandwich I’ve ever had, girlfriend felt the same way about her turkey sandwich. Clean environment and friendly staff, though. Probably won’t be going back.

We have gone to Firehouse subs all over Florida and in St.Louis. We stopped by this one in Peoria and we had the BEST sandwich ever here! Hoping for one to open in Bloomington. Until then, we will be back to Peoria! Great job!

I’ve visited Firehouse Subs three times since they have opened and really like the place. May have the best meatball sub sandwich I’ve had. Get the sweet and spicy sauce. What struck me was that the sandwich you get actually looks like the one on the menu. Lots of meat on them. If you’re into hot sauce, they have a huge selection of sauces and you can pick and choose your favorite.
The Chain was supposedly the first to install the new Coke machines that have over 120 favors available. So you have a selection of drinks, including tea and water to choose from.
Location is a bit of a hassle to get to, and parking is a bit tight. Pricing is a bit higher than other sub shops, but you get a much better sandwich, steamed, and loaded with meat and goodies.
Service is a bit slower, longest wait has been about five minutes. But it’s worth it.

Fabulous and Very Impressive! Great food. Fresh and just Really Really Good!
I had a ½ Club Sub on wheat for only 6.19 that was as good as it gets. Blows Jimmy Johns out of the water. Learned from one of the owners (two brothers) that this franchise was started by a couple of firefighters. Very High Standards for Food, Service and atmosphere. This place is a Must do! You won’t be disappointed. So happy to hear that they even do catering for groups so I will be recommending them to work for our business meetings.

I was happy to see Peoria get a firehouse subs after enjoying it frequently in Florida. Very fresh great tasting subs. Waited over 15 minutes and food was wrong, but they did make it right and even have free sub coupon. Obvious who the kind caring owners were versus the green poorly trained employees. Once they work out the kinks it will be awesome
