We have boarded our dogs at the Pet Resort over a period of 12 years. With our older dog, the staff was well-informed about her needs and was very thorough and attentive to her needs. She always came home in great shape. In the past two years, our experience has been uneven. During some visits, our younger dog has had medication, walks and other specific needs attended to as requested. Other times, he has not had medication consistently and lost a significant amount of weight during a longer stay from not eating. He is very sensitive and we think he doesn’t tolerate the sheer number of dogs/noise level at the Resort very well. They have more high school students working than they used to and some of them are very good, know the dogs well, and are very attentive. Others have given him food that he can’t have or missed medication, in part, because they don’t know or become familiar with health instructions entered in the computer. At the end of his last stay, he was still damp from his bath, hadn’t been brushed out before I picked him up, and his nails weren’t trimmed. When I got him home, I had to brush him out in the garage to avoid having dog hair all over the house. If your pet isn’t supersensitive or doesn’t have health needs that require daily attention, this may be a better facility for you. We are looking for a better fit for our dog.

I have used this kennel to board my dogs for over 16 years. I find the staff to be knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Only once was there a kennel cough issue and that was then they took in the homeless dogs from hurricane Katrina. I had a male that was difficult and I could always trust they knew how to take care of him. My remaining girl is getting older, and they take care of her very well. It’s not the same as being home but at least I can leave my dogs there and trust they will be safe

It was a not very good kennel. If you didn’t have many other choices I would maybe recommend this one… The staff is not very friendly, their pickup times are confusing and change and my dog, who at the end of an about 5 days came back with Kennel Cough. They look fancy but they keep the dogs in cages They do offer a bath before the dog gets back but it barely seemed like my dog was given one even though she was– she still smelled bad like kennels. *Edit– my cat, who went to the same shelter a week later for a few days came back with ear mites. * Edit 2– the dog was boarded in June 2015 not 2005. And this is Peoria, 800 miles from New Orleans.
