Tried this for the first time today and it was excellent! I had the chicken shawarma sandwich and it was delicious! The owner was extremely friendly! I will definitely be going back here soon!

This place is everything Khoury’s pretends to be. Excellent food, extremely nice people that run it, super authentic(as in there isn’t one American item on the menu, or French fries), and very well seasoned. I really wish I went to this place first. It is the bomb. I got the chicken kabob plate. 2 skewers of chicken over rice, grilled tomato and bell pepper, salad, and hummus. When the guy found out it was my first visit he gave me a falafel appetizer for free. With an unsweetened tea the grand total was $ 13. My only complaint is I am leaving the area tomorrow so I wont get an opportunity to try everything on the menu.

Easily one of Peoria’s best restaurants. The owner is so friendly and his food is outstanding. I usually get the cabbage roll plate and my husband always gets a kabob plate. Everything is always prepared fresh and always tastes delicious! It’s always a great experience eating here. We ate here yesterday and my husband commented that this would be the perfect place for Guy from Diners, Drive-In’s and Dives to explore. Try it, you won’t be sorry!

I had an afternoon to myself and wanted a little lunch before I began the grocery shopping so I played a little Unilocal Roulette and struck Kabab G. I may never hit the lotto because I use up all my good luck finding outstanding places to eat. :) It’s an off time on a Sat so the place is empty. It is also spotlessly clean and cozy feeling. A nice step up from a fast food place, but still fast counter service. I asked what was good and the owner said«it all is» and after eating my lunch, I believe it! He recommended their gyro. Now this gyro is to what most think of as a gyro what a gastro pub burger is to a hamburger. This is thinly sliced deliciously marinated beef and/or chicken, served on a bed of rice with onions and parsley, sauce on the side and the most lovely little warm packets of pita. The plate comes with hummus(outstanding) and a simply side salad dressed with oil and vinegar dressing. That salad really rounded out the plate. This plate was huge and a steal at $ 12. I ate most of it and I was full at the halfway point! Lol. This could easily be split among two so you could order other tasty things. He also gave me falafel to try. Lightly crispy outside, lovely and moist inside and very flavorful. But hands down, the meat took the trophy home. This was so tender and richly flavored that I found myself almost powerless to stop eating it. I really wanted to try dessert but if I eat one more bite, I’ll explode. The baklava looks wonderful. I may have to eat it first next time just to make sure I taste it. Because I fully intend to work my way through this menu. This place is tucked back in the little mall next to Great Plains Ortho, just off Pioneer. Google Maps led me right here. Whatever you’re eating right now, put it down and run here. You won’t regret it.

Absolutely amazing food. Got the chicken kebab because I saw another customers plate and it looked so delicious. Looks delivered! So good, the garlic really popped and fresh ingredients in every portion of my plate! Definitely will be back again

Fantastic food! I have been there a handful of times and easily the best Lebanese/Mediterranean food around! And the owner is the most friendly guy ever. Very welcoming, and will continue to eat here!

Excellent food. I wish it was right off the road but it’s worth it to look for it. The guy running the counter was very nice and talked us through it since we had never been there before.

We wanted to try something new while in peoria and ate dinner then lunch the following day. Couldn’t get enough of the great food and hospitality. The hummus is excellent as were the grapleaves, zatar, kabobs, shawarma, cabbage rolls… OK everything. This is a must if you are in peoria.

Service: The service was fantastic. The guy running the restaurant was incredibly friendly, and even gave us free falafel because it was our first time. The only small issue I have is that one of the guys working was wearing basketball shorts and flip flops. That part didn’t exactly scream, «Sanitary environment,» but that was the only problem. Food: Delicious! The chicken kabab was incredible, the hummus was perfectly spiced, and the falafel was crispy and flavorful. Things were a bit salty overall, but not too bad.

Truthfully, I’ve only eaten at one other Lebanese restaurant, but this one was 10x better. Not a fancy place and you’ll never find it if you aren’t looking for it. I saw my fellow Unilocaler reviews and headed over yesterday to try it out. They did not disappoint! Like most others said, the owner was super friendly and like everyone else, gave free Falafel to us since it was our first times. Personally, I wasn’t excited by them, but the garlic sauce with them was phenomenal. We got the Kabab combo(cheese, beef and chicken) and the Mixed Shawarma. Both were great although I would say that the Shawarma was the better with a lot of flavor. Not spicy or garlicky, but flavors that pop. I don’t actually prefer Humus which comes with the plates, but this was mixed well with everything. The Cheese Kabab was my favorite of the three, but eating them all at the same time was great too. Anyway, not a fancy place, but absolutely a great place to take the kids or to bring it home with you.

What a gem… in Peoria or elsewhere. Down home Lebanese falafel/shwarma restaurant in an otherwise dreadful shopping center. Food is very good. The plates are generous. The beef was very flavorful. They gave me a free falafel and it was very tasty. Nice, efficient staff too.

Am I an expert on Mediterranean or Lebanese food? Nope. have I eaten way to many kebabs in my life? you betcha. Kebab was one of my staples when working in the UK o I miss donner kebab generally any meat on a stick or in tube form is ok by me I should probably get to the point. This place was super clean and I was suprised about the review saying the old man was scary. He was super nice and chatted up a storm honestly I’d go back just to chat with him he seems like he’s got some stories. The food was great I had falafel, beef shawarma, and kebab combo(yeah yeah yeah I a sucker for kebab). The falafel was really good nice and crunchy and moist inside. Char on the meats was very good also. If I find myself back here again for work I will def be making a stop here again. Maybe I can swing by before my flight tomorrow night

The food is good but the old man that works there is very grumpy. I avoided going because of him now.

This is a family owned restaurant that couldn’t be better. Sure it’s no fine dining establishment, but if you are looking for excellent food, great hospitality and service, then look no further. And the price is right! Thanks to Unilocal,I stopped at this gem for lunch and met the owner and his wife who are both in the kitchen cooking. You know the food is going to be great! I ordered the 2 skewer lunch special and got kefta and chicken. It came with salad and rice. I also picked up a 4 piece box of baklava which was amazing! While talking to the owner, I mentioned how I was visiting from Chicago and found them on Unilocal and he also offered to add some Falafel to my order was no charge. Falafel was crunchy and flavorful. I will certainly be back on my next trip to Peoria.

Excellent Mediterranean food option here. Friendly owner goes out of their way to make diners welcome. Amazing hummus. Shawarma plates are excellent and authentic also. Complementary falafel sealed the deal for this five star rating.

Kabab G is one of Peoria’s real gems. The owner/cook is a wonderful gentleman, taking time to get to know his customers and welcome them, especially if you return. The menu is a wonderful mixture of Lebanese classics, the best of which(for me) are the following: Chicken Shawarma — I doubt that the Shawarma at the end of the Avengers movie tasted any better than it does here. Intensely flavorful, with a slight bit of char on each piece, it pairs perfectly with the lightly seasoned bed of rice. There’s also a small cup of an egg-based sauce, which provides a sour counterpoint to the unctuous flavor of the chicken. Kafta Kabob — This is a heavily spiced(but not spicy) lamb and beef sausage, grilled on a kabob and served with onions. A great choice if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous. Hummus — Easy to do and easy to find in Peoria, but Kabab G has the best. There’s a wonderful freshness to the hummus, and the olive oil drizzled on top has just the right amount of rich, green flavor. Combine that with the warm, slightly moist pitas that come with it, and I’m hard-pressed to think of any other appetizer that I’d rather have. Oh wait, he does falafels here too… Falafels — Standout on an incredible level. He hand-shapes each one, ensuring that they’re not too dense, but still hold together. Fried fresh-to-order, and served with a light yogurt sauce(similar to a tahnin), these flavorful bundles of sesame and spice are the best I’ve had across Illinois. I suppose that shouldn’t be a surprise, given how dedicated to his food the owner is, but I never expected it. Other highlights include the baklavas and the yogurt soup. In short, though, Kabab G gets it all right. If you want a clean, friendly, and delicious bite, this place should make it on your list.

This place serves very fresh and tasty Lebanese food. The inside is clean and inviting and the staff is helpful and friendly, which makes the overall experience a positive one. When I was there recently, I ordered the beef kabobs cooked medium rare, the owner assured me that the beef would turn out tender and flavorful. He was right! The 2 kabobs were on a bed of rice and came with a platter of zesty salad and a generous pool of hummus with olive oil. On the side came slices of warm pita bread. The owner even graciously brought out a complimentary sample of their freshly cooked falafel after learning that it was my first time visiting. If you’re looking for a place that serves fresh food, I recommend Kabob G’s.
