We’ve been to Old Chicago a couple of times since my last review and I must say that it has improved. The service the last couple of times has been better and the food was good. I found a pizza that I really love, and of course that pretzel is still the bomb!

Cons, it’s a franchise joint. So expect everything to be contrived, and unauthentic. They advertise a large beer assortment, but I will be told oh we’re out of that for my first 5 choices… Pro’s it’s a place with trivia, and it’s kid friendly. Food is average, I’m never wow’ed.

This is a really fantastic place! I think just about anyone could be happy here! My family went here for my cousins graduation celebration. My uncle ordered 2 Sampler Platters that were soo jam packed with food that it could have fed all 13 of us!!! My mom and I got a Calzone and a Stromboli which were absolutely out of this world! CANTWAIT to go back sometime soon! If you are in Peoria check them out! You wont be disappointed! Also they have a wide selection of beer on tap!

Pros: Good food(not great), huge beer selection, Chicago sports! Cons: Greasy, not the best food Old Chicago is Peoria-style Chicago deep dish. If you are craving for Chicago pizza but are stuck in Peoria, Old Chicago is a way to satisfy your craving until you make it to the windy city. No, it’s not Chicago quality deep dish, but Pepper jack isn’t Philadelphia quality cheesesteak and I like it anyways, as I do Old Chicago. Good food, decent price, huge beer selection. I don’t partake in the World Beer Tour, but I’ve known friends that have. Not a bad deal. I love how every Old Chicago has on Chicago sports, I don’t like the heavy quality of grease, which usually means I head home feeling bloated. Solid, three-star restaurant to get some decent pizza and cold beer, quick and not too expensive.

Oh Old Chicago, how I have spent so much money here over the years. This has been the default place where my friends would get together since college. They have pretty good bar food, very tasty, not very healthy, and a HUGE beer selection. In fact, my name is on the Wall of Foam for drinking 110 of them(well, it was at the riverfront location before it closed); obviously not in one sitting. Their pizza is pretty good, and if you’re on the World Beer Tour, you’ll get a free one on your birthday. It can be kind of busy at times, especially if there’s a big game on. I watched the Super Bowl here once, and it was a good experience. The service is off and on; sometimes it’s great, sometimes it’s terrible, but when I go here, it’s usually for beer and pizza, so we are more socializing than eating.

I enjoyed Old Chicago on Water St. until it went downhill. I still enjoy it today at the Grand Prairie location. I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad experience at the new location, and I’ve dined there at least a dozen times. We don’t vary much on what we order, and I will say that the food that we get is very consistent. The drinsk are as well. What keeps us coming here? Two words: DOUBLEDECKERONI!!! The pizza that makes your arteries squeal… hopefully with joy :)

Love the chicago style pizza. nothing can beat this! Try well done and light cheese with chicken and green pepper topping… u’ll love it! Long waiting time if u happen to be there on friday/saturday evenings though. abt 45 mins!.. BTW…its more of a family atmosphere. the downtown location is good for people who like to hangout at the bar, but I didn’t like the pizza there. beer tastes the same at both the locations though ;) They do have buy one get one free. to go orders only. on Tuesday’s!

EVERYTIME i go here my order is wrong, and then I can never find a server to fix it. I ordered an extra cheese calzone, came with no cheese! i mean seriously? Chicken tenders and fries I got grilled chicken only. Oh well, my husband loves the beer, but I give up on the food. Also the hostesses act like you are a pain because you came in and have to seat you.

Completely unsure why this place gets the«hype» that it does in Peoria. People are just too lazy to make the 10 minute trek downtown? Yeah, it’s got cheap drinks and a lot of beer. That’s cool, I guess… but not really as amazing as I was led to believe.

Food wise & beer wise, same as Water St location. I prefer the service and crowd of the Water St location than this one. This is more of a family scene. Not that I don’t like families, but minus one star for little kids judging me for my drinking habits. J/K
