Peoria Brewing Company

Liked the atmosphere and design of the tap room. Unfortunately I didn’t like any of the three beers I ordered, and my husband didn’t like any of his either. That being said, everyone has different tastes and it’s worth a stop in to try some of their beers.

The beer is pretty good! I have been a few times and usually enjoy it — good crowd, nice staff, great popcorn; however, tonight was not that great. The beer, again, was good. We sat outside (which has a lot to be desired) and sat next to a table of patrons talking filthy and loudly. This usually isn’t a slap at the bar, but one of the owners went over and talked to the table about «blue waffles» (you’ll have to look it up yourself) and engaged in the crudeness. He also never once spoke to us, or any other patrons for that matter, thanked us for coming in, or boo. Supporting local businesses is very important to me and having a local brewery in our backyard is a great addition. However, if our business is not appreciated and the owners participate/​engage in immature, loud conversation, I can take my business elsewhere that has great beer AND food.

Great brewpub! Extremely friendly place with good beer and a very laid back, most pet friendly atmosphere. They don’t serve food, but they made sure we found a local place to get food from. If you’re in Peorea, and you like beer, you must come here!

This place does not look like a microbrewery on the outside, but the inside was full of high tables and metal beer tanks. The owner was giving a tour to a few guys. I sat at a table and was waited on quickly. I told her that I enjoy the darker beers and she suggested Erik the Red, I was not disappointed. I wanted some dinner but all they had was call out pizza, free popcorn and chili cheese dip with chips. They have eight different beers.

This place is really cool and unique. They have really good beer on draft they brew on site. Free popcorn is a nice offering to get ya thirsty for more brew. They also offer a stack of board games. Everything from jenga to cards against humanity. And if they don’t have it, bring your own. Tons of fun playing games and having a few drinks.
They really don’t offer any food other than a frozen pizza they’ll cook up, but they do let you bring your own or oder out. Strange, but very cool idea. You can bring some cheese n sausage, or just order a pizza to be delivered to the brewery. Plenty of places near by that deliver.
Peoria desperately needed a brewery. And this place is cool and unique. Will definitely be back with friends. They better stock up :)

Not feeling it, in house was ok. Had the red off site! Was not good! I expect better! This place could be so much better! The service was ok in house! Unfortunately I feel these beers taste like bud light in disguise. If this beer was entered in competition it would fall flat on its ass! Keep trying boys!

Great addition of a local Peoria brewery to add to the likes of Rhodell and Destihl. The location in North Peoria adds variety to the city landscape. Rightly-​sized industrial warehouse with a tap room for tasting and snacks along with a party room complete with two golf simulators. Shuffleboard seems to be popular as well. I went in January and the place was super busy which was nice to see. Vito and Nicks pizza is available along with popcorn.
As for the beer, flights are offered to sample their offerings. Personal favorites were the Moody Cow Milk Stout, Honey Do, and Erik the Red.

I really enjoyed it here. I didn’t go on the tour but I have been to a few brewery tours and this night was to just relax and do something different. Finally Peoria is catching up with some big cities. Love exploring local breweries and now we have one in our town! Love it. I had the sampler and ended up bringing home Crazy Jane and something else. Can’t remember it was my husbands pick. Looking forward to visiting again!

Am I a beer snob? NO. Do I expect something that tastes good? Yes. We went and there wasn’t a lot on tap and what was available was nothing great and nothing special that seperated itself from any other beer there. We ordered a Vito and Nicks frozen pizza also (which I will say how awesome you can get one in Peoria-​props to them for that). It was put back in the oven 3 different times and it was still undercooked-​as in still doughy. I’m not picky but I’ve made better pizza on the Pizzaz after a full night out on the town-​eek. My boyfriend and I visit a lot of breweries often making trips to do so and we both agreed we weren’t impressed and we wouldn’t be back. I think adding more local brew establishments to Peoria is fantastic, but, this beer in our opinion is not worth the trip there and not worth the money.

The beer was boring. That is, while it wasn’t foul tasting, it consisted of the most basic, bland, boring versions of the respective beer styles that I’ve had in some time. Additionally, I’ve found repeated comments that the staff wasn’t knowledgable on the beer to be true. While I’m all for variety, and competition, it seems to me that there is no reason to come here when there is another true brewery in town.

I came here with some friends that I was visiting from out of town. I liked the ambiance on the inside which was similar to other breweries that I have visited. The service wasn’t great — we sat at a table but no one came around to take our order so we ended up just ordering from the bar and bringing our drinks back to the table. One cool thing that they have is a popcorn maker so you can serve yourself from that. I can’t say that the beer I got was the best that I’ve ever tasted (honey-​do), but it was a fun local place to visit.

Craft beer does not mean good beer. However, since they just opened I hope their product improves over time. Staff was friendly but did not know much about the beer they’re selling. All of the glasses I was served were dirty, some worse than others. A beer clean glass shouldn’t have bubbles all over the inside. I tried all the beers they have on tap (7 at the time of this review), and none of them held up to what I would call quality craft beer. The moody cow is their best beer, and is too roasty for a milk stout, with no lactose or smoothness about it. Again, I hope it gets better.
Atmosphere is lacking; sounds carry and the overall vibe is bland (why play virtual golf when there are actual golf courses close?). I didn’t try the pizza they carry or their popcorn.
On a side note, I noticed a lot of 1 and 2 star reviews that have been marked as ‘not recommended’. This is not a 4 star brewery. Maybe someday. In the mean time if you want local craft beer go to Rhodells.

Not all beer is created equal. Everyone has their individual tastes, favorites, and dislikes. For instance, I’m not a fan of «hoppy» beer (IPAs and such), but others swoon for the flavor.
The nice thing about this place, is that they don’t try just one vein of the art. They have an easy wheat drinker called a Honey Do, an IPA referred to as Yippy, even a Milk Stout! They offer a good variety for being so new. Anyone that has messed around with brewing knows that it takes a while to perfect a recipe, and you won’t know how it will turn out for weeks! What they have been able to accomplish at Peoria Brewing Company is remarkable. They currently offer 8 brews, ranging from 5% to 9.6% APV. I would recommend going out for a meal, then stopping by the brewery for a flight to try them all out (they don’t really have any food offerings, save for some frozen pizza, but there is usually freshly popped popcorn!) and see which one you like.
For me, I recomend trying the Honey Do wheat beer, the Crazy Jane, and the Yippy IPA (I know, I don’t care for IPAs, but this one is more my style!). But remember to just try them, and see which one you like. As they continue to brew, I’m sure there will be more new types to try.
I’m looking forward to what PBC will offer in the years to come! They’re off to a great start!

I will start with service. Top notch. I first went before their grand opening and the bartender was interested in talking about the place and to help us find the beers we wanted. I ended up trying them all in a flight because I’m a huge beer nerd (homebrewer too). Later in the evening, one of the two owners, I believe Christian was his name, was chatting with us and he could tell we were interested. He gave us a full tour of the place and even offered to help out the local homebrewers in the area to get some pf their ingredients at low cost. Super cool!
Second, and fairly important is the beer. It is good. It’s not great (yet, this was written based on a visit before their official grand opening), it’s not bad, and I hope and expect that with time it will get better. I really hope they do some barrel aging (I know they are in discussions with JK Williams, a local distiller). I’d love to see some super hoppy beers and some huge (high ABV) imperial stouts personally (maybe some with local coffee?). I like to drink super flavorful beers that I cannot have more than a couple of.
I do find the brewery combination with virtual golf a little odd, but I can see myself giving it a try there someday. I play golf when I can, have played a bit of virtual golf, and maybe just maybe, this will work out well for them (especially in the winter or on rainy days).
Lastly, the location is perfect for me! Peoria’s North Side needs something like this badly, and I’m glad it is where it is. I will almost certainly become a mug club member (assuming it’s still available). I love supporting local places that have good products like this.
Give this place a try, and remember that it’s in it’s infancy (as of 2014). I really hope that this place becomes a North Peoria staple. I’ll do my best to keep this place in business myself. Best of luck guys! Cheers!

So thrilled we have a fully functional brewery in Peoria!
The place is new, but the staff is friendly, and they made me feel like they had been doing this for years. Grounds still have some bare dirt waiting for grass to grow.
Beer is draft and growler only. Bummer… Maybe they will upgrade to an ability for bottles someday.
Beer is all tasty and fresh. They have all styles covered that you might expect. They have a few of their beers on nitro as well. No sours! All in all a must for anyone who loves beer and supports local craftsmanship.

Love this place! Exactly what Peoria needs! Great brews, friendly staff and owners, and an awesome crowd! Love what they’ve done with the place– I saw the building when it was on the market and they poured a lot of love (and beer) into it.

It is true that this place is not one of the well established Chicago area breweries that one reviewer mentioned. It is a Peoria place that you can go enjoy yourself at and not have to plan a weekend around just to get a beer. This is not a place, at this point, trying to compete with the likes of Solemn Oath or Three Floyds or any other outside of its market and it doesn’t claim to. What you have is a place with a friendly staff trying to provide a decent spot not like any other in the neighborhood. The beer will get better as the system is learned and creativity is supported. I look forward to where they go with this project and how they carry the Peoria name.
Also the popcorn could use more salt. Milk Stout is tasty.

We stopped in with a group of 12 on a Saturday night. The bar area was packed but the owners moved tables together and were happy to have us. This beer selection is great and you can’t beat the friendly staff. I can’t wait to stop back in and try the pizza. We are so excited to have a local brewery in North Peoria and we will be back soon.

Absolutely stunning! Craft brews galore! There is a golfing simulation in one area and large TV screens in another which makes it perfect for watching sports.
There are several different brews to try from. I am not a big fan of drinking beer, but I really enjoyed Plain Jane. There are also old sodas in old fashioned glass bottles for the non beer drinkers like myself and designated drivers to enjoy. They also had pizza with amazing seasoning on it.
Very comfortable place to throw back a beer, chat with friends, and have an overall good time.
