Before I say anything, I absolutely LOVE popeyes chicken and their cajun fries. The 3 stars is for this location only. For the most part, it’s just like any other Popeye’s franchise. In case you didn’t know what it is, think southern style fried chicken(and shrimp but I never come here for that). The breading is very tasty, but you could say its a little bit on the saltier side… respectfully so. Take your pick of mild or spicy(both equally good), a biscuit, and a choice of side. Sides include: Coleslaw, cajun fries, red beans and rice, green beans, cajun rice, corn on the cob, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. I’ve only ever had their fries, mashed potatoes, and cajun rice. I rank Popeye’s cajun fries as the best out of all fast food fries. The mashed potatoes have a good consistency to it, not too soggy but not too hard either, just right! As for the cajun rice, I didn’t care too much for it. I will always be a fan of popeyes. This specific location has great customer service, btw. However, when I ordered a half gallon of sweet tea. I was handed an already opened jug! It had a date written on it and the seal was broken, yet it was filled to the top. Here’s the worst part, it did NOT taste the same. I’ve gotten these jugs multiple times before in Orlando and it was absolutely delicious. I took it to another popeyes location to see if they sold theirs the same way and the manager instantly apologized and showed me the ones they sold, which was sealed and unopened. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still come back! I just won’t get their jugs of sweet tea again. I’d still recommend friends, family, and Unilocalers here if they are craving fried chicken.

I have to note that I had Popeye’s in New Orleans before and I thought it was amazing! Rolling through the drive thru was a pain. The girl was practically yelling at me to get my order. Not sure if she could hear me or not and when she did talk, I couldn’t understand her. She sounded like Bön Qui Qui. I bought the meal and was disgusted by the portion size and the overall taste. I know fast food isn’t going to be always top notch but it at least has to be average, like I shouldn’t have to force myself to eat it. Gross. Don’t do it.

Popeye’s is a delicious southern fried chicken based restaurant that does a great job of replicating some of the best southern food as fast as you can get it at this quick serve style joint. The chicken is so delicious, they have regular or spicy. I like both, but I do think regular is the better choice. Very tender, juicy, rich coating, and wonderful flavor overall. The red beans & rice is a great option as well, has a nice gravyish type sauce that comes with. The mashed potatoes are a winner with a little southern spicy kick to them and the biscuits are very good as well. Always a great meal here. Southern style cooking at a fast food place always brings a smile to my face and as the commercial says«Love that chicken from Popeye’s».

Food is good. However with the drive through we have consistently had to go inside and get the rest of our order. Like clockwork we order once a week and literally 4⁄5 times. The order is jacked up missing portions of the order. Particularly the 2 for 5 dollar Poe Boys. They are rarely in the bag when we go to leave. First time we made it home and then found the error. Next three times it’s been incorrect. Sure. We called and complained. Sure we were offered a comp(never used) for the sandwiches next time we go. Just double check the orders. My wife is pissed at me for sending her there after her 12 hour shift. The food tastes great. Just quit screwing up the orders.
