Shenanigans At the Salon

I was referred to Jennifer Anderson at Shenanigans at the Salon a couple years ago and am so grateful to that friend! Jennifer never disappoints! My hair consistently looks awesome even when I style it at home (which, let’s face it, is even more important than walking out of the salon looking great!)
I stopped coloring my hair a couple years ago and never feel pressured to get color services, although seeing the great results my sister and mother both get from Jennifer’s color guru skills makes me consider it often!
I highly recommend Jennifer and Shenanigans at the Salon for all of your hair wants and needs!

After weeks of researching different salons and stylists, I chose Jennifer because of the reviews raving how amazing she is with color. I needed a color correction to rid me of «stripes» in my hair. Going from all black to a black and red ombré resulted in less than desirable results with blackish red and bright red stripes rather than a smooth transition from black to red. In addition to the color correction I also needed a Brazilian Blowout. Hours later, I STILL had the stripes in my hair. The color is gorgeous and it has resisted washing out even after ocean and sun time, which alone is pretty damn amazing there, but the stripes are still there.
Also, there were a couple steps left out of the Brazilian Blowout. Didn’t do the final rinse, mask, blow dry and flat iron. So I had chemicals in my hair for about 4 days (yes 4) as I resisted to wash my freshly dyed hair. The thing I struggled with the most was not consulting me before cutting my hair; how much to take off or if there was a certain style I was going after. I did mention while doing the color that I wanted very very little taken off when we do get to that point. She ended up taking off 2+ inches which is HUGE for me. I was heading out on a big vacation and was counting on my hair being long so I could wash and wear and the weight would aid in keeping it smoother. The cut was choppy around my face and just straight across on the bottom. Had no real style or shape so I went to my regular girl to kind of spruce it up before my trip (even shorter hair now). My hair feels softer but, that was not my goal. I’ve had my hair horribly damaged before and got it back to healthy as a slow process, which is what works for me.
Usually I leave the salon feeling gorgeous and wishing I had somewhere to go, but not this time.
Overall, the color and staying power of the color was awesome. The color correction not working, the haircut, and steps missing from the Brazilian ultimately brought my rating down.

I have been going to Jennifer for years now and I would never trust anyone else to do my hair. She always knows exactly what you want with little direction and the color is always AMAZING! I love the salon atmosphere, very cute and cozy :)

Jennifer is the best! My hair came out the perfect color, soft and shiny! She is excellent with blondes and did my full highlight and low light. The experience is something note worthy and sets her apart from other salons. (There is vino ;-)

Jennifer does wonderful color and cuts. I just wish I could take her with me to blow dry my hair. She does excellent work!

Originally created a Unilocal account so I could put a crappy business on blast but I love my nail tech so much I had to sing her praises.
Here we go: since the first time I had my nails done by Lauren, I haven’t gone to anyone else. She is a creative genius, through and through. I hardly give Lauren any direction and she runs wild with beautiful and festive creations for both acrylics and gels. It just doesn’t get any better.
I highly recommend Lauren for all of your nail needs!

Wow! Jennifer does amazing color!!! My hair is impossible to color, the color never stay’s so it seemed like it was always a waist of money!. Jen said «give me a shot.. you’ll be happy!» THAT was an understatement! My hair is amazing! ! Thanks Jen! I send everyone I know to you!

Jennifer is the best! I am in my 50’s and I have to say Jennifer has made my hair look the best it ever has! She does great color! She has given me great tips for keeping the color looking its best. I would not go anywhere else! Thank you Jennifer!
