This is a cute little nut house and candy shop in downtown Peoria that also serves ice cream. My eyes glazed over trying to focus on the one item I wanted to buy to enjoy while walking on the riverfront. I ended up settling on a cone of sweet pecans that were gobbled up before I ever made it home. It was a nice treat to eat while strolling along the riverfront, and I’d be happy to go back and try more things next time!

The name of this place does not do it justice, Nuts, yes… But hard candy, soft candy, handmade chocolates and hand dipped ice cream cones. I felt like I had stepped back in time when I entered the store. Wall to ceiling candy… The waitress was friendly and patience with the family that was in front of me. The little boy could not make up his mind tooooo many choices. I waited patiently for my turn as my mouth watered the entire time. This was the first place in Peoria that I found Diet Coke, it is definitely a Pepsi town. I order a scoop of chocolate in a cone. Yes, old school cake cones here. No waffle cones. One scoop was plenty and filling. Now for the price only $ 1.25 per cone WHATTTTTT!!! and a soda for under $ 3.00. I know shocking…

We popped in here quickly after eating Downtown to get some ice cream. Ice cream was kept at the perfect temperature where it was solid but immediately started to melt on the surface when scooped out, had a fluffy texture(white chocolate macadamia nut flavor!). A single scoop was only $ 1.50, which I have to say is a pretty awesome deal for the location. The main event in the store, however, is the candy and chocolates, which I had to control myself from indulging in. This shop is like a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, except 3x more stock, and it’s a mom&pop. She has almost every confectionary chocolate piece possible in there, as well as every kind of homemade candy you can conjure up. Another thing that I liked about this shop is that the lady working there was especially friendly. Good place to stop for dessert or a snack if you’re out to lunch — maybe even bring something back for your coworkers or classmates? Naaaah. ;-)
