Vue Park West Apartments

Please Read This before you rent. You could end up saving yourself a world of trouble. The manager is in cahoots with security and maintenance. The contracted security guard a.k.a. her boyfriend will make false claims against you. Lets start with the rent, when we moved in we were told we had to pay rent and tax each month. This is not true they also charge you for Water and Trash and no its not $ 20 – 40 per month its more like $ 70-​$ 80 per month they will not give you an explanation if you ask why your bill is so high they will give you a bogus breakdown on their monthly statement no actual usage breakdown. They WILL NOT accept your rent payment without paying for these extra fees. That’s right they will refuse your rent payment and try to evict you for non payment if the other charges aren’t included with it. We rented a 3 bedroom the rent was supposed to be $ 1165 after taxes we usually got a bill for around $ 1250-​$ 1300. We told them that we preferred to be billed directly for water they told us this was not possible.
There are a TON of rules here but only for certain tenants and they are not Child friendly so please do not move here if you have kids. Be prepared to deal with your neighbors calling the office AND corporate to complain about stomping, even though you have to deal with stomping from your neighbors above you. The office staff will call you to rudely tell you there was a complaint for noise (yup a noise complaint for stomping) and when you ask if you can move units they will tell you only if you pay a $ 600 transfer fee and your rent will increase because all they have is an upgraded unit AND they wont have any units available for 2 – 3 months. They knew we had kids when we moved here heck our kids were with us when we signed the lease, we kept asking if it would be a problem because they were putting us on the 2^nd floor, we were told no and they never have people complain about stomping etc (such a lie). There is dog poop everywhere they are constantly putting out notices about cleaning up after pets people obviously don’t listen or care.
People on this property walk their pets without leashes the ones that do walk their pets on leashes are idiots and let their leash so long the dog can come up and sniff you and your kids and bark at you, if you tell the office they will say «well you knew this was a pet friendly property» there pet breed policy is laughable people have pit bulls, huskies, boxers and other mixed large dog breeds when you tell the office they will say «oh that’s a therapy dog or grandfathered in dog» (more lies). The amenities in the clubhouse suck, if you watch TV down there they walk by and look at you confused like your not supposed to be there, the xbox they claim to have does not work, only one computer works and only one can print, so if you need to do anything be prepared to wait for the «good computer». The pool although it looks inviting they close it almost daily the maintenance can never get the PH levels right.
There are always people in the pool that do not live there, they jump the fence and swim in the mornings. There is also a group home that bring about 7 – 8 kids over to swim uninvited. A neighbors’ child’s bike that was locked to the bike rack was disassembled and stolen at Christmas time the management did nothing to look into it. Even if you pay your rent on time for 13 months they will say they can decided not tot rent to you because well basically they don’t like you. Neighbors have gotten into physical fights on the property and nothing happened. If the manager likes you, you can pretty much do anything you want. She usually isn’t available to speak with in the office because she’s busy dating tenants and running over to their apartment throughout the day. She tells her «boyfriends’ everyone’s personal business and incidences she has with them if you tell corporate they will claim its hearsay.
Don’t think because the manager is African American she doesn’t discriminate she does not like minorities but if she has to fill units she will rent to them to keep the occupancy high. if you so much as rub management the wrong way they will do everything they can to get you out. The regional manager Carol is the only person that has any sense.
If you like dodging dog poop, you and your kids getting sniffed and barked at, smelling trash after 6pm daily, hearing everything your neighbors do and say as well as being complained on constantly this is the place for you. Do not expect peace, expect to not find parking, expect to receive rude and nasty phone calls, expect the «security» gates to be propped open all day. Oh and the manager walks the property with a tow truck owner weekly and points out vehicles she hasn’t seen move in a few days so they can be towed.

So far not so good, open the lobby door just to get it slammed and locked right in our face.

What rude and inconsiderate management. I called a company that had promised to deliver something to us last week to ask why it had not arrived. They said it was delivered to the Vue Park West office and someone there had signed for it. No one told us or dropped a note in our mailbox to tell us!!! When I asked the woman in the office about it, she said, «We have nothing to do with deliveries. When our tenants order something, it’s up to them to come in and check if it’s been delivered.» I said, «But no one notified us that it had gone to the office.» She said, «We have nothing to do with deliveries.» I will have nothing to do with Baron Properties from now on.

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! The staff here are rude, snobby, and uptight. They have all these hidden fees with your monthly rent that they don’t tell you about upon applying and signing the lease. They have this ridiculous valet trash service that you’re mandatory to have, it’s an extra $ 40 a month in addition to your rent. They give you a 13 gallon trash can to put a bag of trash in and you place it outside your door every evening and it gets picked up. However, there is no trash pick up on Fridays, Saturdays, and holiday weeks. the days you accumulate the most trash of course. They do not have dumpsters nearby so you can throw your own trash, instead they have two large trash compactors on each end of the complex but only one can be used since the other one is locked, so plan a 10 – 15 min walk to the compactor to throw your own trash on the non-​pick up days. Also, if you put your trash can outside your door too early or if stays out too long you will be charged a $ 50 fee each time you do it. Since everyone’s trash is put in the halls every evening, the halls reek of trash all the time especially in the summer when it’s 100+ degrees out and everyone’s garbage is baking. On many occasions I’ve seen people just leave their bags of trash at random spots around the complex because it wasn’t a pick up day. The majority of residents that live here are young, single types so if you like to sleep then this is the wrong place to live. There’s constantly drunk people running through the halls, hanging out in the parking lot, and blasting loud music all days of the week. Be ready to be welcomed with puke on the sidewalks from drunken guests, empty beer bottles and cans, and trash like condom boxes. They’re isn’t assigned parking so good luck finding parking anywhere close to your own apartment. Also when you move out you will be charged to paint the entire apartment and to clean it even if you cleaned it yourself because you must leave it in the condition it was when you moved in, which pretty much means you’re responsible for paying for it to be move-​in ready for the next person. So expect a good $ 400+ charge upon moving out.

Don’t live here!!! I have been here for a year and can’t wait to move out. I live on the 1^st floor and all day long listen to the retards above me stop around. They are either fat as hell or pissed off all the time. Then I got the Justin Bieber wanna-​be next to me singing all the god damn time. The walls are too damn thin!!! I can literally hear every word people are saying. So much for privacy! Then there is the dog shit all over. It’s disgusting. People here literally look like they’re on welfare. I feel like I’m living in the ghetto. The rent is way too high for what you have to deal with. Oh and then there is also the issue with idiots blaring their music in their car. If you want to sleep peacefully at night then don’t live here. People are so inconsiderate fucks that live here. I cannot stress this enough. Stay away!!!

I have lived at these apartments for nine months, for how many rules there are I still feel like im living with my parents. The other day I was moving something and had some heavy stuff in my hand so I set it down on the side walk and proceeded to take half of It to my truck, as I turned around to get the rest, an employee showing someone around looks at me and says (you need to move this off the sidewalk) well no shit Sherlock! The stuff was there for not even a minute! The pool used to be open ²⁴⁄₇ (which is why we moved here) but thanks to some dumb kids they now have it closed at 10pm so if you get off late and want to go for a swim-​good luck with that. They also do not allow any parties at the pool, so no bringing your guests to the pool. And those security doors they have didn’t work half the time I’ve been here, and now that they do work– someone always has a rock to prop them open so they open most of the day. I complained about this and they said it was only when there was tenants moving out and the people working on the vacant apartment didn’t have a key to the complex so they propped the door open. If you ever want to rent the clubhouse, expect to pay $ 150 plus a $ 500 deposit (which you get back) and it only holds up to 30 people… not worth it no matter how nice it is. My rent was $ 775 but after all the hidden fees its $ 850 which is fine but I wasn’t expecting it to be that much for a one bedroom. DO NOT get a room on the bottom or second floor, you can hear EVERYTHING that is dropped or people running/​walking down the hall. The BBQ’s are great, best thing about the place, just every now and then they run out of propane which sucks when you prepare your food then head out to the grill to find out it has no propane. Lately I’m also beginning to get the feeling the place isn’t kid friendly, so if you’re single uptight person without a family this is probably a good fit. The apartment has the nicest maintenance staff, the guys are super nice and knowledgeable and do a great job at repairing problems. But the apartments aren’t worth their price, you might as well as find a house to rent. I’m not renewing my lease, instead I found a house to rent for $ 850.
