I went into Walmart to price match an item that was on sale that day. I tried to call to see if they would honor the price match but nobody answered. I entered the electronics area and there was absolutely no one there. They were all on break, I presume so I just wandered around waiting for someone. I found the assistant manager and told her I needed to price match an item, she told me that the price match would be under the«managers discretion»… Meaning they get to decide whether or not I get it or not, alright. I thought the price match policy was better than that. Oh well. She walked to the back and made me wait 15 minutes for her to come back and say, «We can’t find the ad you’re looking for so I’m going to call the store directly.» No problem. Call them but I thought the policy was to just have the ad on my phone to show you and then I would get the item at that price? She started to google it on her phone and I could tell she wasn’t very tech-savvy so I offered if I could help her and enter the URL to speed things along… I said it twice to her face and she completely ignored me both times and just kept scrolling blindly through google not knowing where to go. She called the stores website and described my item poorly. I think the assistant manager just didn’t want me to get this item at this price. She was treating me as a thief. At one point, she turned around while on the phone with them(her back turned to me) and I could see she was mouthing something to her associate about me. Probably somewhere along the lines of, «he’s a thief!» She turned around and gave me this look like she was pleased with herself because she had solved a mystery. She told me that they couldn’t honor the price match with almost a grimace on her face. I had waited forty minutes for her to just toy with me and I walked away looking back to see them chatter about me in a negative light. I felt like I had walked into Walmart but I didn’t realize this Walmart was being run by adults that are still in junior high. I left and went to the Walmart Supercenter on N. Allen Rd. I showed them the ad to price-match and he treated me like I was his best friend! Totally understanding and friendly! Jordan went back, grabbed the item, called up management to approve the price-match and I was out the door happy as ever with my bargain in less than 7 minutes. AVOIDTHISHOODMARTATALLCOSTS! The Walmart Supercenter on Allen Rd is MUCH more helpful!

I definitely won’t return to this store to shop OR to have my car serviced. I was quoted a price for Goodyear tires. I went in and had the tires put on, then after I paid and went to drive off there were Douglas tires on my car. After a lot of back and forth with the store manager, I was told that the woman who quoted me said Goodyear because«Goodyear makes Douglas tires.» Unilever owns Ben and Jerry’s, but there is a big difference between soap and ice cream, ya know? It is what it is, but I felt really taken advantage of there. I wandered around while waiting also and it was super dirty!

Very filthy store. I always bring some sanitary wipes and hand sanitizer with me because the carts are always caked with something sticky. Staff is never helpful and they act like they hate their job, but they probably do because it’s Walmart. They don’t have a huge selection when it comes to food. I don’t believe this location is a super Walmart because they only have a small freezer/fridge section and limited dry goods. No produce.

Have basically everything. But we’re trying to see if they had rubber boots in stock in another on the back. Man couldn’t help us cause it wasn’t in his sector of knowledge. They paged for someone, waited for about 15 – 20 min. No one came. About 20 employees walked by. Two made eye contact, no one stopped to ask of we needed help. Pathetic.

There’s a reason this is Hood-Mart… the employees are hopelessly worthless and barely know how to do their job. I went there on new years eve to take back an item and it was 12 minutes to closing and they were already locking up the doors! Oh, and some security dick flashed his badge at me when I tried to throw logic at them for the fact their sign said when they closed and they shouldn’t have been closing yet, but I digress, I went back today and I must have been the return counterperson’s hardest assignment ever! She took about 10 minutes to punch at the touchscreen to refund me the wrong amount($ 10 short) but having dealt with enough of this ridiculousness already, I gave up and vow to never go here again unless extraordinarily desperate

Maybe it’s because I’m from the East Coast where we don’t have nice Walmarts, but I was very impressed with this Walmart when I stopped in to pick some things up quickly while visiting Peoria. The first thing I noticed was that the bathrooms were ridiculously clean and really nice. That went for the whole store as well, everything was very organized like they actually took pride in their store and the way it looked. It was easy for me to find things and the staff was super helpful. Maybe I would go to Walmart more if they had more stores like this out here!

This isn’t the usual Walmart i go to, I usually am either at the one on Allen Road or in E. Peoria. This Walmart has made a lot of changes and they have cleaned it up very well. Its close by my house and I was bored so I usually go and walk around and see what they have to offer. They seem to be making renovation ofter to compete against he much bigger stores and they seem t be doing a good job.

So, if you’re from Peoria, you might know that this is what locals call«the ghetto Walmart.» That being said, you can imagine my hesitancy to go here to get a replacement tire at the Tire and Auto Center. In fact, I first went to the Walmart Super Center on Allen Road, but their Auto Center never seems to have anything less than a 10 hour wait. So, off to the Walmart on University, I went. This review is more for the Tire and Auto Center than the actual store. My experience was great. They saw me immediately, had my tire in stock and in about 30 minutes were done with the whole job. Courteous customer service and friendly repairman who explained my options. Granted, the Auto Center might have been nearly empty since everyone now shops at the one on Allen Road :) but I was very happy with the service. For those who haven’t been to this Walmart in a while, they have repaved the lot(no more car size pot holes!), and updated the store inside. It’s still a little ghetto, but much improved. Also, if anyone out there needs a tire repaired at the Walmart Super Center on Allen Road, the repairman informed me that he «use to work at that store,» and the best day to go is Tuesday.

I think top Wal-mart execs feel like they can really let this store go because it’s the local black Wal-mart. They have potholes in the parking lot so large they put shopping carts in them. They also typically have at least 3 customers in line. Walking in you really have no idea what this particular Wal-mart is going to carry. They have a fabrics section, which the big white Peoria Super Wal-mart no longer has. They have an eye doctor but no pharmacist. They have wheat bread but no rye bread. They also have a limited assortment of cat’s litter boxes.
