Stopped by here to get some dinner to-go after a day of driving around the city. This restaurant shares its parking with other businesses, so parking is limited and a bit cramped. The restaurant does not look like much from the outside and does not look any better on in the inside. Mix and matched dining room sets in the dining area and fairly barren walls. There is a tube TV in the front-left area of the restaurant showing Spanish language channels. As you can tell from photos, you will have to ask what all items they make. I thought I had ordered some camarón tortas, but apparently I ordered some carnita tortas instead. I thought they were pretty good though. The portions are good for the pricing as well.

If you’re looking for a delicious fresh torta place, you must try People’s Tortas. The meat is very tasty the salsa is spicy perfect for tortas ahogadas. They have excellent customer service, very nice and humble people.

Alright Tim… you go to a place called Pepe’s TORTAS and order taco’s? Your opinion is no longer valid; check this out: First off make sure you speak Spanish… Which the fat Azn guy does not, BUT I found a black guy who spoke perfect Spanish to help me out. Order the biria The meat was tender and delicious and the bread was a force to be reckoned with!!! The fat Azn guy has been to Mexico, up and down the west coast searching for what Pepe’s Tortas gave me. In the famous words of Dora ‚“num num num num num, deliciouso!!!”

Lately I’ve been trying different Mexican places in this area. I ordered a carne asada burrito at Pepe’s. It cost around $ 6.75. When I got my burrito, it was a little bigger than a twinkie. Couldn’t believed I paid nearly $ 7 for such a small burrito. I thought this better be a really good burrito, but again I was dissappointed. Honestly, the meat tasted like dog food. It had to have come from a can or something, definitley NOT fresh. I don’t even want to give this place 1 star. Horrible restaraunt. I cant understand how there are good reviews here. Try it for yourself if you don’t believe me.

Excellent customer service, aquas were decent and the tortas were delicious. As the other reviewer said, this place is very humble… but clean and that means a lot. The salsa we were given to use on our tortas almost blew my brains out but I am more of a «Mexicant» than a «Mexican.» The owner was chatty, the tv was blaring and they sell all kind of chingaderas so most Mejicanos will feel right at home. If your choice is to eat tortas at a Mexican chain like Alibertos or one of those joints, give this guy a shot, you won’t be disappointed and you will be supporting a small businessman.

Can’t say you’ve been here unless you’ve tried the Torta Ahogada! Beware though it’s spicey… The location is small and plain, there are other items on the menu, but Torta’s are the way to go… My favorite torta place.

I’m back by unpopular demand, in the pass 7 days I’ve had 25 tacos. I wanted to do 31 tacos shops in 31 days, but on the 7th day god created, taco over load. I never thought this could happen but sadly it did. First I went to Que Taco Meat Market, it was being redone I had walked in the door, asked if it was open, door was open sign on door said open, nope it’s closed. The owner or worker was rude and asked why was I in the shop, lol come-on asshole the door is open and it’s a taco shop, was told to leave, OK adiós motherfucker. To my luck I found Pepe’s Tortas. It’s in a run down shopping center, two door down is a Alberto’s Taco, my guess is this place is better and cheaper. I’ll try it out tomorrow the 10th. The Tacos. 3 tacos Asada, Chicken and Carnitas. 3 very tasty tacos, maybe some of the best in the area, within 2 miles you have some OK to crappy tacos, from Taco Nochistian to Sol Y Mar Fresh for a great taco and to save some money Pepe’s Tortas is hands down the best place for tacos Asada Taco, flavorful meat cook just perfect they had a small amount of heat with spice to them, maybe cumin and paprika, odd but very good, with onions and cilantro. Chicken Taco, tasty shredded chicken meat, cook great very tender meat with a little spice to it, with onions and cilantro. Carnitas Taco, as you can see from the picture it’s pulled pork, no chunks no bite size pieces of meat, just good tasty pulled pork carnitas with onions and cilantro. They serve a red sauce on the side, I’m sure they have a green sauce, but the red was prefect. 3 tacos and can soda $ 4.75 tip $ 1.00 Very much worth it, I’ll be back to this place soon. If your in the area give this place a try, it’s will worth it. I wish I could eat tortas, It’s the trademark of this gem of a taco shop. Maybe add some color or pictures to the place to make it more presentable inside.
